I remember buying one of those Arab head dresses at the open air market in Beersheba.

I even wore it a couple of times.

It didn't have the Palestinian pattern, but was plain white, with a black cord to hold it in place.

I don't know what happened to it.

I had it for years, but now I don't have it anymore.

I also bought a souvenir Arab dagger at that same market in Beersheba, too.

My brother-in-law has the dagger.

I think after all these years, I only have two souvenirs of Israel.

One is an antique Persian sword, and the other is a certificate from visiting King David's tomb.

Both are displayed on the wall of my room here at the Ol' Soldiers' Home.

I wonder if either Senator McCain, or his wife, have any idea of the keffiyah's present day significance.

Given that the Senator believes our foe in this poorly named 'War on Terror' is 'radical Islamic extremists' (every day, run of the mill moderate Islamic extremists posing no threat apparently) it's doubtful.

It appears that Meghan McCain is cut from the same mold as Amy Carter and Patti Davis (Reagan's pain-in-the-ass, left-wing, whacked-out daughter). For that matter, I guess you can also say she's following in Ronald Reagan Jr.'s footsteps, as well.

But, she'll be the darling of the media as she embarrasses he father should he be elected.

Hmm, would I want my 11-year-old daughter to wear Abercrombie & Fitch's thong underwear designed specificially for pre-teens or the keffiyeh? I think the keffiyeh. I've seen countless university students in the UK wearing the keffiyeh as a scarf just like they wear T-shirts of Che, the American flag, Rush, Rosie the Riveter, or "CCP" from the old Soviet Union. Does that make a statement that they sympathize with terrorists, pedophiles, neoconservatives, working women or the commies? No, it means that they want to look cool wearing it. Don't give us nonsense that this means anything other than a fashion statement. Stick to what you do best. Photoshoping silly stuff.

Would Chelsea Clinton be accepted if she were to don a white hood? This keffiyeh is just as offensive to those that it touches most. Personally, neither one bothers me, but I wasn't affected by either. If you consciously sport either, then you are being offensive. The candidates ought to know better than to let their kids wear this crap.

I went to the link provided and scrolled through several pages of Meghan's Blog and was surprised by what I found, and what I didn't.

Meghan has the help of Shannon and Heather ... this is not a bad thing. It just makes me wonder what it is she does to produce her own Blog. OK, she provides her play list, but the one picture I found with a caption saying 'updating the Blog' is of Shannon sitting behind the lap top.

I thought there would be more casual pictures of the McCain family. Yes, there were a few and the series of the McCains in the hotel window was more of what I had hoped to see.

Meghan did not include any pictures of her deployed brother, and that is easily understood. Her younger brother, a midshipman at the Naval Academy, stepped in and provided some input to the Blog when she was ill. There were even a number of formal pics of her grandmother, Nana.

The thing that I found odd was the abscence of pics of her sister. Well, there was one, but it was of her sister's back. There were far more pics of Shannon and Meghan, and Heather and Meghan, than there were of Meghan and her sister. There were more captioned identifiable pics of the bus driver than of her sister.

Certainly Meghan's younger sister could be shy and requested not to be part of the Blog. However, that should be explained in some manner.

Yes, the scarf thing raises questions. Not having more of her sister in the Blog just makes me go ... Hmmmmm.

Just goes to show you money doesn't buy taste. Her mother looks like a Barbie doll. I think Cindy could go the Grace Kelly route and come across much classier than she does now. I like the chignon hair style rather than the 60s beehive, too ;-) But as I said first, money does NOT buy taste! Both mother and daughter exude the aura of $$$$ if nothing else ;-)

Granted the scarf accessory should be tossed, but otherwise I thought the YouTube snippets I watched were good. Will take back previous comment about lack of taste, perhaps plain old common sense could have prevailed in her neck accessory...she certainly has an abundance of different scarves from which to choose. I do agree the keffiyeh is highly inappropriate dress for a US presidential campaign. Let's hope she tosses it in the back of her closet and doesn't bring it out again for many years. Perhaps then she will realize what a silly girl she was to have jeopardized her father's chance to become president.

It does appear that the "hair" thing applies equally to mother & daughter...up, down, back, capped - they probably enjoy the different styles, but I still would go with a more classic style for our (hopefully) next First Lady ;-)

You and Coulter had a chance to originally put your support behind genuine Conservatives like Duncan Hunter and/or Mike Huckabee, but chose to deliberately ignore them, giving zero attention to Duncan, which forced him out of the running, and almost did Huckabee as well. This was the identical tactic used by Socialist Democrats. I got to admit I don't want to vote for McCain, but thanks to you guys, you've left us with no other option! I'm certain Pelosi also made other arrangements in exchange for political favors when she met with EU/UN members, enlisting their assistance as well! Without getting permission from President Bush to do so, she held these secret meetings without him or Condoleeza Rice around to know what arrangements she made with these Countries, which indicates she may be a traitor to America and likely been promised a position of great importance by the EU/UN and our enemies once her Socialist Democratic buddies hand over the keys to America to them after they become President! I always thought Coulter was one until recently hearing a speech and an interview she gave at a university. Mitt Romney was the only Republican she didn't slander! She didn't like it one bit when one of the young women confronted her about dividing instead of uniting the Republican Party and it astonished me to hear her tell people it would be better to vote for Hillary rather than vote for anyone but Mitt Romney! Listening to you both go on and on ad nauseum about Mitt, I must agree it only helped to divide instead of unite the Republican Party! I hate to break it to both of you, Romney isn't Ronald Reagan! Yes he seems like a nice guy, but he definitely had a political agenda for the Mormon Cult. It would benefit both of you to finally educate yourselves about Mormonism! PBS recently had a special on it which I hope you watched! My Mormon Senator has a political agenda. He votes much of the time in support of the political agenda of Socialist Democrats, with whom he's good buddies!

Why aren't you instead attacking Socialist Democratic candidates, since they all have proven during their own political careers they support our Islamic enemies? They've promised to withdraw our US Troops from the Middle East as soon as they become President, knowing it would leave Israel defenseless! It should bother you enough to write about it, since you are Jewish yourself! If Israel is attacked, without our US Military nearby in the Middle East, they have zero chance of responding immediately, despite Obama and Clinton both claiming they would "act swiftly" to protect Israel, if that happened. Socialist Democrats (and the Socialist Democratic media and press who support them) have always attacked our President over faulty intelligence, even though it's their own political party who's responsible for it because JFK, LBJ, Carter, and Clinton closed more US Military installations than you can count! That coupled with these Socialist Democrats withdrawing most of our US Military from Germany and Europe has crippled our ability to obtain intelligence that's accurate. Then add into the mix Islamic Terrorists who were educated in our American Universities, on computers. Then add into the mix traitor Nations who claim they supposedly are our "allies". Then add into the mix traitors in our own US Government (mostly Socialists serving on the US Intelligence Committee, who have access to our Nation's Top Secrets), those repeatedly trying to cripple our President's efforts to get intelligence to protect us and our troops from our enemies! As someone who has held a Secret Security Clearance, I have noticed myself how they deliberately try to leak Top Classified into through the media and press at those hearings they continually hold on a daily basis. These hearings are being broadcast around the World to our enemies! I believe they're purposely doing it publicly to protect themselves from being accused, tried, and imprisoned for the traitors they really are! Like my Dad use to say, "The guilty dog barks the loudest", and no one has been "barking" louder than Socialist Democrats about being wiretapped! It is apparent they don't want our Military abroad to gather accurate intelligence, so we need to know which of them is helping our enemies abroad so they can take over our Government! I was a former US Military Wife who worked for US Army Depots (here and abroad) for 4-1/2 yrs. and my Dad worked for US Army Depots (here and abroad) for 33 yrs.! My Son was stationed on a US Navy Sub in a top-level position. Since Coulter and you haven't been in our positions of service for our Government, I guess that's why you and other people never consider these things.

Something has totally blinded you to the fact you should be focusing on really important matters like I pointed out to you, instead of gossiping about McCain's daughter like a jealous teenage classmate! That includes you not pointing out how Barrack and Hillary have stupidly told our enemies exactly when they plan to withdraw our US Troops from the Middle East so they can be ready to swoop down on our Military and slaughter them while packing up all their gear, or so they can attack and then slaughter God's Chosen People (of which you are one), in Israel, who all will be "sitting ducks" after our Military leaves the area. It will be similar to what the Communist North Viet Cong did to millions of innocent South Vietnamese citizens after that moron John Kerry forced our Government to withdraw our troops from there before securing the safety of the South Vietnamese people, and also before securing the release of our POWs and MIAs! I am of the generation who remembers these things. Two days before my 23rd Birthday, April 23, Kerry sat before our Government in Washington, accusing all his fellow Viet Nam War Vets of being "war criminals" (even though 3 decades later, when he wanted to run for President, he referred to himself as being a "war hero", a right he denied to his fellow Vets he claimed he supposdly represented)! McCain's acchiles heal, I fear, was political foolishness in letting Kerry convince him he supposedly was his buddy, and McCain running to defend Kerry after the Swiftboat Vets told the truth about Kerry, saying he was a traitor to our Nation! McCain's continually flip-flopping could destroy his chances of winning! Kerry gained McCain's confidence so he knew he was planning to run for President in the future!

What the Socialist Democrats are doing to our US Troops serving in the Middle East is exactly the same thing they did 3 decades ago! They do it to aid and abett our enemies and further lower our troops' morale, because they know that it makes them more likely to be injured or killed in a war zone (which enhances their chances of regaining control over the White House)! They repeatedly lie, saying, "We support our troops", then they turn around and have their buddies in Hollywood create all these movies making it look like all our Military personnel serving in the Middle East supposedly torture our enemies. They tell Tom Hanks to have our US Military serving overseas in Iraq announce OSCAR nominees of movies they have never seen, which turn out to be homosexual movies, a political issue in war zones. Immediately after that Tom Hanks claims "These movies tell the truth about the war", and then hands out OSCARS to those who created these terrible movies that slander our US Troops (the exact same thing they did during the Viet Nam War, to deliberately try to make our Military look like "war criminals", making them and their families feel guilty over defending millions of innocents they help free in both Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as to make them and their families feel guilty for protecting our Nation from our enemies who attacked our Nation, killing 3,000 of our people! It's clear to me they are traitors who want our enemies to attack us again, so they can overtake our Nation! Why are you and Ann not writing about THESE things?

Incidentally, Ralph Nader has announced he also is throwing his "hat into the ring" as a spoiler in a desperate attempt to prevent McCain from getting elected! I suspect, as they likely did in Ross Perrot's case, Socialist Democrats are likely financially contributing to Nader's campaign to ensure they gain control over our Government once again. Why are you not writing about this?

If you and Coulter are both "Conservatives" as you claim, then why are you both of you working so hard to trash the only remaining Republican Presidential Candidate so you can help Obama or Clinton get elected?! You both keep trying to convince us how "educated" you are, but you both lack the common sense God gave you when you were born to know when to shut up and when to speak! You're both doing the same thing as Pat Robertson, who is responsible for why so many Republicans lost their political positions on all levels of Government, and why our President has not been able to pass anymore vital legislation! How is it a homosexual toe-tapping Republican ended up being the only man in the men's bathroom of a busy airport, and a policeman miraculously ended up in the stall right next to him? Could it be possible the policeman was bribed to proposition this Republican? One wonders since there conveniently weren't any other witnessess around to dispute the policeman's accusations. It had to have been a setup by Socialist Democrats because none of their toe-tapping homosexuals have been caught this way! Thanks to Pat Robertson failure to point out this fact, with him instead accusing this Republican of "being another sinner in the Republican Party", other fellow Republicans holding political positions suffered in this homosexual's place, by loosing their own jobs!

If we end up with a Socialist Democrat as President, Republicans can blame you, Coulter, Robertson, and Roberton's buddy, Pat Buchanan--who also happens to be the most unRepublican Republican I've ever known--for helping Hillary or Barrack to win the election! I am not accusing you or Coulter of doing so, but Reporters can also be bribed.
