HOprah Watch: Oprah, the Store Was CLOSED!

Printer Friendly

By Debbie Schlussel

Yes, I did see the Oprah "Hermes Kowtow/Look at Me, I'm Giving $10 Mill" show, yesterday. And I wasn't going to write about it, because I figured everyone else would be.

But, due to popular demand, I've changed my mind. Basically four things happened on the show (besides Jennifer Aniston, about whom we DON'T care):

1) Oprah announced that Hermes wasn't closed, but "they were in the process of being closed." Hello, HOprah . . . that means the store was CLOOOOOSED!

2) Oprah announced that it is now okay to buy an Hermes Birkin Bag (an $8,000 purse--Thanks for the tip, Oprah, that this average-priced item is now off the HOprah prohibited purchase list) because Hermes USA's president came on the show to personally apologize to the Almighty, Her Excellency, Queen HOprah, and because everyone who now works for the company must undergo "sensitivity training." That means: If you work for Hermes and you are "in the process of closing," you must stop everything for a haughty celebrity who is a minority; for all Whites and average people, the store is still closed.

3) Billionaire Oprah announced that she is donating "$10 million of my own money" to Hurricane Katrina relief. Why did she have to announce it? Would she have donated this relative drop in the bucket without the publicity? Don't count on it.

4) Billionaire Oprah asked the average stay-at-home Oprah viewer to help her. "But I need your help" in buying stuff for the homes of the victims, she announced. She needs out help? Why can't she donate a little more out of her billions and take care of it herself? And why did this take three weeks, while doing her "Look at ME on the Watery Dead Bodies with My Celeb Buddies" shows from New Orleans and Houston, took only a week?

Oprah announced that corporations can donate through her modestly-named "Angel Network," too. No, corporations don't want to get the recognition, themselves. They'd rather donate to Oprah and let her get the credit for their money, right?

I just can't believe the degree of stupidity in this country that all these people fall for all of her bull****. There are literally tens of millions of pinheads in this country who believe in this closet racist's faux-sincerity (not only as it pertains to Katrina, but on EVERY issue).

These mindless morons must be your typical DemocRAT voter.

Hey hey, these are not your typical Democrat voters Thee_Bruno. that fat whore is one of them Neo-lib elitists. that dumb bitch uses the race card to get her way. Like O.J.? That skunk knows how to play the game and that rich "C word " just gloms off everyone...including the poor folks down south. $10 million. Ha! I gave more and I didn't put my name on the cashier check. Now is that a true Democrat who cares? Nope. She's whoring herself the http://www.dlc.org

Though it was wrong for Belal Simjee to insult Ms. Schlussel in his e-mail (posted previously), is it not equally reprehensible for Ms. Schlussel to label Oprah Winfrey a HO.
Furthermore, why is it acceptable to laugh at the misfortune of a man who lost his life in an accident (RE: Mid-East Darwin Award Winner of the Day)?
Also, implying that he was a jihadist merely because he worked for a mid-east embassy is surely disingenuous.

Oprah should be ashamed for only donating 10 million bucks. Pocket change for her. Seems her greed has the best of her.

Wow, if I'm not mistaken, Hermes had her running scared. I guess she was afraid they'd sue her for all the bad publicity. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing was a ruse to snag a bunch of free Hermes goods in the end, to make up for the "hardship".

And, at the same time, a warning to other retailers that dare to defy her. Anyone who doesn't do her bidding will get outed on her show.

Oprah needs OUR help? Her donating $10 million is like us average Joes donating a buck! Shame on her....

I had no idea Oprah was black.

oj49, did you hear the Oprah interview on the Howard Stern Show? You are correct, she is not a ho but a whore. I loved what Stern says, "At least I don't have to kiss Oprah's ass." "F" that whore

Hermes is further proof why France is not a moral "light onto the nations." Victor Hugo could've predicted that they'd punk out to Hoprah.
