Debbie Schlussel: Quote of the Day: Rodents Are People, Too
Animal rights extremists are in the news, today, yet again. Twice as un-nice.
Who cares about slave labor and lack of human rights in Communist China, when animal rights are so much more important there?
PETA a/k/a PUTAh (People for the Unethical Treatment of Animals and humans) is upset that China doesn't treat rats nicely. The Year of the Rat is about to begin, and the PUTAh fanatics don't realize that in China, the motto is: "Rats. It's What's For Dinner."
PUTAh is asking China to treat rats with kindness and respect. Says Coco Yu of PETA's Asia-Pacific brnach:
Rats sing, they dream, and they express empathy for others.
Rats singing and dreaming? Um, Coco, "Ratatouille" was JUST A MOVIE. It's fiction.
