Debbie Schlussel: From Superbowl Loser to Errand Chick, The Slow Decline of Tom Brady-ette
Looks like I was totally on target when I named New England Patriots QB Tom Brady as 2007 DebbieSchlussel.com Woman of the Year.
And this year is not much better for him. First, he goes from the whole press coronating him as all-time football great forever to losing the Superbowl to the New York Giants. And now, he's been reduced to playing errand chick for supermodel girlfriend (actually, she's apparently the man in the relationship now) Gisele Bundchen, going to pick up her fanmail (and opening it--nice). Wow, that's kinda shabby work for a multi-millionaire who was this close to winning his gazillionth Superbowl.
And what's more, he enlists a New York cop to protect him from the dangerous "criminals" videotaping him. Let's hear it for cleaning up New York's streets from "violent criminals" with video cameras and paychecks from TMZ.
Watch the hilarious video (the photogs' comments are what make it, so turn your sound up). Best line: "Hey, Tom, [New York Giants player Michael] Strahan's around the block."
TMZ asks: "Tom [Brady] or Tony [Romo], Who Wears the Biggest Skirt?"
Indeed.
Exit Question: How long 'til she sends him out to buy tampons . . . or has that already taken place long ago?
I vote the latter.
