I'm glad you agree then. Because a lot of so-called conservatives in America have jumped on the "Oh, but Turkey is okay" bandwagon. No, actually they're just too smart to say it at U.N. meetings but it's a very anti-Semitic, anti-American, anti-anything-that's-not-Muslim country in a considerable part of its population. More and more Turks have jumped on THAT bandwagon! Turkey is less fundamentalist, but that's not the same as less Islamist in a political sense. Then again, that distinction must be made with several Islamic terrorist groups and unfortunately it isn't in the media. Not everyone who agrees with someone like Bin Laden's political outlook agrees with his approach to religion beyond the jihad part, and it's a mistake to think otherwise. But with Turkey is the easiest country to make that distinction because it was that country's history that provided us with the most vivid example of it. The Ottoman Empire was very Islamist but not fundamentalist at all.

I saw Busey a few years ago with his attorney getting coffee waiting for one of his court appearances, which screw-up I don't remember. He looked very humbled and pretty stupid in a cheesey looking suit. He's even brighter now after the brain surgery.

Stealing organs comes right out of that ridiculous other bleeding heart fantasy of a movie that got rave reviews. The movie had INS agents chasing aliens in NY, please, those agents haven't chased anything that wasn't glazed and round in 25 years!

Well, I'd say the one good thing that can come of this never-has-been actor selling out to the enemies of civilization is that it lets the public see Turkey for what it really is. If they had it together in my mother country they'd start making movies with American whore actors too, believe me they'd be much different. We'd love the kind of movies my cousins back there would make if they had a lot of money, and the Hollywood establishment would absolutely hate them.

I am very disappointed in Gary Busey. He became a Christian a few years ago, according to reports. I cannot, therefore, understand his defamation of Jews in this movie.

I heard the same thing, but obviously it does't mean much to him. Granted, some Christians are still anti-Semitic but no true Christian would work in concert with Muslims to defame Jews.

Heh, check out the IMDB plot summary. It has that, "In a story that is TOTALLY COMPLETELY TRUE..." aspect to it that reminds me of semi-retarded frat-boys who swear they once saw "some guy" do "this really cool thing."

Note: the "totally true" event the summary refers is, well, ... not so much.

Seriously, It's hard to believe that Turkey is a member of NATO and was once one of Israel's few friends in the Muslim world. For any American actor to be involved in this is a shock. I absolutely agree that at this point in time such a movie is just asking for trouble. In recent years, government-owned television stations in Egypt and Syria have broadcast dramas that repeat the blood libel. So has anyone here seen American History X? Or Schindler's List? Both fine films, both featuring characters that are clearly anti-semitic, and in the case of American History X, one of those characters is played by Edward Norton, one of the finest actors in the last 50 years. Is he, (or the film) racist or anti-semitic for portraying those themes in a film? Of course not, because we are talking about art, and art is not always pretty. Not every movie can be the Sound Of Music. Sometimes you need an Apocalypse Now.
