Immigration BS Eve: A Few Questions for the Prez
On Immigration Pretense Eve (that means the calm before the giant Presidential immigration BS), we have a few questions for President Bush--in light of his decision to use the National Guard on the border--that we doubt he'll answer tonight:
1) If you are serious about a "comprehensive" immigration policy, why did you nominate and recess-appoint a woman (The ICE Princess) who is completely unqualified and incompetent to do the job? Where is the real law enforcement figure running the show?
2) How is the National Guard accountable, when the guard answers to liberal do-nothing immigration-lax governors like Bill "The Pro Baseball Draft Dodger" Richardson (D-New Mexico) and Janet Napolitano (D-Arizona)? Federal taxpayers will foot the bill, while governors, like those two, will call the shots. What happens when there is a disagreement between the Border Patrol and Richardson?
3) It is estimated that the Prez will propose paying for 6,000 National Guard troops on the border. Why not just hire 6,000 new Border Patrol agents? The border is already "militarized" (contrary to what Mexican President Vicente Fox claims), it's just a matter of uniforms. What happens when Guard personnel disagree with Customs and Border Protection personnel?
4) Will these National Guard personnel actually be assigned to protect the border? Or will they be put on Guest Worker verification duty? Who will pay for the new Guest Worker bureaucracy?
5) Bush proposes to put the National Guard on duty for a year? What happens after that? Look for it to be a show program that sunsets after that. Thanks for nothing.
The best thing that could happen: Bush does not get the amnesty a/k/a guest worker program that he wants and the bill does not pass. If he thinks getting "tough" (for now) on the border will make those of us in his conservative base ease up on our opposition to more amnesty, he's delusional.
And maybe he is.

Well it is my blog, so of course I m going to trot some comments inline.
I will preface this by saying two things. 1, talk is cheap. No matter how good this is, we need congress to back it up and actually do something, or it’s just an... [Read More]

1) That's YOUR thing...something i don't pay attention to
2) WHAT is a "pro baseball draft dodger"??? SINCE the governor is in effect the commander-in-chief with DOMESTIC usage of the Guard...although i'm not sure about that---using Kent State and Newark as precedents...there can be no disputes between Richardson and the Guards!
3) From what i've heard, the Guard will be there manning DESKS, not tanks.
4) NO on the first two...and we ALL know that Amerikkka does not pay for its ever-rising bureaucracy under a Republican regime...guess you're gonna need another Clinton to straighten out THAT mess.
5) i'm SURE he'll announce MISSION ACCOMPLISHED...isn't that the way you goys operate?

Charlie Norwood(GA)already determined that it would take 36,000 troops to adequately patrol the border.

Sadly, I voted for GWB. I regret that he is my President and he has violated his solemn oath to enforce the Constitution of the United States of America.
When you become a traitor to you own country you either resign or you are impeached. Somebody in Congress need to draw up articles of Impeachment.

Debbie, you should know that Hugh Hewitt turned on a dime from being a somewhat-supporter of the President's speech to a downright pessimist in the space of a few minutes. What happened in the meantime? He did an interview with the ICE Princess:

My interview with Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security Julie Myers staggered me, undoing in a handful of minutes my confidence in the president's commitment to border security first. Either the president's team had not communicated effectively with sub-cabinet appointees about the fence, or the president doesn't really believe in the fence, because Assistant Secretary Myers is clearly not a proponent of the fence.
I'd be on the lookout for the Radioblogger transcript of the interview. It must be a doozy.

I cannot see a bigger threat/traitor to America, than Bush. he has used the highest office of the nation's democracy to subvert the comman, hard-working, tax-paying American. Everything from fighting terror (No, helping Bin-LKadens to safety, blanking pages on Saudi Arabia and stalling the 9/11 investigation is NOT fighting terror) to opening doors to criminals from Mexico to stabbing his own patriotic Minutemen in the back, finally, using his office to snitch on these loyal, patriotic and hard-working countrymen, is a SHAME!
As a new citizen myself (I waited 11 years for citizenship, the right way), I have decided to vote for the opponent of any senator/congressman who votes for illegal immigration. Period!

Question: Did not President Bush, approximately 2 years ago, vow to increase the number of Border Patrol agents? Did the numbers requested get approved, or get agressively amputated?
Why will it take until '08 to implement the NG on the border? Why doesn't ICE and DHS follow-up on Illegals reported by their own agents now? Assume for a moment that the invaders are given Amnesty. Following the array, it stands to reason that a legislated minimum wage is around the corner, along with all other accoutrements desired by the Socialists. What will happen to this "chugging" economy then? If the businesses hiring the endentured servants can't make the same profit margin as they do now, who will perform the work? What group will be the next "hard working...family valued...'honest'....'God' fearing...etc."? Indonesians? Namibians? Slave laborers? Oops, the Chinese have that market cornered. ...ah the rock and a hard place we are in now. Not to worry, Billary will be elected, Dems will take over, and the Yoga classes will begin, "...now ease your head between your legs...that's it...now purse your lips together....no silly, not those lips...there, that's it...now kiss your own azz goodbye......" Don't think Mex-Ameri-Can is real? mmm riiight. Gazafornia is coming soon.
