Debbie Schlussel: Out of Touch Elitism: The Silly Priorities of Celebrities
Yet another example of why celebs shouldn't be involved with politics or any policy decisions. Sean "Diddy" Combs--the self-anointed head of the "Choose or Lose"/"Rock the Vote" movement--held his annual "White party" over Labor Day weekend. You must wear white to the party, or you cannot get in.
Billy Joel's wife, Katie Lee, was turned away. She was wearing a light shade of cream and was offered the option of going home to change into pure white dress. She declined, choosing to go home and stay there. Good for her.

Yes, that's the guy we need telling America's 18-year-olds to vote--the one who won't let you in if you wear off-white. I don't want kids who listen to him choosing my Prez. It's good when we get low turnout among that demo. Anyway, the guy can't even decide on his own name. First, he was Sean Combs, then "Puff Daddy", then "P. Diddy", and now just "Diddy." Whatever.
So much for Diddy's constant whine about White-on-Black racism (which certainly hasn't kept him from becoming a gazillionaire, courtesy of White consumers who buy his stuff). He shows us color-consciousness in yet another stupid way.
The White obsession is a little weird.
