Debbie Schlussel: Major League Hypocrite: Anti-Semitic Imam Chastises Mel Gibson; Says Jews Only Responsible for "Some" Wars

By Debbie Schlussel

How do you spell "hypocrisy"? I spell it, "E-L-A-H-I." That's the last name of the latest Mel Gibson critic, Imam Mohammed Elahi.

A true sign that the uproar over Mel Gibson's anti-Semitic comments have truly gotten out of hand is when an openly anti-Semitic Muslim cleric chastises Mel Gibson for being anti-Semitic. That cleric is Elahi.

Should This Man Be Calling Mel Gibson an Anti-Semite?

I've written a great deal about Elahi (here, here, here, here, here, and here, among many others), who is an agent of the Government of Iran and terrorist group Hezbollah. The guy constantly defends Iran, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's anti-Semitic rantings, and terrorist groups Hezbollah and HAMAS. And he's been given a forum to do so by spineless, back-stabbing phony, Detroit Spews Editorial Page Editor Nolan Finley, who gave Hezbollah agent Elahi a regular column in the paper.

Incredibly, yesterday, the Detroit Spews asked Elahi to comment on Mel Gibson's comments. Instead of shutting his extremist mouth, Elahi chose to accuse Gibson of anti-Semitism which pales in comparison with his own. And he used the opportunity to attack Israel--of course! He disagreed with Gibson that Jews are responsible for all wars, just some of them. Well, thanks for the clarification, buddy.

Pot. Kettle. Black. Mohammed Ali Elahi. Nolan Finley.

Of note is that Elahi was asked whether Gibson can rehabilitate himself from his comments. Given Elahi's experience, the answer should be: Just put on a Shia Islamic turban and robe, lie on your application for U.S. citizenship, support Hezbollah and Iran, and start an extremist mosque where many of your congregants are convicted of Hezbollah-related crimes. If Mel Gibson did that, he'd have federal officials (like U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy III) gushing all over him, in addition to an obtuse Detroit News opinion editor.

As Elahi knows, doing those things will allow one to get away with statements that would make Mel Gibson blush.

Hmmm . . . Should a Guy Who Embraces Hezbollah Lecture Mel Gibson?
