(Communicated by Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger's Office)
Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger (http://tinyurl.com/bba24) has initiated a global project designed to unite approximately 1,000,000 Jews around the world to pray at the same time today, (19:00 Israel time on August 1,.06) (12 noon local time , via the internet. Rabbi Metzger has composed the special prayer for well-being and safe return of abducted soldiers Gilad Shalit, Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser. There is also prayer for the well-being of IDF soldiers and for the recovery of those who have been wounded.
An interactive website (http://www.tfila.org.il/ ) (click the right hand for hebrew, the left hand for english) has been set up, in both Hebrew and English, in which people may add their names to the project. The site includes - inter alia - the texts of the aforementioned prayers, a message from Chief Rabbi Metzger and an interactive 'chain of hands' graphic with the names of those who have agreed to join the project.
May God protect us all.

Message from Rabbi Yona Metzger: To our Brothers, sons of Israel in the Diaspora,
These days, when we are “between the straits”, and in these desperate hours, our brothers Sons of Israel in the State of Israel face hard and murderous times from our enemies and those who are up to destroy us.
While in the battle front our brave soldiers in the Israeli Defense Forces risk their lives in the air and sea to repel those who turn upon us, and defend our people and the cities in Israel.
I call upon our Jewish brothers in the Diaspora, wherever they are, to pray for the well-being of our soldiers and their success this Tuesday at 19:00 (Israel time), for the recovery of the wounded, and the return of the captives to the loving arms of their families all safe and sound.

P.S. Guess Neil couldn't get Ann Coulter to come on again, huh? ;)
So will you be wearing the same hey-baby-check-out-these-boobies dress that you had on last time? You DID know he's a married man, right? :0

I just saw you on Cavouto...you were fabulous
and I love Cavouto, and I don;t know if he was playing devils' advocate, or what
but asking if Jews feel like targets seems to be odd
don't forget the shootings at LAX, ELAL counter, the near beheading in Texas

Great interview Debbie. What is with Neil's personal attacks? I'm beginning to question Fox's support. Shep Smith in particular is so biased.

I can't believe that Neil didn't believe you when you told him about the muslim fest you attended. I wonder if it had something to do with muslims owning a piece of Fox?

I saw you on the show and you were great!!
Cavuto is an idiot for that stupid question doubting your statement about the anti-semitic pattern. He probably went through "sensitivity training" with the Arab/Mozlem terrorist supporting groups like ADC and CAIR.

freewoman:
If you want to know how news is manipulated on MSM, read this.
http://frontpagemagazine.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=20490
Some excerpts:
Saudi Prince al-Waleed bin Talal boasted in Dubai earlier this week about his ability to change the news content that viewers around the world see on television.
In early September 2005, Bin Talal bought 5.46% of voting shares in News Corp. This made the Fifth richest man on the Forbes World's Richest People, the fourth largest voting shareholder in News Corp., the parent of Fox News. News Corp. is the world's leading newspaper publisher in English.
Covering the riots in Paris last November, Fox ran a banner saying: "Muslim riots." Bin Talal was not happy. "I picked up the phone and called Murdoch... (and told him) these are not Muslim riots, these are riots out of poverty," he said. "Within 30 minutes, the title was changed from Muslim riots to civil riots."
Bin Talal concluded in the 2002 Arab News interview: "to bring the decision-maker on your side, you not only have to be active inside the US Congress or the administration but also inside US society."
And bin Talal is moving fast. On December 5, Reuters reported from Dubai that bin Talal complained: "We in the Arab world are not doing the job of explaining ourselves properly." To remedy the situation, and to bring the proper message to Americas brightest minds, bin Talal said that he established special centers dealing with Arab and Islamic studies at Harvard and Georgetown universities. In addition, he announced his plan to shortly launch a television channel called "The Message," which, within two years will broadcast to the United States to "spread the right message".

I think Debbie Schlussel could have used some more time to make her case, but mentioning Mel Gibson in the same breath with the Washington Jewish Federation shooter did not help her credibility with anyone that was not already her fan.
Otherwise I agreed with her message and was somewhat disappointed with Neil Cavuto for not being better informed on current Islamic rhetoric.
The largest problem faced today by most Jewish advocacy groups is message burnout.
In the past the term anti-Semite was tossed around so cavalierly that the word seems to have lost its meaning and impact on the population at large.
Now when someone gets painted with that brush, many will wonder how accurate of a label it really is.
Are you describing the next Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or merely for some hapless film critic that gave "The Passion of The Christ" a positive review?
Are you talking about an aspiring Adolf Eichmann or somebody that once questioned some minor aspect of Israeli government policy?
I wish Debbie luck, but she has a much harder job ahead of her than she likely imagines.
