Se Habla Blarney?: Bennigan's Now Has Spanish Menus; "Carlos Murphy's"?
It's another sad sign of the times, in which illegal aliens are dominating and their language--not English--is taking over:
Bennigan's Grill & Tavern is now offering menus in Spanish at ALL U.S. locations. Well, now we know why Bennigan's removed the "Irish-American" adjective from it's emblem. I mean, who founded this place . . . Juan Bennigan?

People will never learn English, if they aren't forced to. Steps like this are regressive--in the wrong direction, unless you're headed toward reconquistador "paradise," Aztlan.
Maybe they should change the name to Carlos Murphy's (the name of a now-defunct Mexican-Irish Detroit-area restaurant).
Well, on the bright side, at least they're not offering Arabic menus--though there are, ironically, Mexican restaurants in Dearbornistan that feature such menus.
Coming up: "Ahmed O'Houlihan's Falafel & Shepherd's Pie Hut."
Bennigan's . . . Se Habla Blarney. Luck O' the Coyotes.

I don't tend to suffer fools gladly and I detest stupidity - even when its done to make minorities feel better. The worst kind of stupidity is the inane nonsense over words down in Dallas, Texas. I couldn't believe what I heard. I'm an educated person but not so educated that I believe the kind of garbage a lot of intellectuals seem all too willing to put up with.

It's the free market at work; corporations are filling the needs for a rapidly growing market segment. It's not like English is the native language here anyway.

The new Bennigan's logo doesn't bother me. The spanish menus--that's up to them, but making it obvious they have them may turn away as more patrons than it gains them.
I hate the "press uno para Ingles" world we live in when it comes to this. English should be our national language for all dealings.
Carlos Murphy's--ah yes, a stroll back through memory lane there. I ate there in yesteryear and snd survived. I think the Irish/Mexican combo for a restaurant can work. Nachos and Guinness, yummy.
Bennigan's (a while since I last partook) seems to me to be in the same general motiff of a TGI Friday's or Applebee's. To me they are all pretty much the same. Fair food, OK service--moderate pricing. Yawn. Sometimes that's all you want, though.

I haven't patronized a Bennigans in YEARS, and this scheme (Spanish menus) will insure I NEVER go back.
The reason I haven't been to one in years is because Bennigans is just an upscale diner with inflated prices....the food is average.

Regarding the new logo:
Since they removed the eagle, the clover, and "Irish American" in order to appeal to the Latinos, they might as well change the name to El-Bennegali, and replace the Irish/American fare with tacos and burritos. Why not go all the way?
Regarding the whorish executives who made this decision:
I wonder how much they would rent-out their wives and daughters for?
The new American ideal in corporate America:
Sell-out the company as quickly as possible to the highest bidder - sit back and collect on the inflated salaries, bonuses, stock options, and land safely on your estate using your golden parachute. THEN, when there's not a company left in America, blame it all on the government's enacting NAFTA!
