Debbie Schlussel: Schlussel Cited in USA Today Editorial on Mrs. Bush's Hypocritical Hijab
Check it out. USA Today, in a great--though not complete--editorial cites me on Mrs. Bush's anti-sartorial non-splendorous Islamic headgear. I always love saying "I made USA Today, Today":
Laura Bush Ends Up Wearing a Headscarf After AllWe don't normally cover women's fashion, but On Deadline feels a special responsibility to share with you this photograph of first lady Laura Bush wearing a headscarf.
Last week, a White House spokeswoman told USA TODAY that Bush wasn't required to wear a head covering during her trip to Saudi Arabia and other parts of the Middle East.
We ran a photo the other day that shows Bush with two women in cloaks. But blogger Debbie Schlussel says Bush did in fact wear a headscarf while visiting the Kingdom, and uses this official photo to prove her point.

Someone who goes by the pseudonym siyamee posted another photo of the cloaked first lady on Flickr. Blogger dotsson posts a series of photos that ends with this sentence: "Tada! I wonder what the Republicans in Washington will make of this picture."
The most interesting thing about this editorial was that when I clicked on the link to my site, I was forced to see a Dell computer ad first. Pretty sneaky . . . but not as sneaky as Mrs. Bush's lying PR people who made a point to tell USA Today, last week, that she absolutely wouldn't don the headgear of oppression . . . but then did for our Saudi perpetrators, er . . . "allies" in the War on Terror.
Thanks again to reader "greatcometof1577," for that tip. Couldn't have done it without you . . . or the rest of you, my highly-valued readers.my
