Islam is not like Judaism. One parent cant make you muslim because Islam is a religion. You have to believe in the religion of Islam to be a muslim. You should not talk about something you know nothing about. Get your facts straight and educate yourself about Islam, before you speak.

However, give sympathize with MANA, that is a hard thing to accomplish. If we learned anything from MANA [we meaning black folks] it was that Blackamerican Muslims are a much more diverse group that we thought before. Simply appealing to a pan-Afrocentric mentality would not prove to be enough to galvanize MANA in the minds of Blackamerican Muslims.The “whitey” issue again has more to due with our insecurities in our religion, which is why Islam that is perpetuated by Blackamericans in America’s urban centers tends to devolve down into “a black thang”. To be frank, the W. D. community is still more concerned with not being Arabs than they are with carrying Imam Warith Deen Muhammad’s vision forward, may God have mercy on him. Similarly, many of the conservative groups [read the Salafiyyah] have couched their Islam in contradistinction to modernity in general and America/The West in particular, which for Blackamericans has meant casting suspicion and doubt upon everything in your cultural backyard.Jazakallah for your feedback.

One more American who hates Islam. Thanks. And to clarify, you are not a Muslim if your father is Muslim. In Islam, if you say you are a Christian, than that is what you are and vice versa. I understand your concern, but will it really make that big of a difference in his Presidency? I mean you republicans were trying to remove him from office in 2008 before he started. And dont you think other Americans who voted for him did their research? He was an excellent candidate who is actually sticking to what he promised us he’d be doing. Anyways, PUT DOWN YOUR SWORD Ms. Schlussel, and stop looking at Islam as something harmful.

This article is bull. Obama’s father was an atheist by the time he was born, making Obama free to choose what happened to him. He was sent to both Catholic and Muslim schools as a child, and now identified himself as a Christian. If etymology of a name matters, then someone with the middle name “Athena” could be considered the pagan Greek religion, even if they’ve never been to Greece nor heard of the ancient gods. As for this foolish Christian/Muslim argument… Obama isn’t the best president, but nor do I think he deserves to be called a demon. He is NOT the anti-Christ, he’s NOT trying to destroy the country, and he’s NOT a Muslim. I don’t even particularly like this man, but the amount of stupidity I’m seeing in these comments makes em disappointed in the human race and how none of us can stop looking at religion, race, and culture to define a single person. Saying that every Muslim hates Christians, Jews, is a radical, and wants to blow themselves up in the name of Allah while screaming “LALALALALALALA FUCK AMERICA” is like saying that every Christian follows the example of Westboro Baptist Church and still believes in the Crusades. It’s just stupid.

Have you seen the pictures of people being punished by Sharia Law? Cutting off heads, stoning ect…The men do not teach you everything that is in the Koran. They say the female is inferior to the male. That they have to do everything the husband says or else. That makes you in to a slave girl. But Judeo/christianity teaches the same thing as in the following. “Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. Everyones ideas come from other people. But some come not from others but from their observations and ideas to try and make up stories to try & trick you in to believing so they can make you be a certain way for their own selfesh means. But in science you learn to observe with objectivity. I believe there must be a creator source for everything but we are just little co-creators on planet earth.
