Debbie Schlussel: Guess What? Less Citizens with Guns = More Crime
The Small Arms Survey--an annual Geneva, Switzerland-based study about guns in circulation--backs up Second Amendment advocates (like me). It shows that more gun ownership correlates with lower crime rates in a country.
The study reports that civilians across the globe own 650 million small arms, 75% of all guns in circulation.

While Americans have the highest percentage and number of guns per capita (270 million--or 9 guns for every ten Americans), that's a good thing. Keith Krause, director of the Small Arms Survey, cited low gun ownership and high crime rates in Latin American countries as dispelling the myth that guns and high crime rates/violence go together.
"There's no clear relationship between more guns and higher levels of violence," Krause said . . . . He said studies had shown that gun violence often occurred in places undergoing rapid urban growth.
Amen to that.
