That’s like the craziest, you know, like comments on the poor girl. Like she isn’t, like, educated, know what I mean? Didn’t she go to like college to like further her education so she could like make a living – you know what I mean? Are you saying the at she isn’t, like, awesome? So now, she like works for NBC, know what I mean?

Oh no! I usually don’t speak or write like this – know what I mean? Is there a chance that her speech pattern is, like, sublminally contagious? My brain hurts!

Yesterday I listened to a radio interview with the local clinic’s newest MD. Sadly, it was full of “gonna, cuz, y’know,” etc. I had to keep listening because I thought I must have heard the introduction wrong; she couldn’t possibly be a doctor. To my surprise, she is. Apparently even a person intelligent enough to be a doctor is not immune to sounding like a complete airhead when interviewed.

Just one more reason we homeschool our children…even my four year old speaks with better grammar than I hear from many adults.

That’s right, condone the dumming down of our society. Do you want someone teaching your kid who, as you put it, “speaks like a 10 year old?” I don’t. Grow up. The texting, emailing, cyber- kids of today have lost the art of communication. They don’t know how to write a real letter. They cyber-abbreviate words (u = you, r = are, etc). We have become far too lazy and far to dependent on technology. We need to get back to basics and TEACH OUR KIDS THE RIGHT WAY!!!!!!

We have a 16 year old son and make it a point to call him out on the excessive use of “like”. It is one of the most overused words in our venacular today. Do parents do anything to correct their kids these days? Do they correct manners? Cussing? Incorrect grammer? We do and we are proud of it! We need to get back to center and if you have a kids BE A REAL PARENT, NOT A BUDDY!
