“Iron Lady”? Not Exactly: Arafat & Maggie, Pals From the Start
Unlike so many ignorant conservatives who can’t be bothered to know better or give a damn, I was never a fan of Lady Margaret Thatcher because of her anti-Israel, pan-Islamist pronouncements and actions done to please her Saudi and other Mid-East Arab petro-dollar buddies and many Muslim Brits.
While Margaret Thatcher is thought of as a conservative, all things are relative. Yes, she was conservative on taxes (she lowered them), deregulation (she supported it), and unions (she made coal miners and others go back to work), but she was not conservative on anything else, including social issues or foreign policy (unless it meant the British Empire holding on to the Falkland Islands halfway around the world). She was what the liberals in America’s Republican Party want the GOP to be today: conservative fiscally . . . and like the liberal Democrats on everything else. Thatcher didn’t care about illegal aliens, especially those of the Muslim variety who now dominate her country today because she did nothing about secure borders in 12 years as Prime Minister and really didn’t do all that much to stem the tide of British entitlements and welfare for them, contrary to her rhetoric. She was, like most European “conservatives,” a liberal Democrat with a Republican fiscal policy. And that’s why Europe, no matter what policies its countries have, is lost. If you ignore the social issues and immigration, nothing else you do matters in the long run.

As you may know, it’s Holocaust Memorial Day/Holocaust Remembrance Day. And it cannot possibly be a coincidence that the Anonymous hackers also tried, today, to take down Israeli sites, especially and specifically Yad VaShem, the Israeli Holocaust Memorial Museum. There are no coincidences. Not on stuff like this. As if we needed more evidence that the far-left is infested with anti-Semitism. Six million Jews murdered by the Nazis . . . and Anonymous dances on their graves. Thing is, some targeted Israeli sites like Ha’aretz are so anti-Israel that you’d hardly notice the change had the hacking been successful.

I’ve never seen the original “The Evil Dead,” of which “Evil Dead” is a remake. I’ve seen some clips, but not the entire thing. But I saw this with people who saw the original, and they said this one was far more bloody, graphic, and so on. They said the dismemberment and gore factor was significantly up in this version, and that the campiness factor was down. For example, in the original, when someone’s hands are cut off, the hands end up crawling around the room. (*** CORRECTION: I’m told that happens in the second movie, “Evil Dead II.”) None of that kind of thing happens in this version. And this version is humorless. And it literally rains blood. Remakes are rarely better.
For the record, I like horror movies and thrillers, but this was a little too gory, bloody, and disgusting for me. People sawing off their body parts ad nauseam, people sawing off their jaws, people shot through with nail guns . . . not for me. But if this is your thing or you are a warped serial killer looking for new ways to senselessly torture, then this movie is for you. I found it pointless and a waste of time. Very few parts of it were scary to me. Instead, it seemed old hat and its “scariness” seemed anachronistic to me. If you do a search on the Target website, as I did, for the phrase, “Manatee Grey,” you’ll come up with at least ten different items, from men’s t-shirts to towels to placemats. It’s a color used by Target for a lot of items. But, since we’re in the age of anything goes, including “fat chick acceptance” and the “Million Pound March,” a bunch of overweight women are offended. And since we’re also in the age of political correctness and appeasement uber-alles, Target apologized to the fat chicks, er . . . calorically gifted (or is that, “differently digestive”?) women for using the shade of Manatee Grey for a plus-sized dress.
It’s absurd. You don’t see men complaining that three different Target men’s t-shirts are also colored “Manatee Grey.” And the plus-sized dress also comes in other colors, none of which is Manateed or Hippo’d, but probably should be. These fat chicks are whining because they know deep down that they are overweight, that they need to eat less and exercise more, and they don’t want to face that. They’d rather turn their rage and despair over never being asked out by the hot guy and take it out on Target. After all, why face facts and do something about the extra pounds? We not only live in the age where even the skinniest TV anchors and movie stars pretend that they think “Plus Size is beautiful” (and they do not!), but we live in an age where store chains like Torrid make gazillions telling these fat chicks that instead of aiming to lose weight they will be sexy as they are while wearing “Cross Your Heart Hammocks” on their giant chests and thong underwear resembling the size and length of the Brooklyn Bridge surrounded by butt cheeks that resemble hot air balloons. People Magazine, in what should have been a parody, tells us that sickeningly, morbidly obese actress Gabourey Sidibe, is one of the “Most Beautiful People.” Um, only to Stevie Wonder and chubby chasers (assuming they are on top). QANTAS has removed pork from its in-flight menu on flights to and from Europe as a result of its partnership with Middle Eastern airline Emirates. Occasionally, he was collegial and thoughtful, in some e-mails between us. But many times he was not, as when Roger deliberately lied about me in the comments section of a New York Times article about Paramount Pictures revoking and then restoring my movie screening privileges. I alerted him to it, thinking he’d have solidarity with me as a movie critic whose privileges were revoked over a negative review. Silly me. Roger publicly called me a liar and claimed a movie that was screened for critics in Detroit was not screened for critics. But he admitted he was wrong in an e-mail exchange with me, and he posted another comment revoking his incorrect one. That’s how he was. Stubborn well past the point of truth, But sometimes nice, doing the right thing. I was the same way with him (I hope) and chose to take the upper road when I publicly wished him a complete recovery from cancer and when I apologized to him for not knowing that Howard Stern’s people were ambushing him with my phone call (which they did, after telling me Roger knew I’d be on with him). But he always stuck to his orthodox leftist, anti-Israel, pro-Muslim beliefs. That was my experience, anyway. And often, I felt he was spoiled by the waning power and influence he’d had over Hollywood.
When there was “Siskel and Ebert at the Movies,” I believe he always knew that Gene Siskel was the smarter and far superior movie critic of the two and didn’t like that. But later in e-mails to me, he would praise Siskel’s views on some movies and told me that they mirrored some of my own in reviews of mine he’d read. I was honored by the comparison. As a movie critic, he was a good one . . . when the movie was not political or about race and he could keep his personal politics out of it. But when the movie was about racism, Ebert was always strictly “down with the struggle,” no matter how horrible or dishonest or race-baiting the movie was. Ditto for left-wing films on other topics. (I am political in my movie reviews, as all my readers know, but I don’t pretend to be otherwise, as he did.) He also liked movies that glorified Islamic terrorists, which wasn’t too far from his personal, real life views. And, jibing with that, Ebert was vehemently anti-Israel, too. Eddie Bryant, a disabled combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient, says he was kicked out of the Florida Skydiving Center, also known as “Skydive Lake Wales,” because he refused to cover up his “kafir” (Arabic for infidel or non-believer) tattoo on his leg, which offended Qatari Muslims who were at the skydiving business. The veteran says he likes to skydive and was humiliated by the way he was treated. I tried calling the Florida Skydiving Center for comment, but they don’t answer the phone, and the voicemail is full (probably with messages of rightful outrage).

On Sunday, as I was getting ready for my absence for the last days of Passover, I heard the news of a man crashing his vehicle into Walmart and then getting out and attacking customers. I wondered, since it was Easter and reminded me of several other vehicle jihads by Muslims–including a Palestinian Muslim deliberately driving into a Home Depot because he opposed secure American borders–if this attacker was Muslim also. And, after I returned online Tuesday Night, I learned that my suspicions proved correct. The man is Haamid Ade Zaid. But, since learning his name, the news about this guy has gotten worse. This is apparently his second vehicle jihad, and he–incredibly!–was out on bond for the first one. His first victim said Zaid was clearly on a “mission” to hurt people. Yup, that’s jihad. The guy is an Islamic terrorist. Period.

Incredibly, authorities initially dismissed the Walmart incident by saying that Haamid Zaid, was on drugs or drunk or mentally unstable. But, again, this is the SECOND TIME that this Muslim man sought to drive his car into Americans and cause harm to them. Clearly, this isn’t about drugs, depression, or being nuts. It’s about jihad against Americans. And, yet, this jihadist was out on bail to do it a second time, which he carefully timed for Easter Sunday. No coincidence.
SAN JOSE — In a story that is racking up national headlines, police say a drug-addled Seaside native crashed his car into an East San Jose Walmart and bludgeoned customers and an employee with a blunt object before he was tackled by onlookers Sunday morning.
Haamid Ade Zaid, 33, was booked into Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, hit and run, being under the influence of drugs and resisting arrest, according to the San Jose Police Department. He was identified as a Seaside resident by police, but a relative said he now lives in San Jose.Zaid is being held without bail in connection with the chaotic attack that rattled an Easter Sunday shopping crowd and ended with four people injured, one seriously. Not long after the Greek Orthodox Katsiroubas was taken to a mosque in London, he became an Al-Qaeda terrorist and mass murderer. And, now, Katsiroubas, known as “The Blond Jihadist,” is dead. This could happen to any kid in Canada . . . AND America. And anywhere else.

Remember the Americans and other foreign workers who were taken hostage and 38 of whom were executed by Al-Qaeda terrorists in Algeria? Well, at least two of the terrorists who murdered them came from right near Detroit, in London, Ontario, Canada. What most people don’t realize is that Windsor and London are repositories for the few Muslims so dangerous that the U.S. will not allow them to come here and live in Dearbornistan. When they are deported from here, they often go to London. And like Muslims everywhere in Western civilization, they influence and recruit non-Muslims to Islam and extremism. Dawa–Islamic proselytizing–is one of the main tenets of the religion.
Not long after 9/11, I was invited by the Jewish community in London, Ontario, a couple of hours outside Detroit, to speak at their annual fundraising event. Before my speech, I was driven through downtown London, which looks like a version of Dearbornistan, actually it’s even worse. Like Dearbornistan, many of the storefronts have signs in Arabic only. But, like I said, the few extremely dangerous Muslims rejected by and/or deported from the U.S. (and we have plenty that get in to the U.S. carte blanche) often go to live in London, Ontario.
Given that, it’s no surprise that two friends–one of them an Arab Muslim and the other, his Greek Orthodox friend whom he converted to Islam in London–were among the terrorists who murdered the Americans and 39 others at the In Amenas gas plant in Algeria.
The survivors of an attack on Algeria’s In Amenas gas refinery earlier this year have not forgotten the hostage taker who was unlike the others. Blond, blue-eyed, and speaking perfect English, the Islamist militant was one of the leaders in the attack that took place on January 16 that resulted in the deaths of 38 hostages and 29 assailants. The identity of the “blond jihadist” was disclosed by Canadian public television channel CBC, which located him in the peaceful city of London, Ontario.
