Schlussel v. Oprah's Skank, Lisa Ling

Printer Friendly

By Debbie Schlussel

Oprah's "reporter"--former "The View" panelist, Lisa Ling--is trying to get me to publicize and send traffic to her new blog. I thought readers would enjoy my letter to Lisa Ling's "people" about why I find her loathsome and won't be linking. Her blog, by the way, is more left-wing, anti-American drivel and whining about the war in Iraq, etc. Sorry, but we already have Daily Kos, Democratic Underground and Talking Points Memo. Why do we need her?:

Hi Debbie,

My name is Caitlin Leonard, and I work with Lisa Ling's blog- "Trying to do Good."

I came across your blog, and found the content very interesting- especially your coverage of the Al-Hanooti scandal.

As Lisa speaks out regarding global issues that are often ignored, I thought you might like to check out some of her posts.

[DS: Lisa Ling's website address redacted, b/c I ain't givin' her traffic.]

Let me know what you think- I'd love to get your feedback.

Caitlin

Caitlin:
Do you know the definition of the word "chutzpah"?

That's the word that best describes anyone contacting me on behalf of Lisa Ling, especially in connection with Muthanna Al-Hanooti, a Muslim extremist for whose lifestyle and beliefs Lisa Ling is a major apologist.

Lisa Ling has made a career out of doing National Geographic "specials" in which she serves as a HAMAS apologist, trying to "understand" and "explain" to us the grievances of a female Palestinian Muslim homicide bomber . . . the kind that Mr. Al-Hanooti was funding through his "charity," LIFE for Relief and Development.

And just last Friday, as a "reporter" for Oprah, Ms. Ling did a whole hour on the mindless daytime talk show about "Polygamy in America," which focused exclusively on Christians and bore not a word about the many Muslims in America--including Mr. Al-Hanooti (he has two wives)--who practice it.

And who can forget her reports from Hurricane Katrina-fraught New Orleans on "Oprah," in which she said that President Bush delayed helping these people because they are "not White"? Yet, when she and Oprah's interior decorator/game show host, Nate Berkus, encountered a homeless Black victim in a New Orleans park, they invited his dog to stay in the home they were renting, but not him.

Even more "entertaining" was Ms. Ling's report on Oprah about the "great" life women in Cuba have. "We have to get out of our sort of American way of thinking," Ling told Oprah, in pushing Castro's "paradise." Yes, such a great life that they are swimming with the sharks to get to our shores.

For you to tell me that "As Lisa speaks out regarding global issues that are often ignored, I thought you might like to check out some of her posts," is laughable. Lisa does NOT speak out. She apologizes for and excuses global outrages. And I find her loathsome.

Frankly, Ms. Ling's qualifications and credentials are thin. The proud high school grad's claim to fame is that she was the slightly less airheaded panelist on ABC's "The View" before she left and was replaced by the slightly more airheaded panelist, Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Lisa Ling only got the job in the first place because she was the only panelist candidate who agreed to get her belly-button pierced and engage in a lesbian kiss with Meredith Vieira, live on the air. Great qualifications for making a porn movie. "Speaking out on global issues"--not so much.

I hope you will forward my comments to your boss/client/whatever, Lisa Ling, and let her know that I speak for many Americans who find her statements, behavior, and pan-terrorist "journalism" beyond disgusting.

Thanks, but no thanks. I won't be setting foot, er . . . mouse or cursor on this execrable woman's blog. Contrary to her ambitious title, she is NOT "Trying to do Good."

Regards,
Debbie Schlussel

Lisa Ling . . .yet another reason that Oprah Sucks.

Debbie, I love you. You are truly the best. I just love your non-compromising attitude.

Oh my.... That was wonderful. My gut tells me that Dear ol' Lisa will not see a word of this, or anything for that matter. But Lisa will feel a little smoke being blown from her "staff".

Nice job there Deb.

Refreshing to see someone these days stand on a little known thing called PRINCIPLE. If ling doesn't see the letter she will at least hear about it. If they take exception to it they can't lambast you or they'd draw attention to their own thick headed views and give you a huge audience for your correctness.
Off the subject, I think doing the Stern show is a smart move considering the size of his audience and so what if he gets stupid at times. I think that was the first time I heard about you years ago. Getting your message out is the most important thing.

I do not get the appeal oprah has-she always seemed so phony. I donot get why those who hate us so much still live here. could it be... that we are not as bad as they think?

Thanks Debbie. Great letter. And G. Soros is "concerned" that Fox News has too much influence. The left-wing media is populated with legions of Ms. Lings. Of course good propagandists favor having no one around to dispute their lies. I guess this is the Left's lipsticked-pig answer to Michelle Malkin. What a laugh!

That was an awesome letter!!!! You said the exact same things I would of said. Except, I'd probably be less tactful with that skank. Can I call her a skank here? Guess I already did.

I understand & agree with your anger and would agree that you would not want to link with a blog supporting terrorists.
I also understand that if one blog links to another blog, it becomes associated indirectly with the content of that blog.

I would not be opposed in all cases to having links to liberal blogs, with an appropriate disclaimer, as long as those blogs would agree to link to yours, and did not have content which promotes terrorism, anti-Semitism or other illegal or immoral activity. I know that there are not very many blogs like this, if any at all, but if there were, and they agreed to reciprocal links, it might get more people to learn more about conservatism.

Ditto Jeff W's comment:
Debbie, I love you. You are truly the best. I just love your non-compromising attitude.

Debbie takes no prisoners with such idiots/pretenders--how refreshing. (Don't you hate it when they have these stupid debates when the antagonists spend over half their time sucking up to each other--"well I would say to my distinguished colleague blah blah blah--it is so sickening. You don't have to worry about that with DS!)

YAMMA HAMMA---If you feel you are ever becoming annoyed by any of my posts please warn me prior to taking any action. I will need time to get out of Dodge. I would rather be called a coward than take a dose of DS. Maybe next time you can tell Oprah how you really feel. Lady Deb, that was awesome--joe

Lisa Ling is a crashing bore, as far as I can tell. No way will I get hear her site.
Actually, she's worse than a bore. She's an idiot.

I must be the only guy that know this so here it goes:

When I was going to middle school and high school, we had these TVs in our classrooms and they would always broadcast "Channel 1" every morning. Lisa Ling was apart of it and one of the "reporters".

That's how I first learned about her, and that's how so many in my school was brainwashed into the psychonuts that they've become.

Debbie, I know the term 'stupid bitch' isn't very Xtian, but i just Googled it and LL's picture came up. I've noticed that Asians (Chinese) tend to be completely unsympathetic to Israel. I think it has to do with their culture of seeking serenity, harmony, etc. I just wish Islam was infecting China and not Europe and Michigan.

This not my usual way of saying things. But, Oprah does "suck." I never liked oprah since I was in High School. I couldn't take her and I didn't know why. I had to walk out.....And I was in my living room!

Debbie you are true Poet! You go girl!!!!

My problem with this is not the assistant's onions in contacting Deb for exploitation, but the utter lack of research BEFORE she contacted Deb.

I don't think it was oversight; I think the lack of planning and her use of language was intentional as current politics dictate. I think politics in the US has gone from the traditional politics of debates and dirty tricks into something more likened to cult recruitment and retainment.

Look at the email Deb received:

"My name is Caitlin Leonard, and I work with Lisa Ling's blog- "Trying to do Good." (bh: Name of famous leader followed by feel-good name. This is to induce awe in that this famous "leader" knows who you are and generates emotions of euphoria.)

I came across your blog, and found the content very interesting- especially your coverage of the Al-Hanooti scandal. (bh: Compliment the target.)

As Lisa speaks out regarding global issues that are often ignored, I thought you might like to check out some of her posts. (bh: Show how the leader mirrors the views of the target. Pretend to ask the target to help the leader and work in cooperation with the group, but really seeking the target's allegiance.)

Let me know what you think- I'd love to get your feedback." (bh: Ending complient to urge target's compliance.)

Also, notice how short the letter is. This is also intentional - meant to tempt the target to contact the group to get a better picture of what's being asked of them.

I've seen better than this, but all the essentials are there. This letter is similar to the first steps of cult indoctrination. If Deb complied the next step would be isolation, followed by coercion. Next thing we knew, Deb would be herded into Oprah's live audience begging for the 350 lbs. of marketable grade-B to say to her "I know your pain..."

As pointed out earlier by Squirrl3D, this indoctrination began early for most of us. I remember Ling on Channel 1 back in my captivity (public high school). The reporters on Channel 1 had no credability, but we were REQUIRED by school codes to stop anything like real learning, and observe the cheap TV for "news". The reporting was almost always biased and fictional (and that's being kind).

It was, however, a good way to indoctrinate the kids without the parent's knowing. When I mentioned some of the reporting to my parents in those days, they had no idea we even had TV's in the classroom. After a local news report informing the parents to the "benefits" of Channel 1, my folks quickly said I should listen and take it all in. They never bothered to look at it, but took the word of a local news journalist later convicted of child sexual assault and drug use.

My kids are NEVER setting foot in public school - EVER! They are getting a great education from us. And we cut ABC off our TV settings years ago, so we never see Oprah's Gospel Hour (or whatever it's called.) Since Oprah and the View both are promoting soft-core porn and sodomy, from what Deb reported, both shows are violating FCC rules - not to mention the laws of nature and our Creator.

And proven from this letter, they're also utilizing cult indoctrination tactics. That makes it all the more dangerous.

Gee, Debbie, why didn't you tell her how you REALLY feel?? lol

Great letter, Debbie. I can't wait to see something totally twisted on this pop up on Media Matters for America.

The whole scenario of this Caitlin writing to you seems like a lefty version of Dumb and Dumber...

Keep up the good work, Debbie.

My choicest words about big-mouths like Oprah (yes, there are many more) are unprintables. Given how women like to team-up against men (no matter the topic), I choose to keep my views about big-mouth Oprah/others, to myself. After all, what do 'insensitive jerks' know about wonen?

ROTFLMFAO!!!!! If I had one wish, it would've been to be there when this Caitlin read Debbie's reply! Hats off to the Queen!
