Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model is a Leftist . . . or Just an Airhead
For those of you who've been ogling the 2006 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, you might be interested to know that cover model Elle Macpherson is a leftist . . . or an incredible airhead. She appears topless on the cover, second from the left.
While she looks great on the outside (she's third from left here), the bikinied one's views on the inside appear to be quite ugly.
In Friday's USA Today, in the "What Are You Watching?" feature, McPherson told reporter Karen Thomas that she is watching "Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media." Says Elle:
He (the MIT linguist and political activist) is a fascinating character, and the subject is really interesting.
Noam Chomsky is a far leftist, loon, kook, subversive, hate-America-firster, pro-Islamist enemy in our midst. David Horowitz wrote a great encapsulation of "The Sick Mind of Noam Chomsky." We hoped the swimsuit model's video choice was just an aberration. But no-no, uh-uh. In an interview with Easy Living magazine, the 40-year-old Aussie bikini model shows us she's a philo-Chomsky-ite.
What are you reading at the moment? Elle McPherson: I read all kinds of things. I love Paul Auster and I'm reading Hegemony Or Survival by Noam Chomsky, which is really interesting. I read in bed and I read when I travel.
FYI, the full name of the Chomsky book she's reading is "Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance (The American Empire Project)". You get the point. Chomsky says America is a warring country seeking to build an empire, not a liberator trying to achieve peace, freedom, and democracy.

Heard enough about Elle McPherson's new political muses' views? We have. But, unfortunately, Noam Chomsky continues to draw a small, loyal nutty following.
Who knew a beautiful Sport Illustrated swimsuit model was among them? Shows us, once again, that beauty is only skin-deep.

more about SI than bikini issue:
i've not looked at SI, publication or on-line, since peter king made his, "hey college of cardinals, give us a pope worth something" comment upon the passing of JPII. the comment was made in his monday morning 1/4 back column.
after the Wie set-up last year in her debut tournament by SI columnist, it is true they are only out for a hitpiece.
the lines in MSM are converging(?), dayn perry at fox and Gene Wojciechowski at ESPN on-line editions, have recently inserted political commentary into their respective so-called columns.
david wells and john rocker columns come to mind. just a hitpiece.
if sport columnists want to write a blog that's fine, but i don't want to go to ESPN or FOX sports for political commentary.

Giving Elle McPhereson's reading tastes credence makes about as much sense as giving Pamela Anderson's opinion of an American icon (Harland Sanders) credence. They're famous for wearing nothing and having nothing in the grey matter department.

WOW! I had heard about Noam Chomsky before but hadn't paid much attention. Thanks for the link to Horowitz's article, Debbie.
That is just absolutely scary and sick someone like that has an ounce of influence in America. He is more of a sicko than bin Laden in my book. Chomsky is a coward trying to hide behind an intellectual veneer.
Oh, from the article, I loved seeing Chomsky is a hero of our favorite hero Bono. It figures.
Of course, none of this stops Elle and Chomsky from making a fantastic living off America. I'll never in a million years understand how these whackos like Chomsky live with themselves, they have to be truly miserable people.
I think Elle is just trying to sound cool, attempting the old "I'm not one of those dumb models" tricks.
Let me say it again, CHOMSKY IS A YELLOW COWARD.

Deb, Elle Macpherson is an airhead. You think she has a logical thought in her head? She probably thinks that the capital of California is Los Angeles or that Dubai will be purchasing the Grand Central Station in New York...Ha! What a laugh, she's not that smart, so don't give her credit

Noam Chomsky by the way does not practice what he preaches (surprise, surprise). He has a diversified protfolio of fortune 500 stocks, a multi million dollar home in an exclusively white nieghborhood. Peter Scweizer's book "Do AS I Say (Not As I Do)" eviscerates him.

Playboy magazine used to publish a "Playmate Profile" on the back of their centerfolds...as if?! This is merely an attempt to "personalize" a superficial person and their profession. An interview with a General Motors Corvette could...arguably offer a more interesting quotes.
