It’s Official: Stats Show Blacks Prefer Black Prez Over Higher Income, Jobs

It’s one thing to have a giant voting bloc that is ignorant.  They can be educated and if they are, they might change their ways.  It’s entirely another to have a giant voting bloc that is living in fantasy and refuses to wake up.

To me, racism and bigotry is most illustrated when the possessor of it is willing to stick to race- and ethnic-based discrimination, even when it hurts them personally, whether economically or in some other significant, costly way.  The Pew survey referenced above shows that Black Americans continue to live in a fantasy over the color of the man in the White House, to their own detriment.  Yes, that’s the real racism.

Despite high unemployment and shrinking incomes, black Americans are more satisfied with their situation than at any time in the past 25 years, and more than half say life will get better for them.

A poll released Tuesday by the Pew Research Center, which studies American attitudes and trends, found that 39 percent of blacks say things are better for them than they were five years ago – almost twice the percentage that said that in 2007. Twelve percent said things are worse.

The last time black opinion was as positive was in 1984, when 37 percent said things were better than five years earlier.

Please. He’s no Reagan. Not even close.

More than half of blacks surveyed, 53 percent, say they think life will get better, compared with 44 percent two years ago.

The reason: the “halo effect” of electing the first black president, says Paul Taylor, the Pew center’s executive vice president, a co-author of the study.

“We’re dealing with an upbeat sense of perception . . . at variance with reality,” he says. “We’re in tough economic times, and it’s been especially tough on blacks.” . . . .

The unemployment rate for black people rose from 9 percent in December 2007 to 16 percent in December 2009, while the rate for whites increased from 4 percent to 9 percent.

Median black household income dropped 2.8 percent from $35,219 in 2007 to $34,218 in 2008, according to the most recent Census data available. Median white household income decreased 2.6 percent from $57,030 to $55,530 during that time.

Clearly, we’re dealing with a fantasy here that cannot be overcome. A race-driven fantasy that because we have a Black President everything is better or will be, despite the statistics and financial situations of most Black Americans that got dramatically worse in the first year of the Obama administration.

Time to take off the race-colored glasses and see things clearly. Until then, it’s like drug addiction, and no matter how harmful it is to them, some people will continue to obsess with the race of the President, not what he’s done for them lately or ever.

Totally on spot article. I recently had a one sided debate with a black female friend/excoworker and she was stuck on how many people voted against him cause he’s black, etc. She had no idea about ANY czars, radical friends, or past associations. I told her to come back when she’s armed herself. I get tired of beating up on an unarmed opponent.

This is not surprising news. I was just having this conversation with a few friends. Some of which I might add are African-American, so call me a racist if you will, but your perception will be deluded.
The 10% or so of African-Americans(Black) who didn’t vote for the boy blunder are those who have a better than high school education. They went to college without affirmative action,worked hard and acheived the “American” dream without ever once screaming racism. Those are the same Blacks who are now out of a job thanks to the boy blunder along with 8 million other people.
The Blacks who love Odumbo now are the same ones who loved him a year ago. They still believe they’re going to get something for nothing. Sinners in hell are still waiting for their ice water so it’s going to be a long wait up here as well.
The Blacks that were unemployed a year ago are still unemployed today and quite frankly they don’t care. They enjoy living in the inner cities, sitting on street corners, listening to the stolen ganster music they boosted from the local store.
As long as one of their own is living the good life, corrupt beyond measure they’re happy.
THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE ENTIRE BLACK COMMUNITY, but the statistics stated above prove that the majorty of the black community still likes living in the hood.

It’s called loyalty and patriotism. Think about that the next time a survey of American Jews show that the majority of American Jews don’t give a damn about Israel.

And if you actually read the article, much of the bad stuff happened at the end of the GW Bush presidency.

I had a similar experience, Joe, with a black coworker in DC, who is a devout Christian, goes to church every Sunday, is anti-abortion, for school choice, and against gay marriage. She lamented how they’ve taken God out of the public schools, wants more morality in the black community, etc.

Yet, of course, she was a big Obama supporter just because he is black.

Most blacks look at Obama as a deity, even black Christians, and when you constantly place something above God and make that thing into an idol, in this case race, it goes against the first commandment, and suffering is the result. Blacks need to wake up.

This is a classic example of racism/bigotry, as you have said. Blacks are suffering more than ever from the economy, but President Obama is still just wonderful. His opponents are just racists. You can see this phenomenon in predominantly black congressional districts and cities. Rep John Conyers will be voted in again and again, despite his lack of accomplishment. Mayors in Detroit, MI. and Atlanta are put in for the same reasons. These characters make barely disguised racial appeals, and then virtually ignore all but a handful of their constituents once they are on office. Such politicians know that their color will get them in each time. so they do not have to do too much to stay in power.

Are you telling me that our founders would approve of today’s welfare state whereby the faceless “state” forces one individual to pay for somebody elses’ abortion, food,housing, “retirement” and coming soon, all their medical expenses?
    We do love America, only the America we love, is NOT the America we have today…Today’s America is more like East Germany a year or two before “the Wall” was built…Soon, we will ALL be walled in and won’t be able to travel outside the borders without going thru “check point Charley”. Oh wait, that’s happening today is it NOT? So which “America” do you say we do not love? Ronald Reagan’s America or Jimmy Carter’s America? Screw being political correct, I call it the Rush v McNabb theory of “the NFL needs black QB’s regardless of performance… (Old Northeast/Midwest) Cities need black mayors (councilmen, school board, ect) regardless of there performance its a inspiration for a young black kid to put down the basketball, microphone or baking soda and do something with there life (to also only underachieve with a degree in Sociology) while While People move to the Suburbs and I don’t blame them (I’ve joined them)… White Progressive however need the black sheeple until they can legalize the Illegals than Blacks will be reduced to the plight of the Native American w/o getting casinos.

Why are these people so satisfied with their current situation? Because they know eventually Omoron will take the money from the productive citizens and give it to them.

One other thing – if we deported the illegals that are infesting our country, there would be a lot more jobs for Americans. I guarantee legal Americans would do “The Jobs That Americans Won’t Do.”

Americans situation has deteriorated under Obama and looks set to get worse. This is an example of where group loyalty overrides reality. If Obama was white, would blacks be looking at the situation in exactly the same way? I think not. Obama’s non-performance is being overlooked or excused because of his race.

The reason blacks feel better off is because they see whites suffering and disapproving of Chairman Obama. What could be better that having whitey suffer? That’s more fun than getting a job could ever be. Hearing whitey complain? Proves their point – Obama is the messiah.

This afternoon a black lady made a comment about how people were “trying to bring Obama down” and how much she hated Pres. Bush. I decided I had had it – so, I answered, “I miss Pres. Bush – at least he was a good Christian” [ and did not sit in Rev. Wright’s church for 20 years listening to God damn America!] I don’t care if she gets angry at me – she defended Zero because they are both black. I call that being a racialist. This is what I have to listen to all day. Excuses, excuses, excuses.

You mean there are actually people have who have hope in the midst of the storm??? GREAT!!! What’s wrong with that? I thought optimism was as American as apple pie and a core ingredient of the Christian faith. Debbie, this is not fantasy, it is FAITH, the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). In the Christian faith (or at least in my church), we’re taught that your current negative circumstances should not determine who we are or our ultimate destiny. You don’t survive bad times by focusing on how rotten your life is. As scripture states, “Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” Romans 8:24-25. Now, I wouldn’t say I’m “satisfied” with my situation, but I still see quite a lot of opportunity in this country. Black business ownership has grown by 45% over the last 10 years, far surpassing the overall national growth rate of 10%. Hopefully my own business idea will be contributing to that growth rate very soon. Faith without works is dead….

The Apostle Paul put it best:
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

What’s the alternative? Joining the Tea-Partiers? Being depressed and angry (yet another angry Black man/woman)? Yeah, right…that will definitely take us far.

    I think you are missing the point. It is one thing to have faith and to be optimistic. It is another to look past the data, ignore how the President is governing, how is going to stil govern, and THEN still have a positive attitude. I don’t see the responses as an act of faith, but of blind devotion. More like those who follow a cult. No matter what facts are presented, how much logic, how much truth or evidence,they can’t be shaken. The race issue will never be allowed to heal, because being a victim or identifying with a group is just too powerful for some people.

Ms. Teek is not being very logical. Conservatives do want to see blacks employed; they just don’t want to see them working at jobs they are not qualified for or that are phony jobs. The conservatives’ concern is wider than just blacks. We don’t want to see anyone at a job they’re not qualified for. We don’t like political patronage, where supporters of a particular candidate, black or white, get jobs just because they know someone. And affirmative action is just another form of patronage.

The answer to unemployment, no matter who is unemployed, is not some kind of gimmick like patronage, cars for clunkers, afffirmative action, bailouts, etc. — it is revitalizing the economy by encouraging real investment in businesses which will generate jobs, lowering taxes on those who perform honest work for a living, and improving education so people really learn the historic values of our civilization and develop meaningful skills.

Right on Debbie. Blacks voted more selfishly than any other group in this country. Hillary got 8% of the black vote in the primaries and also was called a racist. Has anyone seen how black mayors have done in large cities? How is that working? When blacks have the majority of the voters then they will never split their votes and they will vote by race. They are never questioned. The other groups will then be asked are they racist if they don’t vote for the black candidate? How many articles did I read wondering if whites, Jews, Hispanics or Asians would vote for a Obama? F*ck that BS!!!

By the way misery loves company. Make everyone else miserable and everything doesn’t feel as bad, because you won’t feel so bad your life sucks. That is the mantra in a poor inner city. Ever smile as someone in poor inner city? They will ask you, “What the hell you smiling for?”

You know Squirrel3D, like me, there were a lot of people who really hoped Barack Obama would change things. I liked the man at first too but than the ugly truths came out.
Still, too many people decided to not pay attention or just ignore it all. They saw their messiah and nothing else seemed to matter. But, in some instances, like yours, common sense prevailed. I’m just curious, how many of your friends and family share your point of view on President Obama?

Speaking of wealth and prosperity: Being rich is not so much what you have but what you have compared to everyone else. Just think how many kings had showers, toilets and widescreen TV’s

The reason why Blacks became the Blacks who love illusion more than reality is because of White guilt. White guilt through artificial entitlement and privilege spoiled the Blacks. Spoiled undiciplined children may need to satisfy their emotional cravings. They don’t find satisfaction in being hardworking, having success by their own hand. With Obama their emotional need for orgasmic pride was satisfied for a while. So, they choose to dwell in the dream and bath themselves with illusory pride of having their kin raise to the highest position. It’s like getting high on drugs.

The same thing happened to the Islamists. They are the same spoiled type. When they are enraged, they think they are entitled to destruct anything as they please although to make it look pious they convince themselves they’re doing it for their Allah. I don’t think anyone with even a minimal knowledge of American history would say that Black people have been “spoiled”. Nor would they say that Black people haven’t “worked hard” since they arrived on these shores. I’ve had older relatives who’ve worked as maids, worked 18 hours a day in meat-packing houses, worked on farms, worked as roustabouts on oil fields, worked as circus hands, picked cotton, cut sugar cane, worked on the railroad tracks, and the list could go on and on. WE’VE WORKED HARD. And any serious study of America, past and present, will find many examples of “the Blacks” who have found success by their own hand. I suggest you read such titles as:

“The History of Black Business in America: Capitalism, Race, and Entrepreneurship” by Dr. Juliet E.K. Walker

“Entrepreneurship and Self Help Among African Americans” by Dr. John H. Butler

“Having Our Say – The Delany Sisters First 100 Years” by Sarah A. Elizabeth (it gives you a first-hand account of the conditions endured and how hard newly freed Blacks had to work after slavery)

As for your statement, “Spoiled undisciplined children may need to satisfy their emotional cravings.”, that pretty much describes the American political system as a whole. How else do you explain the rise of a Sarah Palin???

The spoiled thing I am talking about is on recent policies, policies made based on White Guilt, affirmative action type policies. I am not talking about longer past when slavery was still practiced. Ofcourse during slavery, Blacks had no choice but to work very hard. And also, I am not talking in absolute generalization, that ALL Blacks are lazy non hardworking type, ofcourse there’re some hardworking and successful Blacks.

Clinton’s affirmative action policy of forcing banks to provide housing to the poor and minorities is the typical “road to hell is pave with the good intention”. The intention is good, to support the poor and minorities. But when forced to the Banks without caring for the requirement of prudent lending, it bloomed into financial disaster of 2008 that dragged almost all the world into hell which are now causing many of you unemployed. Wallstreet played their greed part, but the root cause is the “good intention” policy made by Clinton forcing Banks toward imprudent practice. Since you are Black and perhaps will short sightedly pro-black and minorities, I think you’ll most likely disagree with this unless you want to research this fairly.

From reading your response as black, I can add another culprit beside White Guilt, it is victimized feeling. Although slavery was long past, no more segregation, I would say that the majority Blacks like you still live in the past, holding firmly on resentment toward Whites, constantly resentful (or even revengeful) of what the old time Whites had done to the Blacks. This is the same as some type of Christians who still blame present day Jews for killing Jesus while the actual culprit is the old time Jews. When the majority Blacks live by victimized feeling, then their mind will most likely be blame-oriented, blaming White, Bush, Conservatives for their own plight. This same kind of blaming happened to those Islamists who blame colonialization, Whites, Christians, Jews for their backwardness instead of doing self-introspection. Spending energy in blaming is wasting energy that can be directed for more productive purpose.

From my observation, let me also tell you, some Blacks are actually racists. Look at OJ Simpson case where a black husband killed his white ex-wife. The mostly black jury freed OJ Simpson. This is a breach of fairness. Blacks want fairness, equal opportunity, but given chance, they acted racist, defend their own although guilty. With the pervasive White Guilt disease, some whites could only grumbled silently because of fear being labelled racist for voicing their discontent. With the majority of Blacks voted for Obama and only a small percents (10%?) sided with Hillary (the same Democrat as Obama), it is obvious the majority of Blacks will made race-based choice instead policy-based choice.

I am not Black or White or American. I am Yellow living far far away from many of you in South East Asia. As a Yellow, we are being discriminated too. Look at affirmative action in Malaysia with a pro Muslim Natives policies. Instead of wallowing in the past or present (where discriminative policies are still being implemented), the Chineses within the constraint still work toward their own betterment. I am not advocating non complaining attitude toward discriminative policies, but I am saying do your best in whatever situation instead of wasting energy in complaining and blaming.

To redirect Blacks energy toward better productive purpose, I would suggest you to look into some of your own, for example, this is a truly thinking black (conservative) woman:
I believe Blacks will tangibly develop far more better if there’s more Blacks like her.

About Sarah Palin, I don’t think her rise has anything related to spoiled nature. Perhaps you can clarify what you meant. The way I look at it, the conservatives who supported her, see their conservativeness represented by Sarah Palin and the majority of these conservatives, from my personal point of view, are people who stand for certain principles, not spoiled undisciplined type. Ofcourse not all conservatives have favorable opinion toward Sarah Palin. Debbie’s & friends have their reasons of disqualifying Sarah Palin because, according to Debbie’s observation, she’s a clueless idiot with only self-interest.
