Debbie Schlussel: Didn't Their Religion Hijack Them?
In the days after 9/11, we heard a lot of pap about how the hijackers "hijacked their religion," Islam.
Really?
If the never-before-heard tapes of United Flight 93 played at today's session of the Zacarias Moussaoui terror trial are any indication, we think otherwise. As usual, the most common utterance--repeated constantly--by hijacker Ziad Jarrah and accomplices was: "Allah Hu Akbar! (Allah is the Greatest!) Allah Hu Akbar!"
It begs the question: Did they really hijack their religion? Or DID IT HIJACK THEM?
