Debbie Schlussel: Congrats to Columbus, Georgia--World Little League Champs!

By Debbie Schlussel

Despite all the media hype and bluster about the 6'8" "Saudi" little leaguer (who is actually an American boy named Aaron Durley), in the end it was a team from the good ole' USA that won this year's Little League World Series.

Congratulations to the team of boys from Columbus, Georgia (and manager Randy Morris), which bested the Japanese team from Kawaguchi City, Japan, yesterday, and won the Series title.

This marks the second year in a row that U.S. teams have won the Little League World Series. That hasn't happened since 1982-83. (In 1992-93 a U.S. team won both years, but the second year was won only because the Philippines squad was stripped of the title after using overage players.)

USA! USA!
