Wayne Clearwater – don’t get me wrong about this. I definitely agree that we should not be giving out the taxpayer’s money to support people who won’t work. I also despise people who won’t contribute to our society. The point that I was trying to make is that we should help the disadvantaged by giving them the means to get out of their situation and to become self sufficient without the need for gov’t handouts. Giving the people willing to work just a little help, like training, is much less expensive to all of us than lifetime entitlements that the libs want to give these people.

Thanks for saying it. Can you imagine if they were all just gone from our country tomorrow? Can you picture a whole nation of self-respecting, self-reliant, right-thinking patriots?

The trouble is not just the homeless. It’s the fact that they multiply and multiply. So we’re going to have to live with their kids and their kids’ kids – who are going to be the same shiftless third-world types and almost certainly be homeless too.

I’m not claiming to have an answer. But I sure do like to imagine the kind of clean and pure country we *could* have without them all.

Jarhead, you can say or think anything you want. But paying people to not work is not a conservative value. Everyone is given an equal chance in this great country of ours. Some people choose to live on the streets and stay high and drunk all the time while the government takes money out of my pocket and hands it to them.

They are not victims. We, good honest working people, are the victims here.

We’re all welcome to join them if we lose all self-respect.

Answer me this: wouldn’t this country be better if they all just happened to die tomorrow?

Wayne – why can’t I disagree with some of the things that Reagan, Gingrich and Limbaugh have said or done? I don’t agree with anyone all of the time. If you agree with anyone all of the time, you sure need to get some help. A shrink may be able to help you with the brainwashing you’ve been given.

The reason why most people are homeless is because they choose between shelter or their addiction. Most homeless people are considered mentally disabled or indigent. These homeless people scam the system by getting their SSI or SSD checks. They can get Social Security Supplemental income for their addiction. Since they are addicted and can’t function in society they get a check. Good taxpayer money thrown in the toilet. They also get food stamps and food from pantrys. They usually have free health care through Medicaid. Most cities have subsidized Section 8 housing for low income and indigent people. What happens is junkies and alcoholics will spend their cash money on drugs and liquor. Even if they got $10,000 a month they will still feel any money spent on a apartment or room is less money on drugs.

I am not a goddam liberal! The homeless are homeless by choice. They are NOT victims of ANYTHING and do not deserve anyone’s sympathy. They had their chances just like everyone else. And I’m not going to pay them to sleep on the streets and urinate in their pants in public.

Are you going to argue with Reagan, Gingrich, AND Limbaugh? What kind of cafeteria conservative does that make you?

Wayne Clearwater – you must be a commie lib. I don’t know any conservatives who think like that. Did you miss your favorite website, the Daily Kooks, and inadvertently end up here? You have just explained through your comments why there are twice as many conservatives than there are liberals in the U.S.

Conservatives have helped the poor for a very long time, just in a different manner. The morons on the left want to give lifetime entitlements to people in order to get their votes and gain power over the general populace.
