Debbie Schlussel: Just Like The ICE Princess: Govt. Contracts & Jobs Are Not Based on What You Know, But . . .
. . . With whom you're sleeping.
Seems that EOD Technology (EODT) got inside info to win $2.5 million in contracts with the Army to provide private security because Eric Barton, a manager of the company in Iraq, was having an affair with Air Force Capt. Sherrie Remington, a contracting officer.
USA Today did a Freedom of Information Act request and got the disturbing scoop.
The San Antonio Express-News, which also broke the story, reports that from 2005 through spring 2006, when the affair was allegedly taking place, the company's contracts increased from $3.8 million to $106 million. Nice work if you can get it.
In the cheesiest part of this, Capt. Remington set up a Yahoo account to communicate with him, in which her user name was "loveshackiraq."
So, let's see. The unqualified, incompetent Julie "Blackface Originality" Myers got her job atop Immigration and Customs Enforcement because a) She was sleeping with the boss' Chief of Staff; b) Her uncle was an important then-General; and c) She was in charge of choosing the pick for the job and chose herself.
Now, this guy gets the contract for his company by sleeping with the right people.
Gee, I'm so glad the Bushies have conducted themselves with so much more honesty and integrity than the Clintonistas. Aren't you?
Yup, regardless of Administration or political party, it's not what you know. It's who you are sleeping with, er . . . "know."
