I think the real subject at hand is not her choice in jeans so much, but rather the interaction and body language between the two.
Michelle:
She’s facing away from him, her body acting as a shield – her shoulder blocking. Her face and eyes are downward looking at the kids, her smile aimed at them. Her arms hang down at her side, palms inward toward her legs.
There is noting in that image to say she is at all interested or warm toward the man.
Hussein:
He, on the other hand, has approached her from behind and to one side, leaning in. It is as if he snuck up on her, then grasped her body firmly (with obvious pressure) by the shoulder while planting a kiss on her cheek.
He looks like a guy trying to steal a kiss from a date who has no emotional connection to him. She’s just there because the kids are. It appears more like a photo op rather for him than a warm interaction between man and wife.
If you go back and watch the video of the night Obama and Biden first appeared on stage together, watch how Michelle holds her body when hugging Biden, and then how she holds herself when hugging Hussein. With Bide, she holds herself straight. With Hussein, she tilt her hips back.
An inference that could be drawn is: this is a coupe who share separate beds and remain together for other reasons. From that inference, it is possible to conclude why she chose the jeans she did: she’s trying to attract other men. He on the other hand cares not a wit about her; she’s an object to be used when convenient to further his own agendas, and she knows this!

That was too much information. Wearing those cardingan sweaters makes her look more and more like Aunt Eshter. With scowl and a big purse that is her double.
Have you noticed Obama always reaching over kissing her? We know who wears the pants in this relationship.
