Just One Question About That Gauche $30K Ring Obama’s Buyin’ For the Missus

By Debbie Schlussel
Who is the “other woman”?
Hey, this is the “new” Camelot, done Fitty-Cent style [no, it’s not a typo–rapper “50 Cent” pronounces his nickname minus the second “f”]. And the ring has echoes of the garish multi-million dollar ring Kobe Bryant gave his wife after, you know, “the incident in Colorado.”
Oh, and by the way, what was that Obama was saying about the “greed” and “corporate excesses” of Wall Street? What was that he was saying to Barbara Walters about how they shouldn’t be able to spend on these high ticket items, while America hurts and shareholders are suffering?
Hmmm . . . look in the mirror, Mr. Egalitarian. It’s not me who’s playing the politics of envy. He did that for the last two years-plus. After all that, buying this gaudy ring–that resembles Home Shopping Network fare, if not the pricetag–is beyond hypocritical. So much for Michelle Hussein Obama’s faux “I shop at J. Crew” any-woman BS.

All That Glitters is Not Black Gold:

Is Obama Ring Just a Gift or Over-The-Top “I Cheated” Guilt-Ring?

By the way, $30,000 or not, that ring isn’t just gauche, it’s hideous. Looks like something someone who just won the Powerball jackpot would buy to show, “Hey, I’m Somebody!”
More proof that money doesn’t buy taste. Or class.
Exit question: Doesn’t this ring look like it came from Diddy’s or Snoop’s pinky finger in a rap video from five years ago? Or on the finger of one of the scantily-clad skanks they hired to shake her butt to the camera?
The New Hip-Hop Camelot . . .

You are so correct about the garishness of that ring. To me it looks like something you used to get out of those crackerjack boxes. A plain ring with diamonds or rubies or emeralds around the band would be much more tasteful. You are also 100% correct class and character always shows and the obamas have NONE.

These two vile hypocrites will fall like a house of cards…mark my words.
This gaudy, tasteless ring is symbolic and represents more than just a piece of bling…(perfect word for it).
BO and his bitter missus are narcissistic frauds
to the marrow.

Huessein is trying to make people think that he is the new Jack Kennedy. Jack was famous for the jewelry he gave his wife. For example, the bracelet he gave Jackie as an engagement present is timeless and classy. It was custom designed to express and apreciation for his bride to be. Huessein giving this ring and making it a public display shows how manufactured this circus is. This is some weird attempt to build the Huessen mythos. But the followers of O (Oprah and the One) will read about it in ‘Women’s Day’ and ‘Home and Garden’ and think it is the Camelot returned.

It could be worse, He could have bought her a gold and diamond encrusted “grill” like the one Flava flav and other rapers wear to cover their Teeth. She would make the cover’s of Essence, Ebony, “O” and any of the other magazines of the hip hop world that I love to make fun of.

OneIrishJew on December 2, 2008 at 11:24 am

The wife agrees it’s an ugly ring – says it’s a man’s ring!
Like I said a couple months ago; Osama/Obama probably has a few extra wives, concubines, and what-not in the shadows. Anyone who married a Gollum like Michelle “My-Belle” probably has a few extra-marital relationships.

That ring is bad, as was her Halloween costume…
…the night of Bubkas O’Bunko’s acceptance speech the night he stole, uh, I mean “won” the election.

Note, the link I cited was JUST for the picture, not for the commentary.

Here we go again. AOL News is saying this story is a hoax, much like the false story of Michelle Obama eating lobster at some ritzy hotel that Rush Limbaugh propagated, and the Ashley Todd hoax that made the rounds of conservative Websites without any of them (except for Michelle Malkin) taking a moment to check on its validity.
Drudge and company does it again…..

Weird. In all my years of reading Ebony and Essence, I have never seen anyone of the cover with a jewel-encrusted “grill”, nor could I ever concieve of them as being magazines of the “hip-hop” world. Historically, people have accused Ebony and Essence of being the magazines of the college-educated “Black Bourgeoisie”.
And I have no concept of how anyone with any critical thinking skills would put a minstrel like Flava-Flav in the same category with two Harvard-educated attorneys. But once again, I guess certain folks think all Black people are “hip-hop” and we’re are all the same. Thanks OneIrishJew…that’s very Third Reich of you.
Leave to yet another Internet hoax to bring out the worst in racial stereotyping….

OSJ, your attempts at slang are consistently terrible.
Just letting you know.

And thus speaks the esteemed University of Wisconsin law professor. Remember the old days when lawyers, and especially law professors spoke and wrote in a manner that emphasized restraint, courtly (no pun intended) manners, and reasoning that, even when wrong, was uplifting in its eloquence?
Now we have language like ‘slimy smear-merchanting bitch’. This post represents the overall degradation of the legal profession.
Compare this trashy blog with the opinions of Cardozo, the writings of Levi, and the eloquence of Scalia. These law professors sound just like the depraved hosts of junk TV.

Obviously I am referring to the comments of Ann Althouse, not the post by Debbie.

c f on December 2, 2008 at 6:47 pm

c f, how is DS any different? She obviously propagated information that originated from A TABLOID, that has now been proven to be incorrect, and she hasn’t bothered adding a correction. She did the same when she printed the Michelle Obama Lobster story(ZOMG TEH EXPENSIVE LOBSTARSS!)

hai lol on December 2, 2008 at 8:06 pm

That thing is a ring? It looks like a gaudy bracelet!

mplumb on December 2, 2008 at 8:10 pm

Has the information been proven to be incorrect? Why? Because Ann Outhouse says so? Obama says that it was incorrect that Bill Ayers was a close associate, and that he was just someone who lived in the neighborhood.
In addition, however, hai lol, your post suffers from logical shortcomings. I concentrated on the debased tone of AO’s post, and you are talking, instead, about whether a retraction is appropriate.
Just as Obama’s assertion that for 20 years he didn’t know about Jeremiah Wright’s ravings is unconvincing, a self-serving denial from an Obama spokesman, and a jewelry store that obviously doesn’t want to cross the next President are equally unconvincing.
If the story is proven, repeat proven, to be false, an update would be in order, and I am sure we would see one, as Debbie has done countless times before when updated information invalidated a post. But we are by no means there yet.

Debbie, I’ve got a new caption: “Don’t worry, boys, I swallowed the evidence.” (slichah)

As Obamanation cheers the $30,000 “ring” that Obama is buying for his wife/mistress/some dude/whoever, the Palin-baiters report on the RNC spending $180,000 on Palin and her family.
Can’t they leave that poor woman alone? Even TMZ does a more ethical job while reporting on celebs.

I am really enjoying the theme/design of your
weblog. Do you ever run into any browser compatibility
issues? A couple of my blog readers have complained about
my site not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome.

Do you have any tips to help fix this issue?
