Brave New World - Muslim Doctor Jihad in America Resumes: Muslim Doc Kills Patient for Organs
Remember "Kurtlar Vadisi - Irak," the Turkish state-sponsored anti-American, anti-Semitic movie that alleges a new blood libel of Jewish, American, and U.S. Army doctors killing Muslims to harvest their organs? It starred Gary Busey as the Jewish-American Army doctor who killed Muslims for organs for Jews in New York, Tel Aviv, and London. Both I and my father, H.L. Schlussel, MD, wrote about it on this site.
Well, guess what? In real life, guess who's actually murdering whom to harvest organs? It's the other way around. A Muslim doctor, Dr. Hootan Roozrokh, murdered his patient to harvest his organs. And--surprise!--the Muslim doctor was raised here in America. So much for America moderating Muslims, more like the other way around (only no "moderating" involved). And this one is truly disgusting, since the victim is a helpless, disabled young person. Add Dr. Roozrokh to my list of Muslim Doctor Jihadists and Terrorists.

Despite this, and the other American Muslim doctor jihad examples I've noted on this site, Greg Siskind--an immigration lawyer who makes his living bringing foreign doctors to America--thinks it's a great thing they're here, and has an op-ed piece dedicated to that faulty premise in today's USA Today. He thinks there aren't enough doctors in America (HUH?!!! There are way too many, and it's harder for them to earn a living.). And he calsl these foreign--mostly Muslim--doctors "saviors." Puh-leeze.
More on the Muslim doctor who murdered his patient for his organs, which reads like a real life version of the movie, "Coma" and its "Jefferson Institute." This guy is the real life "Dr. George":
LOS ANGELES - A surgeon was charged Monday with prescribing excessive drugs to a comatose, disabled patient to hasten his death and harvest his organs for transplantation.Prosecutors in San Luis Obispo County said Dr. Hootan Roozrokh, 33, of San Francisco, gave a harmful drug and prescribed excessive doses of morphine and a sedative to 26-year-old Ruben Navarro, who died in 2006.

The day before Navarro died, his family gave approval for a surgical team to recover his organs for donation, though the procedure never occurred because Navarro did not die within 30 minutes of being removed from life support. He died the next day.Roozrokh, a surgeon at Kaiser Permanente's now-closed kidney transplant program, was working at the time on behalf of a group that procures and distributes organs. The prosecutor's office said in a statement that the drugs were prescribed "to accelerate Mr. Navarro's death in order to recover his organs."
State law prohibits transplant surgeons to be involved in the treatment of potential organ donors before they are declared dead.
It's the first such criminal case against a transplant doctor in the United States, the county district attorney's office said. . . .
Prosecutors did not pursue murder charges because witnesses said they did not believe the drugs caused Navarro's death. [DS: Uh-huh. The drugs "accelerated his death." That's MURDER.]
"The central issue of this case is the mistreatment of a developmentally disabled, dependent adult in an attempt to hasten the person's death for organ transplantation," Prosecutor Stephen Brown said in an interview.
Navarro, who weighed about 80 pounds, was born with a neurological disorder known as adrenoleukodystrophy. He also had celebral palsy and seizures.
A report from federal regulators said Roozrokh ordered Navarro to receive 200 milligrams of morphine and 80 milligrams of the sedative Ativan – far in excess of the usual doses.
Roozrokh, a U.S. citizen, was born in Iran and emigrated with his family at age 2. He was charged with felony counts of dependent adult abuse, administering a harmful substance and unlawful controlled substance prescription.
Hello . . .? He should have been charged with murder. Why wasn't he?
So, let's sum up some of the butchering Muslim doctors I've written about:
* Dr. Osama Ahmed Ibrahim--refused to treat his Jewish patient and let him die in the emergency room;
* Dr. Ahmed Rashed--mutilated body, cut off the hand from a cadaver to give it to his stripper girlfriend. Incredibly, he still has license to practice and is at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY;
* Now, Dr. Hootan Roozrokh--murdered 26-year-old disabled man, Ruben Navarro, to harvest his organs.
Well, I'm sure Islam and its total disregard for the lives of us infidels (as enunciated in the official Muslim Doctors' Oath put forth by the Islamic Medical Association of North America - IMANA) had absolutely nothing to do with it. These are all just random doctors who happen to believe in the same faith and all mutilated and/or murdered patients. Right?
Yes, there are some good Muslim doctors without evil motives. But do you have a foolproof truth detector handy to make sure yours is one of them?
Go to a Muslim doctor at your own risk. Religion of Piece(s).

Its more like Jihad in medical clinics. I'm suprised and somewhat relieved that they havn't resorted to the beheading ritual of their infidel patients but don't hold your breathe in that long.

This is an example of the doctor acting upon what is called "futile care theory". It is the idea that some people's lives do not have sufficient quality to justify continuing life-sustaining treatment. It is, unfortunately, sweeping the medical field.
It involves removing respirators, food and water administered by tube, denying antibiotics, actually turning off functioning pacemakers, etc. I know because I've been battling this on a pro bono basis here in Texas where we have a Futile Care Statute which gives hospitals immunity for removing or denying these life-sustaining treatments to patients against the wishes of the patients and/or their families.
One of the other lawyers who has also been helping tells a story of a young man who sustained a head injury and was in the hospital. The hospital threatened to use futility protocols on the boy if the parents didn't allow the respirator to be removed. In the meantime, the organ procurement team was there aggressively strong--arming the parents to allow the organs to be removed. Mind you, the boy had not been found to be brain dead.
This happens everywhere now. Cleveland Clinic was the subject of a 60 Minute piece because their organ donor protocol included the use of a drug that mimicked brain death in patients. A valiant prosecutor caused a change in that protocol.
I don't think that this incident happened because the doctor is Muslim. It happened because he has been steeped in futility theory. I always thought that Muslims were pro-life in these types of issues. Am I wrong?
In fact, my sources tell me that the only places that have not been infected with this are Orthodox Jewish hospitals. When I was working on my first case (which had nationwide coverage) an Orthodox Jewish doctor's wife called me because her husband wanted to help transfer her to one of these hospitals somewhere up north. We found a Catholic pro-life doctor to help her in the same hospital before I had to take that option.
In summary, when I first took note of this story, the fact that the doctor is Muslim didn't occur to me to be a factor.

Salam, lets talk about our lovely American Dr. Death , that is from MICHIGAN, oh Debbie, where or where do you write this about at??? I didn't think so, rename your blog to Islam bashing because your soo ignorant.
ACTUALLY, YOU ARE THE IGNORANT ONE WHO CAN'T UNDERSTAND STRONG DIFFERENCES AND DON'T WANT TO. ALTHOUGH I HAVE REPEATEDLY CONDEMNED DR. JACK KEVORKIAN, AT LEAST HIS VICTIMS WERE CONSCIOUS AND RECRUITED HIM TO HELP THEM COMMIT SUICIDE. THE MUSLIM DOCTOR IN THIS POST MURDERED AN INNOCENT, HELPLESS, WEAK, HANDICAPPED PERSON, WHO WAS NOT IN A POSITION TO EVEN TALK. A GRAND CANYON OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO CASES. SICK THAT YOU'D FIND THEM ALIKE, ONLY BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT ANYONE TO CONDEMN YOUR RELIGION WHEN IT CLEARLY HAS NO RESPECT FOR INFIDEL (AND EVEN, FREQUENTLY, FELLOW MUSLIM) LIFE.

Beware of people with fake smiles like this guy has, people who do that are ALWAYS covering for something. I've got pictures of sadistic criminals who are smiling like that on their licenses. They're manipulative, you have to imagine making that expression to understand what's going on in their heads.

Salam, Debbie you clearly show that you have anger at me thats fine, but you never see me speaking in all caps and yelling at someone. The problem is you don't understand, I was a Christian and you know I realized many things that how this world is. Islam is the key to close up that gap, that missing feeling, you don't understand because you don't open your box you surround yourself in, and frankly thats sad, because your another typical person that doesn't have feelings for anyone but your selfness self. All religions have bad people in them, were not perfect Debbie, Were called HUMAN. Were made up of Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, students, mum's, dad's, brothers, sisters, office personal, operators, janitors, and more, we all make mistakes. You can show me all your credentials, but that means you went to school for a long time for, and thats good, thats a great achievement but that doesn't mean your perfect and right. Unfortunately you probably wont think about the words I said, but thats fine, you can pick to choose what you want to hear, and put down, but whatever you believe in, good luck with it, because if you are Christian or Jew or whatever, first thing about being someone like that that you don't know is to at least be nice and show respect, and thats something you seem to lack.

Personally, I would never use a Muslim/Foreign educated Doctor! I always make sure when I make an appointment that I get an "American born and educated Doctor"! I wouldn't let one of those dirty creeps near me! They are disgusting.

I think that this blogger is reaching on this one. First off, the guy had been brain dead for some time and had the plug pulled sometime before. He was on his way out in short order. Maybe you've never had anyone in your family needing an organ transplant, but it is a time sensitive issue. What he did, had nothing to do with his faith, or how he felt about other faiths. It had everything to do with saving lives. This man's life was over. His organs could give a person, possibly several, a new lease on life. I don't condemn this doctor and I think that he is being unfairly judged by the blogger based on his faith. If you want to judge him as a doctor for "doing harm", feel free, but it has nothing to do with Islam. Not in this case anyways. In others, it definately does, but not in this case. All my friends and coworkers from Iran are anti-religion with the exception of the Christian friends of mine from Iran. I'm betting this guy is no different. I hope if I'm ever in this young man's condition, a doctor (even a Muslim one) will use my organs to save lives.

Melissa,
The patient was not brain dead. Brain dead people do not continue breathing when taken off a respirator. The doctor acted totally contrary to the protocols by ordering dosages of morphine. That's a treatment. The organ removal doctor is not allowed to order drugs for the donor--with good reason. Morphine depresses the respiratory system--and in the case of a patient like this--hastens death. This doctor ordered dosages of morphine totally against the protocol.
The purpose of this division of labor is to prevent doctors from actively killing patients for their organs. Treating a patient by ordering morphine-when a doctor has a pecuniary interest in being paid for organ removal is a huge conflict of interest.
Insofar as others needing organs, that does not trump the moral obligation of doctors not to kill or actively hasten the death of potential donors. That argument would support knowingly sacrificing some people for the benefit of others.
Moreover, I started following this story in March and I have found absolutely no indication that a surrogate decision maker even gave permission for donation of the organs. The mother says that she didn't. The man was profoundly retarded and did not have the capacity to consent prior to becoming unconscious. This raises my suspicion that the hospital saw a profoundly retarded person (bad quality of life) with a bad prognosis (though perhaps not as bad as they said given that he lived for more than a day after being taken off the respirator--who knows how long he could have lived had he been properly weaned from it) and decided that no one would care what happened to him.
This doctor's license should be revoked for his violation of the protocols--and if the repeated administration of morphine contributed to the man's death--he should be criminally prosecuted.

They say it's happening in America too

Sue Bob,
Everything you say is true and I have no issues with your opinion. We may disagree on some points, but I guess the main point I was making was that he can and should be judged a physician who made a grevious error, but his faith was not a contributing factor.

I posted this yesterday, and somehow it has disappeared. Odd. Anyway, thought you all might like to hear...AGAIN...that Dr. Roozrokh is not a Muslim. He is a Christian. A Catholic, married to a Catholic, in a Catholic church, in fact. To add to it, his paternal grandfather was Jewish. So what was that you were saying about his religion being the cause? Religion, in this case, has nothing to do with anything. Next time, get your facts straight.

Dr. Hootan Roozrokh saved my brother's life not once but three times when he was at Stanford University Medical Center. Don't pass judgment on him on the word of a hysterical surgical nurse that doesn't have a medical degree and no idea of what consists of "massive amounts" of medication. Let the professionals decide what is right and wrong. I pray that he is vindicated.
There are scores of people that owe their lives to Dr. Roozrokh gift and skills for saving lives. He will always have my support and respect.
YOU SHOULD THANK G-D THAT YOUR BROTHER WAS NOT AN ORGAN DONOR. UNLIKE YOU, I DON'T PRAY FOR MURDERERS TO BE VINDICATED. THE PROFESSIONALS DID DECIDE. THAT'S WHY HE'S BEEN CHARGED WITH THE CRIME.

I actually had the pleasure of working with Hootan when he was a resident at Mercy Hospital in Pgh, PA. We worked in the Burn Unit together when he was a fairly new resident. Although he was arrogant and cocky, I have a hard time believing that he did this on purpose. He never ordered anything out of the ordinary, treated any of his patients with malice or "caused" anyones untimely death.
Where were the nurses who carried out his "orders"??? Good nurses are obligated to question and/or refuse to carry out any order that they think doesn't make sense or might be detrimental to their patients. Nurses are supposed to be patient advocates and make sure that they are cared for properly. If they feel a doctor (or any other ancillary dept. staffer for that matter) isn't treating the patient with benevolence, they are to speak up.
Hootan was very conscientious and attentive to all his patients in the burn unit, the ICU and all the other depts he worked on. He was sometimes difficult to work with, but, under the circumstances with which a new resident has to work (long shifts, stressful situations, etc...), I think he did pretty good job.
I think until all the facts are out in the open with this case, people shouldn't judge him. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty??? Trust me, honey, Hootan is NO terrorist. He helped save many many seriously burned patients when he worked at Mercy Hospital. He went above and beyond some of the other residents I've worked with over the years to SAVE people's lives.
WELL, IF YOU HAD THE "PLEASURE" OF WORKING WITH HIM, THEN YOU SHOULD THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS YOU ARE NOT AN ILL ORGAN DONOR. I DON'T TRUST ANYONE, JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE A NURSE WHO, AT ONE TIME, WORKED WITH AN EVIL MAN AND FELL FOR HIS ACT. AND, BTW, MY NAME IS NOT "HONEY." ONE OTHER THING: DID YOU EVER DATE TED BUNDY? I HEAR HE WAS A NICE, CHARMING GUY, TOO, WHO, "TRUST ME, HONEY, WAS NO SERIAL KILLER."

I am a physician who also worked with Dr. Roozrokh at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. One thing I learned from working with him is that he ALWAYS had the patient's best interest in mind. ALWAYS! Whether in the Operating room, on cardiac arrests, on trauma alerts - he thought of nothing else but the patient's best interest.
Trying to paint Dr. Roozrokh as a Jihadist Muslim shows that you are making prejudgements about him without knowing anything about him. He is about as westernized as they come. He came here when he was 2 years old and grew up in Wisconsin. His wife is a blonde haired, blue eyed American. He loves this country and hates terrorism. We worked together during the 9/11 attacks. He was shocked by this and never wanted to be associated with anything like that. I hope that you can at least wait for all the facts to come out before you wage your attacks on this man.

This is a tragedy. Mrs Navarro has suffered greatly, but Hootan had nothing to do with that. He had nothing to do with her giving consent (or not giving fully informed consent, as is now claimed) for her son's organs to be harvested. CTDN (donor netwrok) does that, and the transplant team never has any interaction with the donor family.
I too am a doctor and have worked with Hootan. When he was a transplant fellow at Stanford, I was a surgical resident there. I have worked with him, and I've gone with him to harvest organs for transplant, so I know exactly how he works. He can be an arrogant guy, but that is because he is usually right and doesn't suffer fools gladly. He is a gifted surgeon, and always does more than anybody would expect for his patients. I was not there in San Luis Obispo, so I don't know who ordered what.
I do know that Hootan wasn't even the senior surgeon in the room. His boss was there, calling the shots, but he threw Hootan under the bus when this case became an issue.
The DA claims he erred by administering a harmful substance. He put betadine down a nasogastric tube. That is standard practice for transplant surgery, and they are never going to be able to get anybody who has ever done any transplant training to say otherwise.
It's true that the doses of drugs described in the press sound sensational. Anybody who has treated patients with a long history of narcotic use would not be nearly as impressed.
Perhaps the most important thing not being discussed is that this was a non-beating heart donor. It's impossible to say if Hootan followed all the UNOS guidelines, because UNOS had no guideline for non-beatng heart donors at the time.
How do you define "involved in the care of"? Shouldthe transplant surgeon wait in the room, but not say anything until the donor patient dies? Does he or she wait in the hall? In the cafeteria? The surgeon absolutely has to be there when the patient dies if the organs are to be viable. Hootan is as fast as anyone I've seen, but he would not be able to get the organs out in time if he had to wait outside.
So maybe we need to stop all this diatribe of hate about him being a muslim jihadist (does anybody who has met the guy not think that is funny?) and ask more important questions.
Let's start with:
"If my child needs a liver transplant to survive, do I want that option to be available?"

This is all so hilarious. If Hootan is a Muslim, then I'm a 6 foot tall Swedish super model. I grew up with this guy, our parents were friends. If you want to go after him as a Dr., then go after him as a Dr. Who knows, maybe he did screw up with his patient But putting the word Muslim in front of his name? Laughable. Truly, he is not a religious guy, why do you have make crap up? Honestly, pick better battles and you may end up looking credible. But instead you choose to make a complete arse out of yourself, which has it's advantages because it's so entertaining for the rest of us.

Ms. Schlussel,
Thank you for highlighting the need for vigilence and the necessity of fighting back against the muslim invasion of our nation. Not only does it appear that Dr. Hootan is a sephardic half-Jewish muslim, but he was married to a catholic woman in a catholic church. What a cover! A camouflage of genetic diversity. An almost undetectable sleeper cell in America. Good thing he didn't change his name to Mike McRomney, or else we wouldn't know the difference between him and Dr. 90210. Yes, Dr. Hootan exposed: A real terrorist trained for years as a surgeon by two of the premier American medical institutions: the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Stanford University. A muslim sleeper cell who has diligently trained and deceived us in the heart of our academic institutions for years; only to strike at a poor unsuspecting, dying young American man from a destitute background in a moment of anti-american rage. Thank goodness for the patriotism of the nurses who know good and evil. Thank goodness for your patriotism. And thanks for your astute ability to (re)present the illness, which threatens all true conservative ideals, US national security, America's future and our potential to bring dignity and wealth to the world.
Thank you for another genuine attempt at expose journalism...another real journalistic parody.
With admiration for your art,
Peter Reed.
