OUTRAGE: Obama’s Choice for Immigration Chief Got Clinton to Commute Drug Kingpin’s Sentence, Likely Took Bribes

By Debbie Schlussel
Why did Barack Obama pick a man who got a drug kingpin out of prison, as the top man deciding who becomes a U.S. citizen?
Remember when President Clinton commuted the 15 year sentence for drug kingpin Carlos Vignali? Vignali served only about 6 years of his sentence, less than half of what he was supposed to serve for transporting 800 pounds of cocaine to Minnesota to be converted for sale as crack.
Vignali, Hispanic and the son of a wealthy Democratic campaign donor, barely did any time, while the small fish who worked for him–most of them Black and poor–continued to serve long sentences.

alejandromayorkas.jpgcarlosvignali.jpg

New Obama Immigration Chief Alejandro Mayorkas

Sprung Drug Kingpin Carlos Vignali From Prison
Well, the reason Clinton commuted Vignali’s sentence was a man named Alejandro Mayorkas, then the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California. Mayorkas called Clinton and his Justice Department lobbying for Vignali’s commutation and release from federal prison to freedom. A subsequent Congressional investigation criticized his actions in this episode. Who knows how much money Vignali’s father paid Mayorkas for this successful effort? The senior Vignali paid Hillary Clinton’s bro, Hugh Rodham, over $200K to lobby his Brother-in-Law-in-Chief to do the same kind of lobbying as Mayorkas did for Vignali’s freedom. Even the Latino Polics blog believes that Mayorkas took a pay-off from Horacio Vignali, believed to be his son’s drug supplier.
Now, Barack Hussein Obama has nominated this corrupt figure, Mayorkas, to head of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)–the agency which decides who becomes a U.S. citizen and who does not, the agency which gives out green cards, certain visas, and other immigration benefits.
From a 2002 L.A. Times article on Mayorkas’ outrageous behavior:

Federal agents for more than 20 years suspected that a wealthy Los Angeles businessman, who recruited top Southern California law enforcement officials to persuade President Clinton to free his cocaine-dealing son, was involved in drug trafficking.
Horacio Vignali gained national attention last year as the dedicated father who successfully enlisted Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, former U.S. Atty. Alejandro Mayorkas and a host of elected officials in a longshot bid to win the early release of his son. Clinton eventually freed Carlos Vignali, who had served six years of a 15-year sentence for dealing kilos of cocaine.
A congressional inquiry into pardons and commutations granted by Clinton on his last day in office turned up confidential federal law enforcement reports containing unproven allegations that the elder Vignali also was in the cocaine business. One informant told the federal Drug Enforcement Administration that Vignali was his son’s supplier. . . .
Yet the report raises pointed questions about whether local law enforcement leaders should have checked Vignali’s background before describing him to the White House as a man of the highest integrity.
In the drug trial of his son, Carlos, prosecutors said the defendant showed no interest in making a deal for a lesser prison term by revealing who supplied him with the cocaine and instead went to trial despite strong evidence against him.
Todd Jones, the former U.S. attorney in Minneapolis, where the young Vignali was prosecuted, said investigators and prosecutors suspected “he did not want to snitch on his dad” or someone else very close to him.
“That’s just logic,” Jones said. “We knew it [the drug conspiracy] did not end with this 21-year-old kid, so obviously there was someone close to him that he was extremely loyal to and that he was willing to go to prison for, for a long time.” . . .
[T]he House Committee on Government Reform . . . cited [that] this month in a report critical of Southern California politicians and the two law enforcement leaders who helped Vignali persuade Clinton.
The committee said Baca and Mayorkas would have had access to law enforcement files and should have checked them.

Do you really think Mayorkas will do a better job checking the backgrounds of aliens seeking permanent legal residence in America?
Think again. If the price is right, he’s apparently the go to guy to get your inconvenient background “conveniently overlooked.”
Predictably, clueless Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano a/k/a “The Lesbionic Woman” thinks this is just terrif:

“I am proud to announce President Obama’s intent to nominate Alejandro Mayorkas as U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director. . . .
Alejandro’s expertise covers a wide array of issues critical to the Department.

Uh-huh, like helping drug kingpins get out of the big house. This isn’t a source of pride. It’s an embarrassment.
Do we really want a guy who helped get a drug kingpin out of federal prison, deciding that people with similar people will get U.S. citizenship?
Well, with 60 votes in the U.S. Senate, we’ll likely have no choice. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. After all, Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, also was instrumental in the Vignali commutation. Let’s see if–unlike at the Holder confirmation hearings–any U.S. Senator has the guts to ask Mayorkas about his actions on behalf of the Vignalis. Doubtful.
Holder was right. We are a “nation of cowards.” If we weren’t, we’d hold Obama and his boys, Holder and Mayorkas, responsible for their disgusting soft on crime behavior, and they’d be living in disgrace, not holding cabinet and federal agency chief positions.
Nauseating.
America . . . desperate, but not serious.

U2’s “The Edge”: Yet Another Celeb Eco-Hypocrite

By Debbie Schlussel
I love ridiculing celebrity Eco-Hypocrites because it’s just too easy. Too easy for them to lecture us on what to do, and too easy for them to not do it. The latest, comes from my favorite rock cornucopia of hypocrisy: U2.
It’s not just that U2 rockers–including and especially Bono and “The Edge” (slave name: David Evans)–are jet-set eco-hypocrites, wasting oodles of gas on their private planes and wasting tons more energy to put on their concert tours.
It’s that, well, there’s not a single thing they practice, in the course of preaching it to you and me. Here’s the latest example:

The Edge and his wife, Morleigh Steinberg, bought 156 acres in Santa Monica Mountains and now want to build five mansions there, including their own dream home.

theedgewife.jpg

U2’s “The Edge” & Wife:

“We Need Five Mansions, 50K Sq. Ft. & a Moat to Save Energy”

“These homes will be some of the most environmentally sensitive ever designed in Malibu – or anywhere in the world,” the guitarist . . . said in a prepared statement.
Nearby residents, however, haven’t bought his green pitch and say The Edge is endangering the beauty of one of Southern California’s most famous beachfront communities along with U2’s globally conscious image. . . .
The plan has sparked the latest development controversy in Malibu, where residents and city officials portray themselves as stewards of a blessed environment – even as the construction of palatial mansions and sweeping driveways turn vast swaths of that environment to mulch.
The project proposed by The Edge calls for a cluster of five, 10,000-square-foot homes. The two-story, earth-toned dwellings would be the maximum size allowed in areas designated as environmentally sensitive habitat.
Renderings show organic design features such as a pool that encircles one home like a moat. . . .The Edge is also proposing to dig an access road up the mountain. . . .
“They’re claiming it’s a green environmental project, but you’d have to live in the houses a thousand years” to make up for the carbon dioxide emitted by the trucks hauling the dirt out, said Lawrence Weisdorn, president of the Serra Retreat homeowners association. . . .
Critics [say] . . . [f]lora and fauna may be lost, energy and water will be used to create and transport building materials, not to mention filling the pools and lighting up the mansions even if they are helped by solar panels. . . .
Mark Abramson, director of watershed programs with the Santa Monica Baykeeper, said he has serious doubts about claims by The Edge that his hillside homes would be among the most environmental in the world.

Question: Why does someone who tells Americans they don’t give enough to charity–as “The Edge” and his friend, Bono, do–need five mansions? And how on earth does it “conserve” energy to bring heat and cool and bring running water to five 10,000-square-foot mansions? Five mansions for TWO people total?
Just curious. Yup, when it comes to being eco-conscious, the pretentiously self-monikered “The Edge” ain’t so edgy after all.
Celeb Eco-Hypocrisy: Utilize energy as we say, not as our mansions, planes, concert tours, and movie sets do.
Among my many previous posts on this: Hollywood’s Carbon Footprint: Celeb Mag Slams Celeb Enviro-Hypocrisy

Ad of the Day

By Debbie Schlussel
In case you haven’t been paying attention, this is about Joe Biden’s ignorant statement regarding H1N1/Swine Flu, saying he’s staying away from subways, flights, and everything else to avoid it. But the ad could be about anything Joe Biden says–his many gaffes and outrageous statements before now, and the many that will come to follow in the next four to eight years.

My Friend, Jack Kemp, Rest in Peace: Former VP Candidate, Congressman Fought For Freedom, Israel, Supply Side Economics

By Debbie Schlussel
Several months ago, I told you about reports that my friend, former U.S. Congressman and Republican Vice Presidential candidate Jack Kemp, was ill with cancer, and his prognosis wasn’t good.
Sadly, we learned that Jack Kemp died today. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I was a Michigan organizer for his Presidential campaign from 1985 through 1988, when I was a Jack Kemp delegate to the Republican National Convention (and the second youngest delegate to the convention overall). In the years since, Jack Kemp went slightly liberal on us. But who can forget his tremendous contributions to the important causes of freedom, capitalism, and human rights? It’s because of that, that I and my family planted trees in Jack’s honor in the Irving W. and Marilyn Schlussel Forest in Jerusalem. Jack thanked me over and over when I presented him with the certificates.
I Have a Ton of Pics w/ Jack Kemp (but this was the least fugly–most were taken as I was gaining the “Freshman Ten” in college) . . .

jackkempschlussel2.jpg

Me With Jack Kemp, mid-1980s

In Congress, Jack Kemp was not only a key conservative leader, but an important advocate of supply side economics and the Reagan revolution in Congress. He was an important fighter for freedom and human rights for persecuted Jews–Refuseniks–in the then-Soviet Union and an important proponent of the Jackson-Vanik Amendment to the U.S. Trade Bill, tying trade with the Soviets to their human rights record. He was a Scoop Jackson Republican and an important proponent of Israel’s right to exist in the Middle East. Kemp was one of the early Republicans to recognize the jihadist problems and terrorist threats that Muslims posed–and do even more so, today–worldwide. Jack Kemp loved America, but he also worried for those far from our shores.
I was proud to become a personal friend of Jack Kemp, whom I got to know as a teen intern on Capitol Hill, as a key campaign worker in Michigan, and later in life when I would run into him from time to time in Washington and elsewhere. He would even tease me about my boyfriends at the time and joke around, etc. I literally knew him since I was 15. He was always a nice guy, a class act, and the very definition of a mensch.
Although I grew disappointed with his support of open borders, expanded rights for illegal aliens, affirmative action for minorities, and the contracts he gave Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under Bush that father, I will never forget his important contributions to freedom, liberty, and justice, when it counted . . . when he was in Congress and had a vote and a strong voice on the House Foreign Relations Committee.
With a great head of hair and perpetual movie star looks, Jack Kemp was also a great NFL quarterback who interned for Governor Ronald Reagan in the off-season (and that’s how he became a conservative), but that was not what was his important contribution to America. Nor was his run as Bob Dole’s running mate, when he knew he would be a sacrificial lamb against Clinton-Gore’s re-election.
Here’s what is important about Jack Kemp. Many people are free today and can freely practice Judaism because of Jack F. Kemp’s important fights against the Soviet Union and Arab Muslim’s fights against Israel’s right to exist. He also was the reason there are “enterprise zones” in many of America’s inner cities, today. (He was that rare conservative Republican who regularly got the majority of the Black vote in his Buffalo, New York district.)
Jack, you will not be forgotten.
I’ve re-posted, below, what I wrote about Jack Kemp when I learned of his illness. Some of it is repetitive (forgive me), but his important contributions bear repeating. This was a good and decent man and a truly great American. And he will definitely missed. I mourn his loss with the many who knew him.
Jack Kemp, Rest in Peace.
***

Bad news about a man who was once seen as a top leader in the conservative movement and a promising Presidential candidate. Jack Kemp, who went from Buffalo Bills QB to Reagan intern in California to rising political star in Washington, has cancer. It is apparently very serious, and I hope he recovers.
When I was a teen, one of my heroes was then-Congressman Jack Kemp. At the time, he was a down-the-line conservative who was pro-America, pro-Israel, and pro-self-empowerment. He championed tax cuts and enterprise zones and got it right, whether it was domestic or foreign policy. He was an important and vocal person in the fight against oppression in the then-Soviet Union and a strong supporter of sanctions against the country. As a high school student, I was one of the many who were involved in Jack Kemp’s campaign for President in 1988, which essentially began back in 1984. I got to know Kemp and was instrumental in his Michigan campaign–at the time Michigan was the first in the nation to pick its Republican delegates. I became a Jack Kemp delegate to the 1988 Republican National Convention.

jackkempcards_0001.jpgjackkempcards_0002.jpg

Jack Kemp Cards–Rookie Card at Right (Schlussel Collection)

But after that, Jack Kemp started to go liberal. He opposed propositions in California and elsewhere that limited affirmative action and stopped benefits for illegal aliens. And he endorsed a number of other liberal ideas. That’s not to mention that as HUD Secretary under President George H.W. Bush, Kemp granted security contracts in federal housing projects to the Nation of Islam.
Still, I can’t forget the many important things Jack Kemp did that helped build the conservative cause and which were good for America. And regardless of his politics, he’s a good man for whose well-being and recovery from cancer I’ll be praying. I hope you’ll do the same.

Sadly, those prayers were not answered. But, I am sure, he is now in a far better place.
Again, Jack Kemp, Rest In Peace.

TRAVESTY: Achille Lauro Muslim Hijacker who Murdered Klinghoffer Freed

By Debbie Schlussel
Italy sucks. Sadly, this isn’t the first time that country has been soft on Islamic terrorists, and it won’t be the last.
Last summer, Italy freed another of the 1985 Achille Lauro hijacker/murderers, Ibrahim Fatayer Abdelatif.
Now, they’ve released the man who shot my friend, Lisa Klinghoffer’s dad, Leon, in cold blood, when he was a helpless 69-year-old in a wheelchair celebrating his wedding anniversary. His crime: Being a Jew and an American.

One of the Palestinians who hijacked the Achille Lauro cruise ship and killed a U.S. passenger in 1985 has been released after more than 23 years in jail in Sicily, officials said yesterday.

leonklinghoffer.jpgleonklinghofferheadstone.jpg

Leon Klinghoffer: American Hero in Life & Death

Youssef Magied al-Molqui, a member of the four-man team that hijacked the ship off Egypt, had been serving a 30-year sentence, which was reduced for good behavior.
He was convicted of shooting Leon Klinghoffer, an elderly Jewish man from New York, and ordering him to be dumped in the sea while in his wheelchair. Klinghoffer’s daughters and the Anti-Defamation League condemned Molqui’s early release.

These were Palestinian Islamic terrorists working at the direction of Abul Abbas a/k/a Abu Abbas.
Not that I believe things would be different if Molqui was in American federal prison. As I’ve noted before, I have credible information that another of the Achille Lauro hijackers is living in Dearbornistan, with the full knowledge and complicity of the U.S. government. And I even know his name.
Here is a letter Lisa Klinghoffer sent me on the 20th anniversary of her father’s murder:

Dear Debbie,
Thank you so much! It has been a tough time for me this past week. We went to the cemetery and cried. I have tried to be so brave and stoic over the years and do the work that we do in Leon’s honor and memory. But sometimes, I just have “a moment,” and all families have to go through the same, as we do.
Thanks for remembering. I mean that’s what it’s all about: to remember and to educate so that perhaps one day ……….
Thanks,
Lisa Klinghoffer

I’m sure this news makes things tough, yet again, for the daughter of this innocent, disabled victim of Islamic terrorism aimed at Jews and Americans.

Demjanjuk Saga: Stay on Deportation of Nazi Mass Murderer Lifted, Will ICE Deport Him This Wknd?

By Debbie Schlussel
So, the Federal Court of Appeals looked at the video clever Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents took of Nazi mass murderer John Demjanjuk faking illness and disability, and they lifted the stay on his deportation.
If I were a betting girl, I’d put my money on ICE coming to take the guy, this weekend. Good riddance. Will it finally happen? We’ll see. If they’re smart, it’ll be this weekend, before Demjanjuk’s legal team has a chance to seek another stay and continue their decades of gaming the system.

johndemjanjuknow.jpgswastika.jpg

johndemjanjuk.jpg

Nazi Death Camp Guard John Demjanjuk Then (Third From Left)

johndemjanjuk2.jpg

As I’ve noted repeatedly before, either way, Demjanjuk lived a long life. He’s almost 90 and had children and grandchildren–all on U.S. soil. Most of his 29,000 Jewish victims at Sobibor Nazi death camp never even lived a quarter as long as he did. Many never had kids. Their families died out with them.
Thus far, the only justice Demjanjuk had was a brief stay at ICE detention facilities. He may not rot here. But he’ll rot later . . . in hell.
To the ICE deportation agents who came to Demjanjuk’s house in early April to deport him and were humiliated and criticized on TV because of Demjanjuk’s act, faking illness, you have my utmost sympathy, commiseration, and respect.
Kudos to you for doing this thankless job. You have my thanks.

Weekend Box Office: X-Men’s “Wolverine” Tops Very Lame Offerings; UPDATE: Review of Dumb “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” Added

By Debbie Schlussel
**** UPDATE: Scroll down for review of horrid “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” ****
* “X-Men Origins: Wolverine“: This was better than I expected, but not that great. It was just okay. It’s got fantastic special effects. Very cool set designs and scenery. And for that, it’s worth it. That’s what people go to this kind of superhero movie to see–the FX. And you’ll get your fill here.
It’s just that it was missing that “something special,” that magic that makes a good superhero movie great, like “Iron Man” or the far superior original “X-Men” movie, which I liked a lot. Also, this movie let me down in that it begins with a bang and ends with a mediocre, formulaic whimper.
At the beginning, we learn how Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) discovers his powers as a kid, along with his crazy brother (Liev Schreiber). We see the two of them fighting on the side of the U.S. in a number of wars–the Civil War, World War II, and Vietnam. That was cool. And we learn how Wolverine’s claws and the rest of his body become undestructible. That was cool, too.

xmenwolverine.jpgbattleforterra.jpg

But it just wasn’t all that. And I could have done without the usual anti-military tripe that comes out of Hollywood: that an evil general is turning humans into ultimate weapons and setting Wolverine up and trying to blackmail/extort him. We’ve seen this before. That aspect of the movie is typical and boring. And it’s the sign of a weak script and plot.
But, hey, like I said, the script and plot isn’t the reason we go to see this kind of movie. And for what we do go to see, it’s not bad. It’s got its moments of excitement and the like. But there wasn’t much in the way of suspense or the magic sparks I like in my superhero flicks. And there wasn’t any humor. I laughed like maybe three or four times, where I don’t think it was meant to be funny. I like a certain amount of humor and snark in the guys with special powers. But this movie just takes itself too seriously.
(Also, parents should note that it’s a tad violent for younger kids. Lots of stabbing with the Wolverine claws, and there’s a beheaded wolf. But it should be okay for teens.)
Worth ten bucks and almost two hours, but not spectacular. Just all right.
TWO REAGANS
reagancowboy.jpgreagancowboy.jpg
* “Battle for Terra“: This was probably the worst animated movie I’ve seen in a long time. It’s not just that the animation was stiff and seemed like 20 years behind the times. It’s that the story was ridiculous and boring. And all of the alien characters looked the same. It was in 3D, and the 3D was unremarkable and useless. Did nothing for me.
And then there’s the anti-war theme, that we human Americans want to war and destroy a peaceful people and take their land. Sound familiar? Ditto for the global warming BS.
Terrians are aliens who look like tadpoles or sea monkeys. They all look the same and can float and undulate. (It’s odd, when one of them crashes and gets injured because we know they can fly.) They live on the planet of Terra, which has very cool animated sets, but that’s where the coolness of the animation ends. The rest is anachronistic in terms of today’s animation technology and imagination.
Humans from earth (they’re Americans with standard English names) have destroyed there planet because they “misused the natural resources and the land and destroyed it.” (At this point I was thinking, “Shut up, Al Gore and Sheryl Crow.”) They’ve been relegated to a giant spaceship, which will soon run out of oxygen, so they plan to invade Terra, destroy the Terrians and change their atmosphere to an oxygen-based one.
But the Terrians, after an initial exploratory invasion by the humans, fight back, led by a young Terrian girl, Mala. We’re told, “Even the most peaceful world has a right to fight back and defend itself, when it’s under attack.” Sounds like what Al-Qaeda says to recruit terrorists, while showing them Iraq video clips.
I found it odd that an animated movie meant for kids was not only so boring, but way too complicated and over the top for a younger crowd.
Skip it. If you’re looking for a great movie for kids, try the timeless (non-animated) classic, “My Side of the Mountain,” instead. It’s from 1969, and despite the 40-year lag, it’s far more advanced for kids than this baloney.
TWO MARXES
karlmarxmovies.jpgkarlmarxmovies.jpg
lymelife.jpgghostsofgirlfriendspast.jpg

* “Lymelife“: In case we didn’t see enough attacks on American life in the suburbs and capitalism–with movies like “Revolutionary Road” (read my review)–this boring, pointless movie, starring Alec Baldwin (need I say more) will give you more than you could ask for. The movie poster features this horrid film’s message: “The American Dream Sucks.” Um, no, it doesn’t. Just in Hollywood, where they want us to feel bad and despise America.
Baldwin plays a successful Long Island builder bent on building a bigger house. His wife is happy in their modest middle class home and life back in Queens. In the meantime, Baldwin is cheating on his wife with his female employee, whose husband (Timothy Hutton) is an unemployed man afflicted by Lyme disease. Baldwin’s son is friends with and has a crush on Hutton’s daughter. Everyone is miserable. Then end.
A complete waste of time. Save two hours of your life and $10 and avoid like the plague. Utter crap.
FOUR MARXES
karlmarxmovies.jpgkarlmarxmovies.jpgkarlmarxmovies.jpgkarlmarxmovies.jpg
**** UPDATE–“Ghosts of Girlfriends Past: Possibly the dumbest, most annoying, most cheesy, dopey, and predictable movie ever. It was torture sitting through this absolutely awful chick flick starring the utterly untalented Matthew McConaughey and almost as untalented Jennifer Garner. If I wasn’t reviewing it, I’d have walked out in the middle (or probably toward the beginning). Painful. If we were still allowed to “torture” terrorists, this would be at the top of my list to make ’em sit through over and over. This was supposed to be a comedy, and I didn’t laugh once. But I did fall asleep (yaaaaawn).
McConaughey plays a playboy and a photographer who is single, alone, and a proud womanizer. He was raised this way by his late uncle Wayne (Michael Douglas). Now, he’s at his uncle’s house for his brother’s wedding, where he’s trying to bed everything in sight and finds his past girlfriend, Garner, whom he left because he’s a commitment-phobe. Soon, he’s visited by ghosts of his uncle and others from his life, warning him not to be a womanizer or he’ll die old and alone and ruin everything.
The only thing good about this movie was Michael Douglas as the womanizing uncle, and he makes only a few brief appearances.
Guys, don’t let your wife or girlfriend drag you to this tripe. Absolutely awful. Avoid at all cost.

No Kidding: Brush-cutted Kelly McGillis Confirms She’s a Lesbian

By Debbie Schlussel
Actress Kelly McGillis–who stopped looking like a woman after her star turn in “Top Gun,” a few decades ago–reveals something everyone in the world (except her two husbands) already knew.

Kelly McGillis, best known for playing teacher to Tom Cruise in “Top Gun,” has confirmed long-held rumors that she’s a lesbian, according to an interview on the website shewired.
“I’m done with the man thing,” says McGillis, 51, who is twice married and twice divorced and has two teenage daughters. “I did that, I need to move on in life. It’s a part of being true to yourself. That’s been a challenge for me.”

Gee, after two decades plus of the butch-look, brush-cuts, thousands of pantsuits, and “sensible shoes” (or is that “comfortable shoes”?), who knew? She probably thinks that outing herself will help her faded career. And, knowing Hollywood, it probably will.

Michelle Hussein Obama, “Role Model,” Settin’ an Example on “Sacrifice” (After Obama Dumps on Hedge Funds Demanding “Sacrifice”)

By Debbie Schlussel
Yesterday, President Barack Obama–discussing the Chrysler bankruptcy–chastised investment firms and hedge funds that wouldn’t just throw in the towel and screw their investors. “Everyone needs to sacrifice,” he told us.
But as he spoke those words–words he keeps saying to everyone but his mirror–all I could hear was, “Sacrifice as I say, NOT as I do.”
Take wifey, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Hussein Obama Idi Amin Dada.
I mean, she’s really takin’ this “sacrifice” thing to heart . . . with her tacky Bozo the Clown shoes. And her White House spokespeople aren’t too keen on talking about it, perhaps because of how much they cost: $540. Yup, that’s “sacrifice.” Mmmm-hmmm.

lanvinsneakers.jpgmichelleobamaclownshoes.jpg

Michelle Hussein Obama “Sacrifices” in $540 Clown Shoes

Michelle Obama has taken casual to a haute new level.
While volunteering Wednesday at a D.C. food bank, the First Lady sported her usual J.Crew cardigan, a pair of utilitarian capri pants and, on her feet, a sneaky splurge: trainers that go for $540.
That’s right: These sneakers – suede, with grosgrain ribbon laces and metallic pink toe caps – are made by French design house Lanvin, one of fashion’s hottest labels. They come in denim and satin versions, and have been a brisk seller all spring.
They’re out of stock at posh Meatpacking District boutique Jeffrey, and Barneys New York boasts a limited selection of the sneaks, which are a cult favorite among fashionistas.
It’s likely Michelle got hers through Ikram, the Chicago retailer that often outfits her.
“They’re shoes,” the First Lady’s reps sniffed when curious reporters inquired about the fancy footwear.

Barf. When his wife starts wearing sneakers that cost less than $200, like the rest of America, then her husband can lecture investment houses about “sacrifice” and screwing their clients out of their investment money.
Until then, remember Mrs. Hussein Obama’s 540 buck clown shoes whenever he tells you you need to “sacrifice.” (And remember that she dresses like an extra from “Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo,” whenever you hear about what great style and taste she has.)
As reader Duane notes:

More of the “let them eat cake” mentality of Obama administration. What better way to show the masses that you can identify with them, than wearing shoes that cost as much as a house or car payment for many of them?

To sum up, the Obama’s monumental sacrifices:
* $10,000-plus tricked-out swing set for the kiddies;
* $55,000-plus tuition for the kiddies at a school, where they dine on cheese and crackers and roasted Atlantic salmon;
* $540 sneakers.
And yet, the magazines and newspapers keep telling us they are sooooo “down to earth.”
“Down to earth”? Puh-leeze. This elitist couple ain’t even in the same galaxy.
***
Shhhh. Nobody tell Michelle Hussein Obama that Lanvin (and the clown shoes) is designed by Elber Albaz, the North African-born Israeli Jew, whose family had to flee for Israel, when all the Jews were kicked out and their homes and land were stolen by the Arabs. This “evil Zionist” designer even served in the Israeli Army. Horror of horrors.

Thuper!: Na-Na-Na-Na, Na-Na-Na-Na, Hey, Hey . . .

By Debbie Schlussel
. . . Good-Bye. Dude was the most unremarkable, most non-noteworthy Supreme on the Court. The only thing “noteworthy” about him was what a fraud he was and what an utter liberal turncoat he turned out to be. Totally tricked Bush the Pop and the Repubs into shilling for him. He was wrong on EVERYTHING. Wrong on affirmative action preferences for women and minorities, wrong on Gitmo, wrong on Habeas Corpus for Gitmo detainees (voting to allow terrorists with absolutely no connection to the U.S. to challenge their detentions in court), wrong on Kelo (voting to allow the Connecticut town to take Suzette Kelo’s house for a condo development), wrong on state’s rights issues (with regard to abortion and other matters), wrong on Pretty. Much. Everything. The Obama replacement for him will be no change on the court. That’s the pathetic part, given he was picked by Bush Daddy.
