Wall Street Journal: Brit Muslim Agrees w/Me on “Borat”

By Debbie Schlussel
See, I’m not the only one. In today’s Wall Street Journal op-ed page, Melik Kaylan (a British Turk) says basically the same thing I said a week ago about “Borat.”

YOUR REVIEW of Borat convinced me, never to see it. OFFENSIVE and insulting are just not funnyÖat least for me that is…
Yet Borat made $42 million on its opening weekend!
And at the same time, not a single theatre in America carries, The Trailer Park Boys: The Movie.
Incredible.
AMERICANS continue to be force-fed BoratÖand the pathetic and stupid ìBoysî are nowhere to be found~
YESÖthere really seems to be a conspiracy to prevent Americans from seeing an actually funny movie – The Trailer Park Boys: The Movie.

What is the attraction with Borat? Repulsive stupidity is just not funny. I won’t see the movie because I’ve seen enough of this idiot on talk shows.

The actor was on his way to a dinner date with actor friend Hugh Laurie, after they had both appeared on US comedy show Saturday Night Live.
Cohen approached the man and asked, “I like your clothings. Are nice. Please may I buying? I want have sex with it.”
The man responded by punching Cohen in the face repeatedly. Laurie was forced to step in and push the man away, so Cohen could escape.
“Sacha couldnít resist playing the fool as Borat, but picked on the wrong person. I guess this guy thought he was being attacked by someone unstable and lashed out. Sacha is very lucky he didnít get a much worse beating,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.
Laurie, 47, told friends he feared Cohen was going to get badly beaten up, but luckily, 35-year-old actor did not receive any lasting scars.
