Debbie Schlussel: Favorite New Anti-Semitic Slur, Courtesy of Animal Rightists
I thought I'd heard every anti-Semitic epithet imaginable. They were becoming old hat. But this one is a new one:
Members of the "Vegan Scholars and Writers Roundtable" (you can be both a vegan AND a scholar?) are upset that, in my post about their attempt to ruin the 91st annual Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest (on the 4th of July), I credited PETA and not their groups--NYC Animal Rights and VivaVegie groups--for their disgusting signs. So, they've called me a:
Kosher Cadaver-Sucker

Gee, that'll teach me to get my animal rights groups wrong. I stand corrected. And silly me. I thought cadavers generally referred to humans and that carcasses were used for the animal version. FYI, animal bones often make the soup very tasty.
Here's the full text posted by some female Tofu-and-Edamame-Sucker named Ariel:
Still no press, but two more blogs, one of which erroneously identifies NYC A.R. and VivaVegie groups and signs as PETA's. Room for comments. Scholarly knock-yourself/them-out opportunity. Pics of Pig Chef, Penelo Pea Pod in second one. Blogged by cadaver-suckers, kosher(?) as one/they may be. Go get 'em. X-post, NYC Animal Rights.
My apologies for misidentifying the wrong nutcase group.
Sincerely,
Proud Kosher Cadaver-Sucker
