Starbucks Must Do THIS For Police . . . But It Won’t

By Debbie Schlussel

You’ve probably heard about the disgusting behavior by a Starbucks barista in Tempe, Arizona, who asked police to leave. There’s something Starbucks must do to address the situation . . . but it won’t because police already let the coffee empire off too easy.

You know the story: on Independence Day, when most Americans were fortunate to have the day off to celebrate America’s birth, six Tempe police officers gave up their day off and were working to keep an American city safe. As thanks for their service–service in which police officers risk their lives every single day–a Starbucks customer said he/she/it “did not feel safe” with police drinking coffee there, and a spineless jellyfish of a Starbucks barista asked them to leave.

While I don’t know the respective ethnicities of the lowlife customer and the ejected Tempe police officers, I would be willing to bet this is a case of racism. And I’m sure you know the kind I’m talking about. Or it’s just some stupid White liberal hipster who wishes he/she/it were born a minority and wants to feel down wit da struggle and faux-oppressed with their “pain.”

Regardless of that, there is something Starbucks must absolutely do, but probably won’t . . . unless police all over America boycott Starbucks and keep up the pressure until it does. To wit, Starbucks must close all of its stores for a day and have all of its baristas educated by local police in what I call “Blue Sensitivity Training.”

As you’ll recall, Starbucks closed all of its stores for a day, last year, for “anti-bias training” because a barista called police on some Black men who refused to buy anything and refused to leave. Clearly, the “anti-bias” training was only about the Black race and not about police or any other group. We know that because we know who the “instructors” were, and they were all professional race merchants. (And even before that, we knew that Starbucks was obsessed with race, when it started a failed campaign to have customers ask baristas questions about race to “spark discussion.”)

If Starbucks was truly sorry for this outrageous behavior toward police customers, it would give them at least the same respect and response as it gave the Black non-customers. But don’t hold your breath.

The Tempe police union reps and other police around the country were too quick to accept Starbucks’ empty apology that it was forced to make. They should have taken a cue from the race-hustling shakedown kings. Clearly, paying customers who also actually keep Starbucks safe by virtue of their presence, don’t get the respect Starbucks gives those of a certain complexion.

And not only is that disgusting behavior toward the police who keep Starbucks free from chaos, it’s also racism.

Starbucks coffee stinks anyway. What’s going on in this country? ONE person complains and customers are asked to leave? Nike pulls it shoe because one idiot complained? Most establishments are happy to have cops frequent their establishment, because they know there are less problems and won’t be robbed.
Maybe Starbucks should close all its stores for “training” as they did with a previous incident to show their sincerity.

I just read the news from your site about a Starbucks employee asking the police to leave on July 4, 2019. As a former LEO myself I am going to talk to as many people as I can and ask them to also ask their friends to boycott Starbucks coffee shops. I am just plain sick of these wimps in our society that daily, disrespect our men, women and K-9 officers. The disgusting things these outcasts do to our police officers makes me ill to put it nicely. Fast food places have put our officers health in jeopardy by doing and bragging about the disgusting acts against our officers. Next time I am around officers who are waiting to place their orders I am going to ask them to let me order for them. I will pay for their meal or meals to try and insure that othing horrible is done to their orders out of sight of the officers. Perhaps this idea would let our officers know that the vast majority of our population is there for them just as they are there for us. If you would take a few minutes and register for the newsletter from Blur Lives Matter or BlueLivesMatter you will receive news about what our officers face daily from police news all over our nation. I am 68 years old now and I have never seen so much hatred for not only our police officers but for almost every race, males and females. I am not alone in my thoughts. If you would like to ask me anything please simply email me. Thank you for sharing about Starbucks. I will no longer ever purchase any Starbucks products even if I was dying of thirst.

It isn’t only in this situation – the constant badmouthing of police (starting with Obama’s poisonous weed of a Presidency) leading to cop killings and abuses like this. I have been noticing more and more that the pro-abortion crowd’s constant and continuous disparagement of motherhood and their looking down on children as an undue burden has played a role in fostering a depraved indifference, callous disregard, cavalier disdain and utter hatred towards life, and (along with the radical abortion agenda pushed in states like New York and Virginia and Vermont) spurring the recent spate of infanticides such as Jada McClain murdering her newborn son in New Jersey, Marylinn Feher doing likewise to her newborn in Michigan (in both cases, each’s boyfriend discarding the babies’ bodies in garbage disposals – the perfect encapsulation of the abortion culture’s overall attitude towards life), and an unnamed mother murdering her baby and leaving the body next to a garbage pile in the Mott Haven section of The Bronx, New York, in the April-May period.

Debbie, thanks for your column on this incident. If it had been a group of blacks or Hispanics who were asked to leave, this would be all over the crap networks and cable news. And Starbucks would have fired the barista by now. Okay to target police and law enforcement. What’s next, customers wearing MAGA hats, etc., being asked to leave or refused service? That’s been done at other businesses.

For what it’s worth, I’ve spoken to a number of Starbucks baristas, and they are more than embarrassed about the woke and PC behavior. I also think that Howard Schultz is truly dismayed about how radical the Dems have become.

However, he has a very bad case of tikkun olam, and won’t be switching to conservatism anytime soon.

Although the French have their deserved reputation.

French police kick a$$. They should be called in to give Starbucks some genuine Yellow Vest sensitivity training.
Yes, the French are so imbecilic they will still vote for the next Macron and quenelle their way to oblivion regardless but French police will kick their butts in style while they do it.

Glad you’re back Debbie

I wrote this joke for the occasion of Debbie’s return. It’s an update on an older comic idea:

A tenured leftist professor holding the “distinguished” Karl Marx Chair of Economics at Harvard University is explaining to her class the “golden rule” that “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs,” and that under an ideal socialist economy, there will be “free lunch” for all.

One of the students in the back of the class, however, raises her hand and tells the leftist professor that Milton Freedman, a Nobel Prize winner in economics, has advised that there is no such thing as a “free lunch.”

The leftist professor responds, “Well, yes, in Milton Freedman’s capitalist society, that places limits on human achievement, there is no “free lunch,” but in the ideal socialist world that I’m speaking of, there is, indeed, “free lunch” for everyone!”

The student says, “Okay, if you say so. I’ll ask Milton Freedman when I get to Heaven to find out who is correct.”

“But what if Milton Freedom didn’t make it to Heaven?” the professor asks.

“Well, in that case, you ask him,” says the student.

HOORAY ! ! !

At loooong last!

Statistically the article is spot-on, and by intent it is proper.

And then there is the case of Broward County Florida where I live where the the prior sheriff Scott Israel hired a practicing (really a pro-active CAIR operative) muslim to work on the police force.

I have some personal experience interfacing with other police officers who’s reputations preceded them.

Now when most people call the police department, they run the risk of having a deputy show up who’s sworn to a practiced religion that calls for their murder or for whoever is left over, their subjugation to the status of a dhimmi.

Oh, but wait, it gets better. Now when an office is called on a [statistically probable] islamic terror attack, and calls for backup of a fellow officer to protect him, the officer who arrives may be one who’s first sworn oath is to promote and protect islam and its “terrorist” who is actually just a practicing orthodox muslim carrying out diktats from the koran and who’s second priority is apparently to infiltrate the police with the purpose of exercising stealth jihad in whatever form that may take… like getting a free pass for islam and getting more practicing muslim officers on the force intimidating and brain-washing non-followers.

Unless the customer had some insight along the lines discussed above with all the facts not reported, Debbie is right and Starbucks is wrong.

But on the other hand, what group of fellow police officers might hang with a fellow police officer who happens to be a practicing muslim? Perhaps police departments need to take a look at themselves and decide who and what they want to be.

thank you, Phil

Actually, Starbucks is just a meeting place, their actual coffee sucks! They’ve managed to combine their name brand w/ the trend of not forcing visitors to buy their stuff and attracted crowds that way.

I make all my coffee at home, and usually go for either soft drinks or juices if I’m eating/drinking out

Welcome back!

I don’t often drink coffee but when I do it’s not Starbucks. Actually 7-11 has a better brew and is miles cheaper. Also why would I patronize a place that would treat our men and women in blue that way. Isn’t it funny how the left treats the police until they need them. It’s illustrates how hypocritical those people are.

Josh on July 22, 2019 at 5:00 pm

That’s a rude man really. Police are working day and night just for our safety but this kind of behaviour ain’t good. How could someone feel unsafe while an officer drinking coffee near him?
