4 movies?!? Good grief! I can barely make it through one good movie. I feel for you. As far as ratings, I’m guessing 2 1/2 Reagans for one and mostly Arafat’s for the others, and picking “Goats” just cause I like the trailer best. I hate cheap cheesy comedy but this one shows some promise, kinda odd and quirky, but who knows, I’m probably way off.
BTW, much thanks for the reviews. If I hadn’t run across your site a while back I would have missed DEFIANCE which I read about in a local paper a while back. I had to get a DVD copy for my parents, both WWII survivors who lived through it all. Yeah, you bet they have stories to tell. I’m lucky to be around to hear them

I want to see The Man Who Stare At Goats. This particular ensemble seems to flow together really well. But, I’ve just seen the different trailers. The movie could be awful, for all I know.

I watched the trailer for Precious, and I’m not sure what to think. I’ve seen a couple of Tyler Perry’s movies. Even though they can be sappy beyond belief, he really emphasizes the importance of real men and fathers. This movie could go either way. There was one scene that caught my eye, though–the one where Mo’Nique’s character is telling Precious to put some food in the frying pan. She had a peculiar look on her face, and the camera cuts to some of the nastiest food EVER!

I don’t know. I’ll be interested to see Debbie’s reviews on each of the movies.

Has anyone else noticed that when Clooney is the sole big star in a movie, it doesn’t do too well at the box office. Clooney has to have several big stars along with him to have box office appeal. Just compare Michael Clayton or Leatherheads to Oceans 11,12, 13, etc.

Up In The Air looks like a heavy handed version of Planes Trains & Automobiles. And I’m with Doug Q – The trailer for Men Who Stare At Goats made me laugh out loud so even if these were all the funny scenes I’ll put down my $10 to see the whole thing.
