John Sandweg: Obama’s New Immigration Chief’s “Experience” is Defending Child Molesters, Wife Beaters, Drunk Drivers, Terrorists

By Debbie Schlussel

Several weeks before John Sandweg quietly assumed the job as Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the largest agency within Homeland Security, I was contacted by several top ICE officials warning me that this wet-behind-the-ears, completely unqualified person was about to take the reins. And sure enough, this FoJ (Friend of Janet–Napolitano), whose only experience is about a decade as a young lawyer, is now in charge of the agency which is supposed to enforce immigration law . . . but isn’t. Even worse, Sandweg has zero experience in law enforcement . . . unless you count his “experience” defending murderers, child molesters, wife beaters, and drunk drivers as a criminal defense attorney in Arizona, from where the Lesbionic woman, Napolitano, scooped him up from the state’s Democrat hacktivists.

Illegal Aliens Party On w/ John Sandweg In Charge @ ICE

Career ICE agents are aghast that Sandweg, who never even served as a prosecutor and has never engaged in any sort of law enforcement (several years of law enforcement experience are required for the job), is now running their agency. In his late 30s, Sandweg is known for defending Democrat Arizona State Senator Mark DeSimone after DeSimone hit his wife, cut her lip, and was charged with domestic violence. Not sure how this qualifies Sandweg to “run” ICE, unless you take into account the fact that many illegal aliens also engage in domestic violence repeatedly, and yet, THEY. ARE. STILL. HERE.

But, wait, there’s more. Sandweg also defended drunk driver Laura Varker, who killed her friend after her Yukon Denali hit another car and flipped over. I’m sure Sandweg advised her not to wear the “Cinco de Drinko” t-shirt she was photographed wearing on the day of her drunk driving spree. Again, how does this “experience” qualify John Sandweg to run ICE? Perhaps it’s the fact that many illegal aliens never deported by ICE are also drunk drivers who kill Americans. But that’s a stretch.

Sandweg has also defended terrorists and child molesters. But, again, now he has a rich body of experience in the activity of illegal aliens, right?

There is really only one reason John Sandweg is heading up ICE–which he could lead for a year or more, until Barack Obama chooses to nominate a new ICE chief to be confirmed by the Senate. And that reason is Napolitano. While she left to run colleges in California, she put Sandweg in this position so she can still have her grubby masculine hands in the game. Sandweg owes her for saving him from a life of sleazy lawyering and putting him in cushy 9-5 jobs in Washington. Now, he gets ICE bodyguards to guard and chauffeur him around as he pleases, instead of defending rich spoiled brats in crimes of violence in Arizona.

If Republicans really wanted to do something about this, they’d threaten to defund ICE or withhold some of its gazillion-dollar funding, until an actual suitable immigration chief–with actual law enforcement experience beyond defending rich criminals–was chosen and put into place. But, as you know, the Republicans are really paper tigers. They speak loudly and carry a toothpick. See Obamacare, Obama’s bloated budget, Obama’s plans to bomb Syria for no useful U.S. interest. With each of these, no matter what these fraudulent Republicans say, they never deliver. They just go along.

And, so, you can expect the incompetent, unqualified John Sandweg to continue running ICE . . . into the ground, for the next year or so, free of any scrutiny or obstacle whatsoever. It’s the Republicans’ job to be the loyal opposition.

Instead, they are the loyal whining wimps. And you voted for them . . . why?

One other thing: John Sandweg is a proud graduate of one of America’s top party schools, Arizona State University. Party On, America!

ICE has been leaning toward lawyers VS L.E. experts for years. I guess it isn’t easier to ask for forgiveness rather than ask for permission since EVERYTHING an agent does has to be approved by H.Q. Typical surveillance, better ask H.Q. God I miss the old days of self-starters, initiative. Mother may I. Laughable, but sad.

WilliamMunny on September 5, 2013 at 7:46 pm

The level of incompetence and inexperience has run rampant for many years and has grown exponentially since ICE came into existence. The vast majority of upper management has no prior experience in law enforcement, particularly in any of the agencies affected, i.e. Border Patrol, Customs, etc. They’re all charter members of the “Golden Boy/Girl” club, excel at political fellatio, and hone their skills at screwing over hard working, honest, dedicated officers and agents because of their inferiority complexes or fear for their jobs. Never mind having a defined mission nor doing what’s in the best interest for the nation.

This nation is going int the tank fast and the level of sewage is rising at an alarming rate.

DS, welcome back! Is it any wonder why ICE is consistently ranked as one of the worst agencies to work at? Abuse of funds and position, Chief of Staff whoring around, 100% no confidence vote from agents and now this? Hell, we have verified racists and hate-mongers still on the payroll;

BTW, ICE has known about Ayo for 2 years, knew exactly what he was doing, but no action was taken until it hit the press

Working at ICE is like a nightmare that keeps getting worse and worse and WEIRDER by the day. I guess it really is all about who you know and how politically connected you are. There are a LOT of unqualified people floating around ICE as “managers”, “agents” and “officers”. Some with very little education, no life experience outside ICE, mental health problems, and social problems that would get them fired outside of ICE. Also, most ICE “Law Enforcement” don’t do ANY actual “enforcing” at all and some have NEVER made an actual arrest in their career! Not ONE! Still getting LEO pay, LEO retirement, carry a gun, badge, etc. It’s very strange sometimes. Everyone gets paid every two weeks and I guess we all (MYSELF included) just do whatever computer “training” that’s needed, sign paperwork, send emails, check boxes on worksheets, “qualify” with our “weapons” and just keep killing time. I don’t know what else to do. It’s good to get paid but it sucks to have such low morale and NO real respect for this “Law Enforcement Agency.” Party on guys.

LA ICE Guy on September 5, 2013 at 3:46 pm

LA, I am sorry that you have to endure working at a once good agency, Customs. Since you are an ICE guy, you do not know how good it was working great cases and feeling you made a difference. If you can tough it out, maybe, in your career, the gov’t can figure out a way to unfuck ICE as an agency, but don’t hold your breath. They created it and would never admit to the abortion that is now ICE/HSI.

WilliamMunny on September 5, 2013 at 7:52 pm

Well, it seems to me, I stated the exact same thing a short while ago, but you railed into me for voicing my true and correct opinion. Most, if not all, have never affected an arrest, unless it was cardiac arrest triggered by auto-erotic asphyxiation. They have never done a felony vehicle stop, completed any meaningful police academy, done dynamic entries, nor have they even issued an infraction. I would venture to guess, they cannot even construct a report, let alone attempt an investigation.

I feel sorry for any of those SOBs that are confronted with any type of subject or subjects by way of multiple shooters. What would they do? Shit their pants or check their smart phone for an APP or send a text to their superior to get permission to unholster a duty weapon.

Yes, ICE, in its current form, should be “iced”… However, I have to object to Debbie’s claim that there’s no useful U.S. interest in Syria…

Agreed, on the one hand we have a ruthless dictatorship and on the other hand we have equally ruthless Islamists… A pox on both their houses!… It’s not in the US’ interest that either of those parties become triumphant…

Having said that, once Obamby drew his red line he now has to act on it… Not doing so will hurt US deterrence vis a vie the Islamist as well as Iran…

If I were POTUS I would never have drawn the red line to begin with… However, assuming I had done so I would act against Syria… The Islamists could use a boost… And, as long as they’re fighting Assad they don’t have time for us…

Hans on September 5, 2013 at 5:17 pm

Maybe our fighter jets could overrun the targets once in a while and keep the civil war on an even keel. Pipe dream, I know.

WilliamMunny on September 5, 2013 at 8:07 pm

You don’t get the bottom line, Hans and it really shows (plus you refer to Moooooslim Jihadis as “Islamists”…FAIL)!

“…once Obamby drew his red line he now has to act on it… Not doing so will hurt US deterrence vis a vie the Islamist as well as Iran…”

Why does he have to act on it? Do you have a tight connection to his ego? No he doesn’t. And as for hurting the US, THAT was done when the idiots voted for the crypto, Moooooslim creep. We have ZERO interest in what is going on in Syria. We don’t have any power. That’s Obama-Putin who idiots saw to to re-elect. Apes moi, les deluge…

You’re not the only one slinging such nonsense. Michael Graham pretty much said the same thing yesterday. This is a guy who has actually lost a job due to the Mooooslim goon-squad but like you he’s swimming in the warm water and not realizing how hot it’s getting and how dangerous it’s getting all around.

On this day, I have NO TIME for morons who wanna have Obama-Putin’s back. You’re dupes and fools. These morons wanna pretend they have a sense of decorum so they refuse to paint the picture as precarious as it ACTUALLY is. “Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That”. You’re the dupes who’ll get your heart ripped out and chomped on by a crazed Jihadi (redundant) while the rest of us are running for our lives.

You don’t have to have DS’ brain and knowledge but you should at least get her bottom line. “This. Is. Islam”.

If you don’t you will NOT be prepared and you are foolish. And you’ll go down like the most weak of the wilderbeasts running helter-skelter from cheetahs. That’s right, you’ll be a non-halal dinner.

    Bon appetite, Bozos!

Skunky on September 6, 2013 at 11:41 am

ICE is just INS reformulated. And like INS, ICE will always be staffed by management that is incompetent with little to no LE management experience. The reason? The government does not want people working in ICE that enforce the laws that the agency is empowered to enforce. If ICE had competent management they would tell the current administration to work to change the laws they don’t want enforced through congress and not by executive fiat. ICE has NEVER had a leader with ANY LE experience, even though there is a requirement for the position that the selectee has at least five years gun and badge carrying management experience.

My guess is that Sandweg is with the gay lobby (he looks like he has a little sugar in his tank). Also, the University of Arizona is where people go that cannot get into community college in California. Dinkins (AKA: Dumb-kins) is just as bad, just ask anyone who knew him from his early days in Customs, if you told them back then that he would eventually lead an agency they would have fallen down laughing.

The only good thing that can be said about ICE is that is pays six-figures to do absolutely nothing (as one ICE employee stated some time ago most of the people he works with go to school or work other jobs)—hell, the former SAC of Minneapolis (legacy INS) got his law degree on government time and now works for a scumbag immigration attorney. The SAC of San Francisco has little actual LE experience and does not even hold a college degree. Most local agencies in the Bay Area require a Masters degree for management positions, how embarrassing is that?

King David on September 5, 2013 at 10:25 pm

If enforcing immigration law was taken seriously, they would never have a kid like this run the show. For us old farts, there really was a day when we did arrest aliens and work prosecution cases. Each contributor to this article offers valid bits & pieces about just how far we have fallen off our mark. We are purposeless, directionless and thank Goodness I can retire any time the mood strikes. But where else can I earn $140,000 a year for doing absolutely nothing in an unsupervised environment?

With America being ran by traitors, overran by illegal aliens, it’s people turning into dumbed down sheep, and the country being turned into something like Sodom and Gomorrah, it isn’t looking good. The final nail in our coffin will be if our country ever turns against Israel. G_d won’t tolerate that, he has said so in the scriptures. And,off the subject, but, I really don’t understand why the U.S. and Israel are supporting the rebels in Syria, who are either Al Quiada or muslim brotherhood, or both. Why not just let them kill each other? Then we don’t even have to pay for the bombs and jet fuel.

RT on September 6, 2013 at 1:42 am

To “King David”, “AR” and “#1 Vato” – Do you guys think that the Director of ICE Morton and now this new guy, do they carry a gun? Are they issued a gun? Can they make arrests? It seems to me that NO ONE at ICE (ERO) above Deportation Officer even CARRIES a gun! Do they get LEO pay? Do they have a weapon issued? It seems like when a junior member of ICE (ERO) is late for QUARTERLY Firearms and Defensive Tactics training by even 5 MINUTES, management will act as if your career is OVER. However, I’ve never even SEEN in 7 years ANYONE above SDDO even qualify at the range!?!?! How are they LAW ENFORCEMENT?!?!?! We have IEA’s out of our “Academy” for YEARS and have NEVER MADE ONE ACTUAL STREET ARREST. I know ERO doesn’t exactly “hit the street” everyday but come on! I’ve made ACTUAL Street Arrests as an IEA in ERO at LEAST a couple dozen times in 7 years and I’m NOT EVEN TRYING THAT HARD! Guys were applying to DO after a couple years and HAVEN’T ARRESTED ANYONE EVER! What about these “Directors”? Have they ever done ANYTHING remotely similar to Law Enforcement? Some “Managers” have high school ONLY!!! I worked in RETAIL with guys that had more education. WTF is going on at ICE?!?!? Sometimes it’s SO CRAZY here I got to laugh, wow.

LA ICE Guy on September 6, 2013 at 3:47 am

You appoint the likes of John Sandweg to head an agency when you really do not want someone actually running it. Sandweg is a bookend or cipher through which the White House actually runs things at ICE.

ICE/HSI turned the corner of no return years ago, it’s been downhill ever since. I must agree with a lot of posters, agency differences aside, ICE/HSI is a disaster and “management” does not want to hire “law enforcement” professionals (hell, even a mall cop has more experience in arrests and seizures.) They hire law enfarcement, who in turn hires law enfarcement, so on and so fourth…Voila! ICE/HSI.

ICE/HSI instead hires people who say they can “do” law enforcement; sort of like a kid saying he can fly a plane because he/she plays that game on the computer; or saying they can be a special ops military person because they did so well on the XBox. Actually ICE/HSI hires “management” to run the agency because they did so well on Super Mario Brothers. (get the point?)

Sometimes they (management)don’t have to be good at anything except, as someone so succinctly put it, because of “political fellatio”, and/or “political cunnilingus”.

And, yes, the good hard working agents and officers are constantly being harassed by the incompetent Clowns who have never conducted an arrest or criminal investigation in their careers, and never will.

In spite of getting a six figure salary for being required by management to sit around all day doing absolutely nothing (actually quite a few don’t mind sitting around all day surfing the internet), morale is still low at ICE/HSI. You would think management would pick up on this and make changes, but oooh nooo, they continue to reward their fellow Clowns with promotions and choice assignments.

ICE/HSI is a giant, fumbling, bumbling, keystone kop, three ring clown circus, that no criminal, administrative or otherwise, needs to fear.

Mr. MF Jones on September 6, 2013 at 11:36 am

C’mon folks what did you expect from the O’Clown? You didn’t think that he would pick someone even remotely qualified. I mean look at who he picked for his VP, Sec Def, Sec State, UN Rep, and National Security Advisor just to name a few. The pick of another incompetent is just par for the course for the Obamanation.

Ken b on September 6, 2013 at 12:11 pm

I think that Sandweg is a very appropriate choice for this position. He apparently has, in the past, defended child molesters, wife beaters, drunk drivers and terrorists.

In his new position, he will defend child molesters, wife beaters, drunk drivers and terrorists.

Little Al on September 6, 2013 at 12:37 pm

I don’t like you knocking a person because he is a criminal defense attorney. They are a very vital constituent of our justice system. Good aggressive criminal defense attorney keep the police and prosecutor’s honest. Being and attorney, you should know what I mean by that. You do live in Oakland County don’t you?

George R on September 6, 2013 at 6:21 pm

Like most fools, George R needs a little help with grammar. But aside from the sleaziness of most criminal defense attorneys, and the role they play in our society of giving aid and comfort to criminals, and stretching the law, more and more, to accommodate and give ever increasing latitude and leeway to criminals (thus going well beyond the commonly-thought role of simply defense), George R misses the point of the post.

Is this adequate preparation for an Immigration Chief? Of course not. There are several posts by those working for ICE who have expert knowledge of the subject. These informative posts should be read and reread.

Little Al on September 6, 2013 at 7:04 pm

Little Al; Pardon my grammatical errors, inadvertently, I submitted my comment before proof reading it. My comment had nothing to do with John Sandweg’s suitability for Acting ICE Director. It was just to say that good aggressive Criminal Defense Attorneys keep the police, prosecutors and the courts honest. If u don’t believe me, just ask Debbie. She should be able to tell you about the sleazy cops, sociopathic prosecutors and judges(Attorneys) in her own back yard. If you believe that all is on the up and up with them, then you are very naive.

Well, Defense Attorneys do a little more than keeping the police honest. They re responsible for handcuffing the police, preventing them from doing their jobs, and, in some cases, actually sending police to prison.

In defending their clients, they concurrently expand the boundaries of lawlessness, and widen the types of behavior that become accepted in society. Although police and prosecutors are not perfect, the criminals defended by these attorneys are much, much, worse.

Little Al on September 7, 2013 at 9:17 pm

Crooked people in authority, especially police, prosecutors & judges are more dangerous than common criminals. If a cop is sent to hail it’s because he/she broke the law. They are supposed to enforce, not break the law! They, prosecutors & judges are not above the law.
