And that ploy is that whenever anyone criticizes Spencer (or now it’s Spencer & Geller), Spencer pulls out the “but we are doing important work” card, which in effect attempts to put the blame on the critic — no matter what his substantive criticism may be — for “enabling” the forces who are attacking the anti-Islam movement.

Effectively, this puts Spencer and Geller beyond criticism, for any substantive criticism levelled their way becomes automatically identified with an “attack” that “enables” the enemy.

This is at best an unhealthy way for an organization or movement to conduct itself, and at worst is a recipe for the development of irrational demagoguery — and somewhere in between best and worst here is the fact that there may be certain issues that should be adjudicated out in the air and sunshine of public discussion because they may affect the ongoing progress of the anti-Islam movement in which everyone — illustrious book-publishing quasi-leaders and shabby civilians alike — have an exigent stake.

The position effectively taken in this regard by Spencer and his supporters — i.e., we are to trust our quasi-leaders in deciding what’s best for us and in deciding what thorny internal disputes should be aired out in the sunshine of public discussion (so far only one has been aired out in full — the Charles Johnson Catastrophe) — similarly reflects an attitude unhealthy for the movement.

It isn’t exactly clear that Pamela or Robert have done anything than media whore this issue. Were they intimately involved in the legal defense of Rifqa? No. Instead, Pamela has Robert and Andy Bostom attack Rifqa’s actual attorney, John Stemberger. Where they involved in the political effort to keep Rifqa in Florida? No. That was Tom Trento of the Florida Security Council working behind the scenes, who the Pamela crew have also publicly attacked. Are they working with Rifqa’s Ohio legal defense team? No. Had they been they would have been aware much sooner that the dependency charges had been dropped and the hearing rescheduled. Are they working with the activists in Ohio working behind the scenes on Rifqa’s behalf? No. In fact, every single speaker at their “protest” was from out of town.

Instead, Pamela and Robert hurt Rifqa’s cause considerably when they showed up in Orlando — unannounced — and barged their way into Tom Trento’s press conference and created the media side show that the media had been hoping for. Instead of changing the focus from honor killings to the actual facts of Rifqa’s case, which needed attention because the damaging FDLE report was about to be made public. Had they been involved with the actual defense of Rifqa they would have known this. Instead, they decide to bring the anti-jihad circus to town much as they did in Columbus earlier this week.

Does any of this have anything to do with Rifqa? No. It has everything to do with Pamela’s unquenchable need to be an media whore.

Now Pamela is trying to float the story that everybody was screaming “where’s the mother”? What BS. We know exactly where the mother was and what she did. Pamela said so herself.

Yes, Pamela THE “NEED” TO BE IN “CHARGE” IS WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM HERE! Just not in the way you intend it. Perhaps you need to look in the mirror before attacking Debbie for calling you on your shameful behavior.

Atlas again – The Florida judge originally demanded the immigration documents before he released Rifqa to Ohio. According to PG they were not produced, at least not publicly so what really happened?

The problem now is if they are deported, Rifqa, as a minor, goes with them. If she can be kept alive until she reaches 18, she can request asylum as an adult and the parents can then be deported or jailed as illegals. Again my opinion.

This whole thing is very disturbing because a woman with PG’s savvy should have know that even if her behavior was the best and most ethical a journalist could muster, her involvement would provide fodder for this becoming a media circus with no good outcome for the girl.
