However, I can attest to the fact that ON 09-11-01, as the news of the horrific events unfolded on live reports from NY and DC, a group of Muslim students at a public high school in my hometown, stood, and loudly cheered.

While it may indeed be true that most Muslims are peaceful and law abiding citizens, there’s much more than meets the eye on this topic. A survey was conducted, on Muslim men ages 18-30. The result of this survey “Would you agree that suicide bombings, are a justified act in advancing the power of Islam in the world?” determined that 25% of Muslims that age, think of suicide bombings, as a justified act of violence against non Muslims. That survey, is downright disturbing.

And, as I can also agree that the violence we see on a global scale, committed in the name of Islam, is indeed a small minority of the overall Muslim adherence population. What we’re really saying is. “It’s just a small percentage of the overall Muslim religion, that encompasses the globe, and includes over 1.3 billion adherants, that are wreaking havoc on hundreds of countries, and those who are practitioners of other faiths” The repeated cliche “It’s just a small percentage” is not very comforting, when you realize that even 1% of 1.3 billion people, is 1.3 Million (With a capital M) crazed fanatics who have nothing to lose on this Earth, and everything to gain in paradise. This would include 72 virgins, for the “male” martyrs.

One should only need look at the global community, as a good place to start, when studying the pros and cons of Islam, in Islamic ruled-majority nations, where Sharia is the law of the land. Women are widely considered “property” and have little if any credibility, in an Islamic Sharia courtroom. One could even look to Europe, and it’s current state of well being. Entire sections of London, Paris, Madrid, Stockholm, are now cordoned off by it’s Muslim inhabitants, and declared a “Sharia Law” zone. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of news stories pouring out of Europe on a daily basis, concerning the Islamic immigrant population. London has experienced tens of thousands of marchers, who wield slogans like “Europe can take a lesson from 9-11!” A lesson? Like what kind of lesson? The one that should prompt the immediate end to all future immigration, to Europe, from Muslim nations. A lesson like “If we come to your country disguised as exchange students, we might just attend aviation schools, and learn how to aim a large aircraft, at a building full of innocent men-women, fathers-mothers, Muslims-Jews-Christians-Hindus, and kill them in cold blood”

Yes, the truth may be most Muslim people across the globe are peaceful, and want to live a quality, and free life. But, if they are only 99% of the overall Muslim population worldwide, we have a serious problem to address. If Islam is indeed being “Hijacked” by fanatics, I’d think the first and loudest people to protest all this horrendous violence, would be Muslims worldwide.

The word “Islamaphobia” to me, is a joke. It suggests that anyone who’s paid close attention to world events, and conflicts, in the wake of 9-11, are crazy for being afraid of this political arm of Islam, known as “Muslim extremists”. The only thing I do agree with Anjem Choudery about, is that “real” Islam does command warfare, and violence, against all other religions, and it’s faithful followers. Read the Qu’ran, and it won’t be long before you read ” “O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people”

This sura is just one of several, calling on Muslims to hate Jews and Christians. There are LOTS more. Including in the Hadith. Here are some examples, written in the Qu’ran and the Hadith.

The Qur’an also prescribes a similar form of execution:

The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides. (Quran 5:33)
What constitutes “mischief in the land” is left to the interpretation of the powers that be.

When Muhammad sent his army to overrun the peaceful farming community of Khaybar, he was not satisfied with the plunder and felt that the town’s treasurer might be holding out on him. He had the man brought to him:

When he [Muhammad] asked him about the rest he refused to produce it, so the apostle gave orders to al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam, “Torture him until you extract what he has.” So he kindled a fire with flint and steel on his chest until he was nearly dead. Then the apostle delivered him to Muhammad bin Maslama and he struck off his head.” (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 764)
(As a happy side note to the story – the man’s brutal murder left a beautiful young widow named Saffiya, whom Muhammad was then able to “marry”. As his biographer tells it, on the day he had her husband killed, the prophet of Islam “passed the night with her in a tent of his.” (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 517)

In summary, Muslims worldwide are taught that the Qu’ran is the absolute word of “God” So, as being divine in it’s original context, can never be interpreted as anything less, than the word of “God”.

We need to stop and think very seriously, about the current state of affairs in this world. Muslim Jihad isn’t a result of America’s alliance with Israel, or troops present on Saudi Arabian sand. It’s about conquest. It’s about following the direct commands of Allah (God himself) It’s not about reaching out, in an attempt to understand the difference in our cultures and religions. Islam, as it is instructed to Muslims Via the Qu’ran is the only true religion to be revered in this world. And, this fact cannot be refuted in any way. Sharia, is the law of God, according to the Qu’ran. And “Good Muslims” will battle until the laws of Allah, are prevalent world wide. This is not Fox news propaganda. It is the literal text of the Qu’ran, that is used as a reference in the commission of war against Infidels. I’m sick of hearing how “we’re the problem” We are not the problem! The “divine word of God” concept, has kept Islamic law in it’s place, across the middle east. While it’s true that the Bible may have several interpretations and revisions. The Qu’ran has never been interpreted in a tolerant and accepting way, regarding the entire population of non Muslims, world wide. Anyone who suggests otherwise, has invoked the “Taqyyiah” concept. Which is a word used in the Qu’ran to encourage Muslims, who are under suspicion of malfeasance, in a non Muslim land, to lie to their non Muslim counterparts, and try to win their trust(Fool them into a false sense of security) That’s exactly the goal and purpose for this new idiotic “reality” show called “All American Muslim”. If they truly were “All American” they would embrace the hard work, and message of Dr Zhudi Jasser M.D. A Phoenix doctor, who has taken a bold stand against Jihadist philosophy. And, as a result of his bravery, love of this country, and continued love of Islam, has acted like a sole pioneer, in the effort to stem the radical agenda, of political Islam. He has a huge security team, following him everywhere he speaks. His message is not very popular among a huge percentage of Muslims. The message is something like “Embrace the freedoms afforded to you in America, and you’ll always be able to practice your faith in Islam, in peace, and under the protection of the US Constitution”. Don’t be naive Chris. You seem too bright to fall into the ranks of the politically correct Ostriches, who would rather wish Islamic radicals away from our world.

Ok, these were kids, they printed a shirt (though not as blatant as I am sure it could have been) that fans the fires of anger from the memories of 9/11. I did some stupid things as a teenager too. I didn’t like authority, we ran from the cops on one or more occasions … somewhat in fun I have to admit. I now know I just had an outlook on life back then that I was invincible, I didn’t think seriously about many of my actions (not that all kids do, I can just relate if this is truly their response) and made some stupid mistakes and usually received the consequences from them.

What I find interesting, is that the shirt is actually somewhat ambiguous … like it could be a bit mocking towards the 9/11 event but trying to spin it like the shirt could be a good thing saying ‘You can’t bring us down’ which could be referring to Americans showing defiance and they also show the school mascot as the thunderbird (as you reference in your article). I could not find pictures of the mascot online and I wonder if it is meant to be similar enough to the American eagle keep the intent even more ambiguous.
However, I doubt the shirt is intended to do anything but stir up the pot regarding 9/11.

To the poster who mentioned the history of what Whites have done to Native Americans, Hiroshima, etc. Yes, very bad things, also to most, if not all minorities in the United States, prejudice and more abounds and it is not a good thing … I agree.

Grouping anyone … all Muslims, Arabs, Israelis, Jews, African-Americans, Whites, etc into one big group and condemning all of them for the things that, truly, only a small percentage has done … is ignorant. Ignorance might be bliss, it might allow you to be comfortable and to sit back and just let anything anyone tells you to sink in and you could believe what anyone says that feels right to you then you will continue being ignorant. Don’t let that happen!

Have you ever taken a trip without a good road map or just gotten lost in a little traveled area? I have, I have a general idea where I am going but I eventually get lost. I can ask someone directions but they don’t always make sense to me. Why? Because I am not from the area … I am in an unfamiliar place.

I am a Christian and I try to follow Jesus’ directions. I usually fail but I keep trying because I know that trying to go through life without a moral code (a light) from someone much more enlightened than me, who knows the right directions, is like driving without my headlights on in an unfamiliar place … I will eventually crash.

I’m sick of hearing from rednecks and the teabag taliban about how the ‘brown people’, be they Muslim, South Asian or Hispanic, are coming over here, invading the country and taking away YOUR jobs when in fact these are occupations most of you are too lazy and/or too stupid to do anyway.
I can understand not wanting to do summer time jobs such as landscaping, construction, picking fruit or working in a kitchen. However, back when I was in college the only place I could find other brown people with foreign sounding names such as myself was either in the science or engineering building. These are majors you have to work VERY hard in, sacrificing A LOT of time that most of my non-science major buddies spent drinking and partying and while I do still care about them very much it should come as no surprise to anyone that most of them are pretty unsatisfied with the line of work they ended up with, as is expected when you graduate with just barely a 2.0 GPA and a major like history, communications or general studies.

Come to think of it I find it hilarious that ding-bats like ‘Support oand(his misspelling not mine) God Bless our Troops!’ may enjoy Nascar, AR-15’s and Whiskey while at the same time know nothing of drag coefficiencies(used in vehicle design), muzzle velocities(used in designing/testing firearms) or liquid state saturation(used for alcohol density and proof) and heaven forbid if they or their children take seriously any classes dealing with physics, advanced mathematics or chemistry. No they want to get a degree in basket weaving so that they can party for the next four to six years. This is why ‘WE’RE’ taking ‘YOUR’ jobs, it’s never too late to enroll in medical, engineering, law or hard science school, sacrifice and work hard like I did, like many other successful Muslim Americans did, this is America after all, land of opportunity – FOR ALL. NOW PUT UP OR SHUT UP JOE SIX PACK!
