Debbie Schlussel: A Pakistani Muslim I Dig
I love reading the very tiny minority of Muslims who actually see the light. But I always remember that people like Ahmer Muzammil are unfortunately the very-shunned exception, NOT the openly-embraced rule. He lives in the States, which explains why Muzammil is still brave enough to write stuff like this on a Pakistani website, Chowk. He'd never live another day, writing this from Karachi:
Get Over the Victim SyndromeWe whine and we moan about how oppressed Muslims are all over the world. We blame Jews and Christians for wreaking havoc in our lives. How true is that notion? To some degree I think it might be accurate so some whining and some moaning might be justified but I am always amazed at the silence of Muslim masses as well as the "intelligentsia" for not raising hell when the culprits of our misery are from within. . . .
Read the rest of Muzammil's column. And the rest of his enlightened work.
