Obama Said WHAT?! About Iran Deal – Iran is Laughing @ This Fraud

By Debbie Schlussel

Barack Obama said WHAT?! That’s what I kept thinking as I listened to his speech today announcing the “deal” with Iran that will only enable Iran to develop nuclear weapons (if it hasn’t already–and we’re clueless on this), and laugh at us all the way to the bank. I couldn’t decide whether he is incredibly, arrogantly stupid and naive, or an incredibly arrogant and egomaniacal liar. I think I vote the latter. Among the absurd things he said:

WATCH The Video (speech doesn’t begin until 21 minutes in):

khameneismilingobamasmiling.jpg

* Well, Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon did nuke deals with the Soviets.

Um, yeah, and the Soviets cheated repeatedly and substantially the entire time. Obama implied that the deals we made with the Soviets enabled us to destroy the Soviet Union in the arms race. Uh, no. The reason the Soviet Union crumbled is because we continued to build more arms and outrank them in the arms race, and because we also focused on SDI–the Strategic Defense Initiative–to shield us and/or shoot down their nukes. These worthless-piece-of-paper “agreements” with the Soviets, whether it was START or SALT or any of the other alphabet soup BS, were all meaningless and a joke. Hey, just like the “agreement” with Iran.

* Obama’s happy we “reached a resolution to Iran’s nuclear ambitions.”

Here’s a tip, Barack, we resolved it IN IRAN’S FAVOR–in favor of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

* Obama claims we stalled Iran for “several years” from achieving nuclear weapons ownership with this deal.

Huh? We have zero way of knowing that. And, more than likely, it’s the exact opposite: we hastened and enabled Iran to pick up speed. In fact, USA Today columnist James S. Robbins has a nice little history documenting each time (which was basically ALL the time) we were wrong about how close other countries were to achieving nuclear weapons status–whether it was the Soviets or China. The column is a must-read, and he points out that we’ll only know we were blind and foolish when Iran gets its nukes and tests them:

What if we only know for sure Iran is cheating on a nuclear weapons agreement when it tests an atom bomb? If history is a guide, that is exactly how we will find out. . . .

Today, we are not even sure what capabilities Iran has. For all we know, it could already be a screwdriver turn away from having the bomb. This week, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) faulted Iran for refusing to share information about the military dimensions of its nuclear program. Absent full disclosure from Iran before the deal is signed, how can anyone be certain that the guarantees in the agreement make any sense? Even if we knew Iran was a year away from a nuclear weapon, in diplomatic terms, a year might as well be a day. . . .

If Tehran is not allowing United Nations watchdogs to do their jobs today, blocking inspections and not revealing the full extent of Iranian military nuclear technology, there is no baseline for estimating its true breakout capacity. It makes no sense signing an agreement in which the mullahs promise not to do what they might already have done.

And Obama’s “response” to legitimate criticism citing disturbing facts like this is . . . . crickets chirping.

* “If Iran cheats, the world will know it.”

Really? Nuh-uh. Obama claims that while, yes, Iran can cheat, this agreement will make it absolutely verifiable and catch the cheating. It will? How? See Robbins’ comments above. And see, also, Daniel Henninger’s excellent column in today’s Wall Street Journal, “Why the Iran Deal is Irrelevant,” in which he cites North Korea’s many agreements with the West on not developing and acquiring nukes, all while the country was developing and acquiring nukes:

By the nuclear compliance standards of Barack Obama and John Kerry, North Korea was a model state—in 1992. In 1985, North Korea joined the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. In 1992 it and South Korea jointly declared the “denuclearization” of the Korean peninsula. North Korea next signed a safeguards agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency. Within months, the IAEA reported “inconsistencies” in North Korea’s nuclear program.

What follows is a quarter-century summary of arms negotiations with North Korea, based on the chronology assembled by the Arms Control Association. What happens in Lausanne doesn’t matter. No agreement is going to stop Iran. Agreements, and a lot of talk, did not stop North Korea. . . .

North Korea proves, irrefutably, that the “talks” model, absent credible measures of coercion or threat, won’t work. Iran knows it has nuclear negotiators’ immunity: No matter how or when Iran debauches any agreement, the West, abjectly, will request—what else?—more talks. Iran’s nuclear-bomb and ballistic-missile programs will go forward, as North Korea’s obviously did, no matter what.

* “I encourage debate” over the Iran deal.

Um, isn’t debate supposed to come before capitulating in the form of a losing, unverifiable, easily-cheated-on agreement is reached, not after? There already has been much debate, and you can’t even find very many liberals who will agree that this is a good deal. There’s simply no point in it.

The debate, now, is how anyone can claim America is still the leader of the Free World. In fact, the only thing we are leading in is . . . driving it into the ground.

This hilarious non-deal “deal” with Iran, enabling it to obtain nuclear weapons quickly, while previous penalties and embargoes are lifted, is Exhibit A.

I really don’t believe Obama is that stupid. But he is that arrogant and deliberate in destroying the West as we know it.

And that’s even scarier.

Yup.

And making Iran America’s new ally and lecturing Israel selling it out is for own its own good is the height of chutzpah.

I don’t know whether to cry or laugh at Obama’s waving a piece of paper and declaring this century’s equivalent of “peace in our time” deal makes a heck of a lot of difference.

As Hillary Clinton is fond of saying, “what difference does it make?” Zero and no signed agreement is going to stop Iran any more than it stopped North Korea

The bottom line is Obama has paved the way for Iran to build a nuclear bomb and all of us are in greater danger now than ever before. Imagine Islamic terrorists armed with nuclear bombs and the picture is terrifying.

Obama and Kerry don’t care. They have a diplomatic triumph now (however dubious its real value) and whatever might happen afterwards is of no concern to them because they’ll soon be gone from office.

Iran and Islamic terrorists around the world are laughing at us.

I refuse to believe that America isn’t keeping a close watch on this. It may seem as if America is looking the other way but in no way could America be that stupid. I think America is playing Iraq, just as they, are playing us.

No way is America giving Iraq a free pass.

Not that simple on April 2, 2015 at 5:11 pm

Some “may refuse to believe that America isn’t keeping a close watch” on Iran’s nuclear program, but they are missing the point of this article, as well as James Robbins’ article in USA Today. History proves that these deals won’t prevent Iran from getting the bomb. Indeed, Netanyahu is absolutely correct when he said in March 2015 that a deal with Iran “will not prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. It would all but guarantee that Iran gets those weapons, lots of them.”

As for where Obama really stands on this deal with the Devil, there can be no doubt that he is a liar, not a fool or a dupe. Moreover, I don’t believe that Obama nor even Kerry had any real role in the design of this plan. They are merely floor salesmen for far more powerful interests, and are merely carrying out their instructions.

The fact is that US foreign policy is frequently developed under of the auspices of special cabal-like groups like the Council on Foreign Relations (“CFR”). And, of course, it’s no accident that Obama and Hillary (as well as Bill) Clinton have been affiliated with the CFR. Now, I know that the CFR also has many ceremonial members, like Chelsea Clinton and Angelina Jolie, but don’t be misled by such “celebrity” members into thinking that the CFR is just a social/political club of the well connected.

If you follow the CFR closely, you will learn that getting nuclear weapons into the hands of Iran IS the secret US foreign policy. Israel KNOWS this, which is why most sensible Israelis are alarmed at US policy actions.

If you don’t believe me, read a CFR article published in Foreign Affairs magazine called “Why Iran Should Get the Bomb–Nuclear Balancing Would Mean Stability,” by Kenneth Waltz.

Here’s a little excerpt to give you a flavor of what the real architects of US foreign policy are saying:

“One reason the danger of a nuclear Iran has been grossly exaggerated is that the debate surrounding it has been distorted by misplaced worries and fundamental misunderstandings of how states generally behave in the international system. The first prominent concern, which undergirds many others, is that the Iranian regime is innately irrational. Despite a widespread belief to the contrary, Iranian policy is made not by “mad mullahs” but by perfectly sane ayatollahs who want to survive just like any other leaders. Although Iran’s leaders indulge in inflammatory and hateful rhetoric, they show no propensity for self-destruction. It would be a grave error for policymakers in the United States and Israel to assume otherwise.”

Get it? It would be GOOD for Iran to get the bomb. After all, Iran is really run by rational, reasonable leaders who would never knowingly sacrifice their own people (while they are safely away somewhere else) simply to achieve the goal of annihilating Israel, right?

These are very dangerous times. And the US is following a policy that history proves will not end well. As Mark Twain said, “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it does rhyme.”

Ralph Adamo on April 2, 2015 at 6:11 pm

Ralph, I don’t buy the CFR biz, but I will comment that Waltz has always been a tremendous idiot, so of course has done well on both academic and political circles.

His claim about the “rationality” of the ayatollahs is in fact an ASSUMPTION necessary to make the stability of a bipolar world work game theoretically. Whether or in what way the ayatollahs are rational is not something an international relations theorist can know.

But even worse, a nuclear Iran does not, even theoretically, produce a stable bipolar world. Rather, it helps create a different international system structure, “Unit Veto.” This system structure–created when all states have nukes–is particularly dangerous. With Iran having nukes, Arabia and other Gulf states will gain them too. As we approach a system where any member can “veto” any other member, the likelihood of nuclear destruction increases geometrically.

As Morton Kaplan wrote, Waltz got EVERYTHING wrong in his theoretical work. And this was before he was an international “player.”

skzion on April 2, 2015 at 7:19 pm

Skzion, I know that when the CFR is mentioned in connection with the direction of US foreign policy, there’s a tendency to downplay the CFR’s role as just “conspiracy” speculation. But the fact that the CFR has played a dominate role in government is undeniable. One study found, for example, that of 502 government officials surveyed from 1945 to 1972, more than half were CFR members. Under Eisenhower, 40% of the top U.S. foreign policy officials were CFR members. Under Truman, 42% of the top posts were members. During the Kennedy administration, 51% were members, and under Johnson, 57% were members. And the CFR didn’t go away with Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, GHW Bush, Clinton, GW Bush, nor Obama.

As for Waltz–who died in 2013–say what you will about him, the fact remains that he was one of the key CFR establishment figures, along with Kissinger and Brzezinski–neither of whom could be considered a friend of Israel’s by any stretch.

I should also point out that a month after Waltz’s article was published, Netanyahu said: “Some have even said that Iran with nuclear weapons would stabilize the Middle East,” referring to Waltz and others at the CFR. “I think people who say this have set a new standard for human stupidity,” Netanyahu added. Nonetheless, this is the blueprint of current US foreign policy, developed well before Obama emerged out of nowhere.

Ralph Adamo on April 2, 2015 at 9:15 pm

Ralph, I notice that your figures for CFR are rather old. Regardless, that most general MDs are members of the AMA doesn’t mean that the AMA pulls many medical strings. A country club may be gathering for certain elites without the club wielding power per set.

          Good news about Waltz.

I saw this Jew-hating joker on the tube @ the gym (all the sudden his disgusting face took up all the TV screens) and I swore at him, gave him the finger (in my mind), blanched, rolled my eyes & kept calling him a malignant narcissistic liar. Thank all the Obama-Putin dupes who voted for this psychopathic fool twice. The gift that keeps on giving.

And that is the gist of it. You have to have negligible brain cells to not know he and his administration hate Israel and really love Iran as I love Australia. That’s pretty sick. At least there is a lot to love about Oz. You have to be an effing retard to not know this administration is on the side of the Moooooooslims since they infected the Office.

Just look how Lois Lerner…a nice, little brown shirt…will NOT be prosecuted by the JD and that chubby hornbag Menendez is going to be 3 years after he should have been. That’s because the pervo stepped on Donk toes in his vocal disagreement RE: Iran & Cuba. Just as burn-victim faced pest Valerie Jarrett promised…those against the Obama-Putin regime were gonna get theirs. And their little dogs, too.

It’s all so predictable. The other issue is the indifference of the selfie-stick addicted Proles who have let this once great country circle the commode. It makes me sick.

But all I can do is laugh at this point and hope the Aliens from my REAL home planet pick me up before the hurly burly begins.

Skunky on April 2, 2015 at 5:49 pm

And then there is the deliberate and mocking symbolism of this agreement. Right before the Jewish holiday of Passover. Is it beyond belief that at least some of the signatories of this agreement see this as a reversal of the events of Passover?

It is not hard to imagine anti-semitic signers of this agreement chortling among themselves that this will give the Jewish community quite a present on the eve of Passover.

Degrading the whole meaning of Passover by implement an agreement that goes against the theme of this holiday. Hard to think the timing is accidental.

And, to use a cliche, the silence of the mainstream Jewish community, and the Republicans is deafening. Granted that it was probably deliberate to institute this agreement on the eve of Passover and Easter (times of peace, when people are preparing for the holidays), given the importance of these events, couldn’t the Republicans bring themselves to end their recess, and the mainstream Jewish community bring themselves to tell the truth about this agreement, even for a few days?

Little Al on April 2, 2015 at 6:04 pm

DS, you know very well that I’m no fan or backer of Obama, but I believe that he’s being misled on this situation with the Iranians on enabling them to build their nuclear arsenal, where in the past, the IRI have overtly stated that they’ll use a nuclear attack on the US (no, this NOT the logical-fallacy of appeal to emotion); which constitutes to evidence all over the internet.

At the end of the day with Kerry and Obama, they’ve exhibited that they’re “pluralist” (all former US Presidents have been Pluralists, both Republican and Democrat alike) on displaying reciprocity for our enemies, which can be treasonous!

Sean R. on April 2, 2015 at 6:08 pm

Obama’s attitude with regard to this one-sided deal is clearly the antithesis of Reagan’s “Trust but verify” advice. More specifically, Obama’s stance – and by extension, those of all his minions – is more on the order of, “Just trust us, and don’t ask any questions.” Which is more on the order of a mugger in a dark alley pointing a gun at somebody’s ribs, or a carjacker who takes over a woman’s car with her small kid in the back seat.

ConcernedPatriot on April 2, 2015 at 6:12 pm

This is another example of the mendacity that enshrouds the Obama Administration. Barack Obama is an anti-Western and anti-American leader. As Debbie noted, Barack Obama is not a fool. What he is is far worse.

Worry on April 2, 2015 at 6:56 pm

Obama is assuredly never really “the smartest man in the room” (I was going to say maybe when he attends inner-city rallies or visits daycares, but he is always accompanied by agents and handlers who I’m sure that most of have higher IQs than our usurper-in-chief) as he undoubtedly fancies himself, but he’s not stupid.

Most importantly he knows that he has carte blanche because of his skin color and can accomplish the agenda of his subversive backers whose goal among others is the destruction Israel and destabilization of the M.E.

It will be sad, sickening and possibly foreseeable the end of the Jewish homeland and once again the murder of millions of Jews.

I believe that Obama is a closet Iran supporter and wishes them to actually have a nuke!!! There is no other way to describe everything that’s gone on on his watch on this issue!

Iran, though, is another paper tiger like Saudi Arabia. Sent some troops to Tikrit to help the Iraqis take it back from ISIS, and retreated when they couldn’t pull that off! But if it gets nukes, it’ll be far more dangerous.

With Pakistan having a nuke, I think things are already pretty ugly, since the Islamics can get their nuke whenever they want it!

America hasn’t been the leader of the free world since “war-weary” citizens conceded defeat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In fact that title has belonged to Europe ever since then because many criticism weary citizens were secretly only too happy to let it slip.
So today Brussels and the UN provide moral leadership while the US skulks as the muscle-bound cuckold who can’t do anything right.
If fact it can’t even capitulate to Iranian aspirations without making an ass of itself.
Because deep down it really needs to make an ass of itself.
That’s what happens when you see yourself reflected in eyes of people that despise you.

So with America’s world leadership ceded to Brussels what is the world outlook?
Quite un-European actually.
Europe the artificial construct of the Marshall Plan never really had an independent existence of its own.
Because deep down in places they don’t talk about at parties they don’t really want to.

D4ku4N on April 2, 2015 at 9:53 pm

It’s not just Iran that’s laughing. Saddam is laughing too. He’s been vindicated posthumously. He was just a little too far ahead of his time.
The America he thought he was dealing with is the real and tangible inheritance of Iran.

D4ku4N on April 2, 2015 at 9:59 pm

Thank you, Debbie for your excellent analysis over a horrfic speech by Obama.

I do have something to add.

Obama (starting at 31:18 of the video): “So when you hear the critics of the deal sound off, ask them a simple question: ‘Do you really think that this verifiable deal, if fully implemented, backed by the world’s major powers, is a worse option than the risk of another war in the Middle East?'”

First of all, the premise that this Iran deal is verifiable is false. Debbie’s post, including her two sources posted here, already explained why it is not.

Second, I believe that the best way to answer Obama’s question is by channeling back from the dead for a moment the “Peace in our time” guy.

British PM Neville Chamberlain in 1938: “So when you hear the critics of the deal [between Britain and Hitler’s Nazi Germany at Czechoslovakia’s expense] sound off, ask them a simple question: ‘Do you really think that this verifiable deal, if fully implemented … is a worse option than the risk of another war in Europe?'” (In case anyone misunderstands, I know that he didn’t actually say this, I’m merely using this as an analogy.)

We all know the answer to that question. Only, the answer is even clearer here. At least Hitler wasn’t trying (at that point in history) to get a nuclear weapon. Whereas if Iran under the evil Mullahs were to (G-d forbid) get their hands on nuclear weapons, it would make WWII and the Holocaust look like a picnic by comparision–and that is saying a lot. The thing is, better that we go to war against Iran before they get a nuclear weapon, than after.

(As for why Iran hasn’t been attacked yet, Obama isn’t the only villian. Bush 41 and Israel’s PM Ehud Olmert also didn’t do anything about it and Israel’s PM Bibi Netanyahu hasn’t been doing it either through the present.)

JeffE on April 2, 2015 at 11:02 pm

Sultan Barry Sotero is hardly a closet iran sympathizer — he does his treason boldly and in the open, knowing full well the cowards in congress will not dare to oppose the first schwarzenneger “president!”

No one dare call out “Liar” when he speaks, but clearly, every sane adult by now must realize that sultan Barry is in cahoots with iran and islam! After this sham “restriction” on iran’s nuke program, he also removed iran from the terror list and welcomed them with open arms with his commie/socialist friends (Russia and China, and thew UN is anxiously awaiting their orders to destroy Israel, too).
He even wants to visit iran and hear the roar of approvals from his terrorist allies in Teheran! Prefer he visit GITMO for a lengthy sojourn.

The GOP cowards must wake up and act — for I anticipate a POTUS “fatwa” substituting sharia law for that pesky Constitution is coming next. Barry did call the US a “moslem nation,” and that will be the final nail in our coffin. the “transformation” will be complete.

Then the cleansing will begin in earnest!

I have a long commute to and from work so I thank God for the radio. As such sometimes I listen to my local music station or talk radio on the AM on the way home. Yesterday I slummed and listened to Vannity yammer on about how that crooked chubby hornbag (thanks Skunky)Menendez is going down quicker than a bag of doughnuts into Mike Moore’s pie hole. Then he cut into the speech being given by our crackpot CinC the Dear Leader. I was getting so steamed that I was getting white knuckled on the steering wheel(which is hard for me seeing that I’m Black…lol). Like I was saying the mad mullahs in Iran have got to be laughing their sheets off about how arrogantly stupid Odumbo has been. Through that pompous windbag John Kerry(who served in Vietnam) Obama thinks that his deal with Iran will hold water. Debbie summed it up with the key statements that Odimwit made with that ever stupid look on his face. A look that says that I’m the smartest politician ever. Smarter than that fool Netanyahu and way smarter that my predecessor Bush. As far as I’m concerned Odummy is a blithering idiot who is a clever schemer. Clever enough to after almost 7 years take my beloved country and slide it into the crapper. His foreign policy is a gross joke and Rome (the Mid East) is still burning while O’Nero is fiddling. His whole speech about Iran (who if you remember said was a tiny country that posed no threat to us)was a pack of lies. But to hear liberal media Obama butt monkeys like Stephanopoulos and Schieffer it will be legacy building historic. Yeah right. I challenge any liberal dunce to name one thing that(NCO)Neville Chamberlain Obama has done right as far as foreign policy. Iran is on its way to becoming a nuclear power thanks to the jackanapes in this administration. Oh wait can I write that and not be labeled racist seeing as how liberal are sensitive when it comes to the “astute” O’Team.
