Iranfeld: Ahmadinejad Joins Kramerica Industries
Yesterday, I noted that TIME's interview with Iran's loony Prez, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, emphasized his short height and metrosexual penchant for fashion and looks.
My father reminded me of something funny:
The nerdy tan jacket with huge lapels that Ahmadinejad told TIME is the "Ahmadinejad Jacket," is actually the "Kramer Jacket," stolen from Seinfeld's Kramer.
Remember how Kramer wears the jacket to the Cuban "Embassy" to get Cuban cigars? (There is really no Cuban Embassy, since we don't have relations with the country.) All the revolutionary Cubans in Fidel Castro's security detail are fascinated by Kramer's jacket, and he trades the jacket for the cigars. Revolutionary leftist despots on TV are copied by revolutionary despotic dictators in real-life. Life imitates art . . . .

And then there's this other similarity:

FYI, the real-life Soup Nazi is Al Yeganeh, a tough talking Middle-Easterner (reportedly Muslim) living in New York. Maybe we could enlist his unique "diplomacy" to deal with Ahmadinejad.
