The Story No-one’s Talking About: Another Arab Muslim “Student” Tries to Bring a Knife on a Plane; UPDATE: Another 9/11?

By Debbie Schlussel
A few years ago, the incident involving Raed Abdul-Rahman Alsaif would have been a big national news story. Perhaps, international.
But now, in the era of Obama “post-terrorism,” we’re supposed to pretend that these things–these attempts by Muslims to bring weapons on planes for the apparent purpose of hijacking and, at the very least, testing the system–don’t happen. Yup, in this new “enlightened” age, these things are only reported once on the pages of the Tampa Tribune. And not in any other mainstream media sources outside South Florida. Yes, a Muslim man trying to get a seven-inch butcher knife on a plane in America is no longer “noteworthy.”

Federal authorities have charged a 24-year-old man with trying to bring a seven-inch knife aboard a plane at Tampa International Airport.

Raed Alsaif, Complete with Extremist Muslim Beard

Raed Abduhl-Rahman Alsaif was arrested June 4 as he tried to board US Airways flight 1077 to Phoenix and Portland, Ore., according to a criminal complaint.
During the screening process, an officer spotted a large chef’s knife in one of Alsaif’s bags, the complaint states. The knife was concealed between the outside fabric and the expandable pull handles of the bag.

Read the federal criminal complaint against Alsaif. According to private investigator Bill Warner (who has done a ton of digging into this guy), Alsaif is a Saudi Arabian national, here on a student visa–you know, one of those wonderful Saudi student visas that President Bush and Saudi King Abdullah doubled to 30,000, in the interest of “open exchange” and “understanding.”
Bill reports that Alsaif has two previous instances on his criminal record:

Raed Abduhl-Rahman Al-Saif is a student at the University of Tampa and has been arrested at least twice before in the last 8 months on Felony drug charges in Hillsborough County.

And, of course, as many Muslims and Arabs do, the guy spelled his name differently in those instances, as “Raed Abdurahmans Alsaif” and “Raed Abdulrahman Alsaif.”
Hmmm . . . three arrests, and this guy is still here? Where is ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement)? Oh, yeah, they can’t do their jobs, or else Janet Napolitano a/k/a “The Lesbionic Woman” will investigate them for doing it.
And Bill notes that Alsaif is a graduate of the Islamic Saudi Academy Alexandria, VA–an extremist school linked to Al-Qaeda and that the Alsaif family is prominent in Al-Qaeda.
Let’s hear it for those Saudi Muslim student visas!
**** UPDATE: Bill Warner also points out that on the very same day (June 4, 2009) that Alsaif tried to sneak the butcher knife onto the U.S. Airways flight bound for Phoenix, Arizona, two other men, Roshid Milledge and Damien Young, were caught trying to do the same thing from Philadelphia–also on a U.S. Airwarys flight bound for Phoenix, Arizona. Both flights were scheduled to take off within 35 minutes of each other. Coincidence? Or mass hijacking plan a la 9/11?
Don’t bet against the latter.

It is almost unbelievable (& scary) how this can go unnoticed by the MSM. I just did a Google search on his name and it only came up in the Tampa Tribune you referenced!

I bet if he was a conservative. It would 24hr news coverage and they would be asking “How do we stop domestic terrorsits?” Maybe he might get punished with a trip to Bermuda.

They are constantly probing for weakness’s.
Most probably go undetected.

Let’s see…three arrests, at least two for felony drug charges. Any convictions? Hey, it’s Florida. Should ICE be looking into this puke’s visa to see if he’s out of status? Nope, too much pole puffing to do in DC and too many fake nikes and NASCAR t-shirts to seize.
So much for the best interests and security of this country. I’ll bet we’ll be seeing him on a nice vacation island sipping cocktails and laughing his a** off at this country. What a disgrace!!!

Just flew the other day and the TSA agent just looked at my ID and never checked my face. No eye contact at all. I guess lifting your head to see if photo matches person is too much of an effort.
These guys know security is softened and are casing the airports. For liberals remember the “first one is on us” because after 8 years of Bush/Cheney we deserved it. That is how they are playing the GITMO detainees going back to the battlefield. Liberals are saying “well we created them and that is why they are going back to terrorist acts.” Sick rationalization. Same will happen if it attacked by terrorists again. Liberals have their built in talking points. Blame the first attack on Bush and Cheney. As Blagojevich says “The fix is in”.

Will J.NO, Obama connect the dots?

californiascreaming on June 17, 2009 at 12:56 pm

Another 9/11 is entirely possible. All it takes is ingenuity and will on the part of terrorists to perpetrate another mass murder. And don’t think they haven’t tried – all it takes is one group to penetrate the holes in US airport security and we will have another mega disaster on our hands. Precisely because America has been desperate… but not serious, as Debbie has repeated so many times on this side about addressing the Islam that motivates the killers among us to murder Americans when they think they can get away with it.

Debbie you have it all wrong. They heard that some Gitmo detainees were being given permanent vacations in Bermuda courtesy of the American taxpayer. They just wanted the same thing for themselves …

I think you’re all jumping to conclusions, here. All of those instances of Arab muzlums taking knives aboard those planes bound for Phoenix can easily be explained….They are culinary students on their way to Phoenix after they learned that Benihana was opening a restaurant there.
They are just your average, “moderate”, “peace-loving” muzlums enjoying all that America has to offer. They’re not unlike the other muzlums on student visas who were stopped with a carload of explosives and pipe bombs who were on their way to a BBQ out in the woods. It just so happens that the BBQ pit they chose was right next to a miltary base.
The enemy is among us.

Why is this person being allowed to remain a resident alien after his previous convictions? He should be simply deported after the sentence is served.

Worry01 on June 17, 2009 at 5:12 pm

The use of the larger knives the test of TSA. They likely have been bringing knives on board for a while and wanted to see just how large they could go before someone would notice. The holes in TSA are security are no secret.
I think they’re banking on fewer people fighting back in the face of a butcher knife as opposed to a box cutter. With the paradigm now changed (passengers will now fight back against a hijacker), they need the large knives to create a hostage situation aboard the place. In effect, hijacking by proxy: “Take this plane where I tell you to, or the little girl gets it!” What would the flight crew do? Let him slice open a little girl’s throat? Or would they change course to save her? I would hope the airlines have a contingency plan for this type of scenario.

Most of the west is living in denial like every day is 9/10. Not only will another 9/11 not wake some of these people up, but they’ve already got their rationalizations excusing Islamic terrorism printed and ready to go.

Didn’t the flying imams case also involve muslims with questionable intentions on US Airways? Phoenix?
