A lot of commenters don’t know Harvard too well. It’s a lot like other big Universities, all around the country. It invites people with all political views – no view dominates too much, because the point is to have lots of perspectives there. It’s a lot better for people to come and see the school and take in a class visit. Where Ashley Judd goes – the Kennedy School – is actually an amazing place. People are not only from all over the country, but all over the world. Their motto is Ask What You Can Do, and all views are present there. The students are as likely to go to New Orleans and help rebuild the city alongside residents of New Orleans as they are to go to the heart of Africa and help communities rebuild there. People are people and are free to believe what they want – that’s why the School can have graduates that are as different as O’Reilly and other citizens that do not share his view, in the same classroom at the same time. Sounds like Freedom to me to have lots of perspectives and none dominating – everyone’s entitled to their own ideas.

BMW- I didn’t go to college at all, so does that mean that I’m a person of less worth than someone who did? I don’t care what people choose to do WRT their education, but I do get angry when people think you cannot be intelligent or educated without college. My mother and my husband are two of the smartest people I have ever known, and neither of them went to college, so do not think that a degree automatically makes you smart or more worthwhile than someone who does not have one. FWIW, I do plan on going to community college (then to FSU…probably not a “good enough” university to some but I don’t care) for a degree in agriculture..which is probably also not considered “good enough”, but I do not base my worth as a person on where I went to school or by my degree (or lack of one). It is meaningless fluff and should not be a yardstick by which you judge people.

But I have noticed that it is the “love everyone, everyone is a special little snowflake” liberals that are the biggest elitist hypocrites, so take that for what it’s worth.

Rat, indeed. I don’t know of any schools that will let you finish a degree that long after the fact. Typically, after 10 years you have to start over.

BMW – guess what? I went to a very well known university that is top ranked for its academic standards. You are right, however, I despise people who think that their pedigree gives them the right to look down on others. It is not resentment that motivates what I wrote, it is that people who have been given everything in life and come from a certain family think that they are entitled to their life of privilege, and therefore are better than others.

As to reasoning skills, I am up to the challenge of comparing mine to yours. I graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree and made the dean’s list 6 semesters. What did you do in college?
