Uh-Oh: Bad Economy, Lay-Offs May Scuttle Long Procrastinated ICE Show Raids

By Debbie Schlussel
The story of America’s largest chicken company, Pilgrim’s Pride, is illustrative of how America–and the Bush Administration–are seriously inept in immigration enforcement, deliberately so.
As I’ve noted before, the joke on the public is that they believe raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are surprises to employers who are subject to the show raids. But, in fact, they’re no surprise to anyone but the public. The companies know and they’re in constant communication with ICE officials negotiating away the details of the “raids.”
That’s just one of the reasons the raids are a joke. One of those jokes is the long-planned series of raids on Pilgrim’s Pride chicken processing plants. The raids have been in the planning stages for several years. I kid you not. They spent several years to “plan” this farce of entering a company’s plants, arresting a few hundred people, and then releasing more than half into the great abyss. And the raids still haven’t happened.

pilgrimspride2.jpgjuliemyersdietcoke.jpg

Julie Myers Diet Coke by David Lunde/Lundesigns

As I told you, last year, Pilgrim’s Pride is based in Texas, and when Texas’ U.S. Senator John Cornyn (Republican)–who pretends to be tough on illegal aliens and immigration, but really isn’t–learned of the raids, he told The ICE Princess, Julie L. Myers, that he would vote for and actively support her confirmation in exchange for reducing the upcoming–but never happening–raids on Pilgrim’s Pride to administrative arrests, rather than a criminal operation and reducing the number of arrests, etc. She agreed.
Oh, and Cornyn has been in constant communication with his homestate illegal alien harboring corporation about all of this. Does your Senator tip you off about details of a law enforcement investigation into your behavior? Does the law enforcement unit negotiate down with you the serious nature of the investigation?
And yet, in a sign of how stuck-in-a-rut and ineffective ICE is, the raids are still in the planning stages and haven’t yet happened. Well, now the raids on Pilgrim’s Pride will have to be planned all over again. Why?
ICE agents are extremely frustrated by this and so many other episodes of high quality Keystone Koppery atop ICE.
Yesterday, Pilgrim’s Pride announced that it would ax 1,100 jobs and immediately close seven U.S. facilities. It’s believed a number of those facilities and illegal alien employees were to be targets of the ICE raids on the company. Now, they’re going to be gone.
And ICE will have to start its bureaucratic, waste-of-time planning of Pilgrim’s Pride raids all over again.
Can you imagine a local police force taking this much time and engaging in this much procrastination to raid a armed robbery operation, a drug ring, or a serial killer?
We’d never arrest any lawbreakers, there would be no justice, and criminals would run the asylum.
Which is essentially what is happening with illegal aliens in America.
By the way, I hear ICE is also still in the planning stages of raids on TWA, Pan Am, Montgomery Ward, MCI, Kresge, Atari, and BetaMax factories.

Reaching Big-Time: Alan Dershowitz Claims Spitzer Was “Entrapped”

By Debbie Schlussel
The guy who was on the O.J. “dream team,” who was on Bill Clinton’s impeachment legal defense team, who lost cases representing Leona Helmsley, Mike Tyson, etc.–the man who told me on national television on ABC’s “Politically Incorrect” that I’m not a lawyer (it was his last refuge because Joan Rivers and I were kicking his butt about his statements regarding O.J. and Bill Clinton)–that same guy is now making the really absurd claim that ex-New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer a/k/a “Client-9” was “entrapped.”
Read the “Entrapment of Eliot” and laugh at the Comedy of Alan.
Nice try, Dershowitz, but no cigar. Nobody forced Spitzer to spend at least $80,000 on hookers. No-one forced him to contact call girl outfits and schedule “encounters” with “Kristen”. He did that all on his own. There’s nothing even close to entrapment here.
Yup, Spitzer has himself a new professional ho’. And his name ain’t “Kristen.” Don’t be surprised if Dersh suddenly joins the legal defense team of Client-9.

EXCLUSIVE: Minneapolis Ciggie Smugglers Are HAMASniks; Over $2.5 Mill in MN Taxes Likely Went to HAMAS Operations

By Debbie Schlussel
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE (And Added Links) ****
Last week, I told you about members of the Al-Esawi and Wazwaz families who were convicted of cigarette smuggling and tax fraud of over $2.5 million in Minnesota. (One of them used the alias, “Anthony Stallone.”) Like Hezbo convicts before them, they smuggled ciggies into the Minneapolis area that they bought in another state with little or no cigarette taxes. Then, they pocketed the difference–the exorbitant cigarette taxes that were supposed to go to the State of Minnesota.
As usual, the article in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune did not mention that these men were Muslims or Arabs or tied to terrorism. But I figured they were, and when I wrote about this, I asked which terrorist group they were doing this for–Hezbollah or HAMAS? Well, I got my answer.

adelsalem.jpgcigarettes.jpghamaslogo.jpg

Adel Wazwaz a/k/a Adel Salem:

HAMAS Poet Has Cigarette Smuggling Family in Minnesota
My intelligence sources in the region inform me that the Al-Esawi and Wazwaz families are related by marriage and made up of Palestinians active at some of the highest levels of HAMAS, some of whom moved to Minnesota. One of them is even a Palestinian terrorist “poet,” Adel Wazwaz a/k/a Adel Salem. He appears to be the same Adel Salem who was convicted in the cigarette tax fraud. And for certain, his close relatives were the ones I wrote about who were indicted, convicted, and sentenced, sadly to only about two years (which means they’ll do far less. Here’s what one of my sources told me about Adel Wazwaz/Salem:

Adel Mohammad Wazwaz, a poet who wrote a lot of poetry and books in support of the Palestinian cause lives in Minnesota. Adel Wazwaz, whose full name is Adel Mohammad Abd Al-Ruhman Ali Hasan Salem Wazwaz, also sometimes goes by the name Adel Salem. I am sure the money from the cigarette scam went to support terror groups like HAMAS and offshoots of it.
Wazwaz was in Jerusalem and came to the U.S. with his parents in 1976. He studied here and was traveling back and forth to Jerusalem. He was arrested twice by the IDF in 1985 and served 29 months in Beer Sheva and Nafha prisons for his support and activities with the Palestinian terror groups. After his release and in 1987, he was put under house arrest for six months on the condition to report daily to a police station. His books and poetry, some of which he wrote in prison, are great inspiration for the Palestinian terrorists. He published some books in Beirut and his writing is published in Palestinian papers on the net. He came back to the U.S. permanently in 1989.

How the heck does that happen? Get out of Israeli prison after terrorist activity, get welcomed to the U.S. The deafness, dumbness, and blindness of our country continues to be jaw-dropping.

The Al-Esawi family is originally from what they call “Palestine,” but are spread throughout the Arab world with the surname Wazwaz.
The Wazwaz family lives in what they call “the West Bank,” in the Hebron/Jerusalem area/Khorbet Kelkas which is east of the Drom Har settlement, ie., in the area of Judea and Samaria.

Yup, and they’ve long since invaded our country. Splendid.
**** UPDATE, 03/13/08: Check out Adel Salem’s biography (in Arabic). He wrote a book in 2006, called, “For the Eyes of the Green Card.” Hello . . . ? It was published in Beirut.
Also, check out this aerial map of houses of the Wazwaz family in Hebron (they’re calling it “Al Khalil”), not far from the Palestinian Polytechnic University, a/k/a “HAMAS U”–a hotbed of HAMAS members, activity, and recruitment.

Getting Closer to Long-Term Domination Goal: 2nd Muslim Elected to Congress

By Debbie Schlussel
As of yesterday, there are now two Muslims serving in the U.S. Congress. If you think anyone decrying this is bigoted or “phobic,” ask yourself at what threshold number you would start to be uncomfortable. Will it take 200 Muslim Members of Congress? 435 plus delegates? Does it bother you that both men, Keith Ellison and, now, Andre Carson, are staunchly supported by HAMAS-front group CAIR? Does it not bother you that neither will specifically denounce HAMAS, Hezbollah, and/or CAIR, which supports those groups? If not, will anything bother you?

Indiana voters on Tuesday elected a Muslim to Congress, only the second of that faith chosen in U.S. history. [DS: “only”?]
Andre Carson, grandson of the late Democrat Rep. Julia Carson, was elected to serve the balance of her term in the U.S. House of Representatives in a special election.

andrecarson.jpgislamiccrescent.jpg

She died in December 2007, after serving 11 years in the heavily Democratic district.
The younger Carson, 33, a member of the Indianapolis City Council who converted to Islam about a decade ago, will serve out the remainder of his grandmother’s term through calendar 2008. He beat Republican Jon Elrod and a third party candidate with 52 percent of the vote to 44 percent for Elrod.
The first and only other Muslim member of the U.S. Congress is Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, also a Democrat, who is in his first term.
Carson will face a strong challenge against other contenders in a May primary which will determine who runs in November for the next full two-year term in the district which covers most of the city of Indianapolis.
His Democratic opponents then are expected to be two state legislators — Carolene Mays, an Indianapolis newspaper publisher, and David Orentlicher, a lawyer and doctor who is a professor of law and medical ethics at Indiana University School of Law and Indiana University Medical Center.
Carson’s faith had not been an issue in the special election.

And that’s the problem. It should be an issue. Just as it would be an issue if two residents of David Koresh’s compound were Members of Congress or two pre-Kool-Aid ingestion residents of Jonestown.
No surprise, CAIR–which openly stated it wants an Islamic United States, with the Koran as our Constitution–is gloating. Does that bother you? It should.
Oh, and–shocker–this was in CAIR’s “gloatation” over Carson’s election:

The Washington-based Islamic civil rights and advocacy group recently led a four-week effort that produced more than 17,000 constituent letters on the issue of Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Translation in English: We’re mad Israel won’t help supply HAMAS so that it can finally push the Jews into the sea, once and for all.
Does it not concern you that now two more people–openly dedicated to this view–are Members of Congress and in CAIR’s back pocket . . . and bowing down on its prayer mat?
Remember, at one time there were zero Republicans in Congress, and in a century–the way things are going–there may be zero again. At the same time, there are now two Muslims in Congress today after there were zero two years ago. And in a century–since we’re doing nothing about it–there maybe 300, or even 435.

Poetic Justice, Palestinian Terrorist Style

By Debbie Schlussel
This story is too good to skip. I got a good laugh out of it and think that, perhaps, I should nominate this dude for the Al-Darwin Awards:

EL-ARISH, Egypt – An underground tunnel collapsed early Wednesday near Egypt’s border with the Gaza Strip, burying a Palestinian smuggler alive, a security official said.
Mohammed el-Bashiti and five others had nearly finished expanding the tunnel from Gaza into Egypt when the ceiling gave way, said the official, who spoke on customary condition of anonymity.
The nearly 2,000-foot-long tunnel, located about 30 feet below ground, was an old one that the smugglers were attempting to renovate.

gazatunnel.jpgdoh.jpg

Gaza Tunnel Collapses on Al-Darwin Award Nominee

El-Bashiti precipitated the collapse of the tunnel’s sandy ceiling when he pushed a pole through to the surface in an effort to show his accomplices where the reconstructed tunnel would emerge to the surface, the official said. The five other smugglers managed to escape. [DS: Damn. Reminds me of all those lawyer jokes, where one dead lawyer is only a start.]
Palestinian smugglers use tunnels to bring weapons and contraband goods into Gaza from Egypt. Israel says anti-tank missiles, tons of explosives and thousands of rifles have reached militants in Gaza through the tunnels.

So sad, too bad. I wonder if stupidity like this qualifies for martyrdom. Maybe you get only get 36 dark-eyed virgins for that.
Rot In Hell, Habibi [my dear]. Rot in Hell.

The “Chiquita Mike” Chertoff Connection: Relatives of Five Slain Missionaries Sue U.S. Company for Financing Terrorists

By Debbie Schlussel
Families of five U.S. missionaries slain by Colombian terrorists sued Chiquita Brands International, Inc., accusing the company of secretly financing terrorist group FARC.
But Chiquita’s financing of terrorist groups is not just an accusation. It’s something Chiquita admitted . . . to Michael “Serpenthead” Chertoff, as I noted last year. “Serpenthead” a/k/a “Chiquita Mike” was in 2001, head of the Justice Department’s criminal division. And he deliberately looked the other way.
He met with his cronies, who were then running Chiquita and who told him of the continuing payments. And, even though the group was on the State Department terrorist list, he did nothing about it, deliberately ignoring the situation. The payments, with Serpenthead/Chiquita Mike’s knowledge, continued for about another year.

chertoffserpenthead.jpgchiquitabanana.jpg

mazeltovfonzie.jpgjumptheshark.jpg

Given that, it’s a disgrace that the controversy lasted but a day and that this man who allowed terrorism financing and pay-offs to continue heads the Department of “Homeland Security.” Hello . . . ? Oh, and–surprise! surprise!–the Justice Department, last year, decided not to criminally prosecute the Chiquita execs for paying off terrorists because they’d call Serpenthead to the stand, and it would be embarrassing. Yup, that’s “justice”.
It’s too bad this suit was only filed now. That means that on a judicial timetable, the case will not go to trial until after President Obama takes office, at which time Chertoff will be gone from DHS. It would have been nice to see the relatives of those killed by the terrorists Chertoff’s buds paid off put Serpenthead on the stand while he still pretended to be running America’s security.
But, mark my word, this case will be embarrassing for Chertoff, as it should be. That this man, who allowed American executives to pay protection money to murderous thugs, heads any law enforcement agency is a disgrace.
And it makes you wonder which other terrorist groups got and still get pay-offs with the Serpentheads tacit approval. Hezbollah? HAMAS? Islamic Jihad? Don’t put it past him.
He should be behind bars. I would say he’s their “bitch.”
But I’ll be nicer about it. He’s their “chiquita.”
*** Just a reminder/flashback. Here are a couple of excepts from major newspapers on Chertoff’s acquiescence to pay-offs to terrorists. From the Wall Street Journal:

On April 24 [,2003], [Chiquita head] Mr. [Roderick] Hills . . . went to the Justice Department with Messrs. Olson and Urgenson and Ms. Harris to report the payments. Among those attending was Mr. Hills’ longtime acquaintance Michael Chertoff, then in charge of the Justice Department’s criminal division [DS: he was Assistant U.S. Attorney General] and now chief of the Homeland Security Department. Mr. Hills and Mr. Chertoff were colleagues at the law firm of Latham & Watkins LLP in the early 1980s, when Mr. Hills already had been a White House counsel and SEC chair and Mr. Chertoff was still a junior attorney. . . .
Mr. Hills and Mr. Olson left the meeting confident that Mr. Chertoff had deferred a decision about whether payments [DS: TO A TERRORIST GROUP!] could continue, according to lawyers familiar with the case. Ten additional payments were made between May and September totaling about $134,000, according to court filings. . . .
Mr. Taxay [a Justice Dept. attorney on the case] declined to comment, as did Mr. Chertoff through a spokesman. . . .
Chiquita made half a dozen more payments totaling more than $145,000 through February 2004.

From the Washington Post:

On April 24, 2003, a board member of Chiquita International Brands disclosed to a top official at the Justice Department that the king of the banana trade was evidently breaking the nation’s anti-terrorism laws.
Roderick M. Hills, who had sought the meeting with former law firm colleague Michael Chertoff, explained that Chiquita was paying “protection money” to a Colombian paramilitary group on the U.S. government’s list of terrorist organizations. Hills said he knew that such payments were illegal, according to sources and court records, but said that he needed Chertoff’s advice. . . .
Chertoff, then assistant attorney general and now secretary of homeland security, affirmed that the payments were illegal but said to wait for more feedback, according to five sources familiar with the meeting.
Justice officials have acknowledged in court papers that an official at the meeting said they understood Chiquita’s situation was “complicated,” and three of the sources identified that official as Chertoff. They said he promised to get back to the company after conferring with national security advisers and the State Department about the larger ramifications for U.S. interests. . . .
Sources close to Chiquita say that Chertoff never did get back to the company or its lawyers.. . . And Chiquita kept making payments for nearly another year. . . . Chiquita’s executives left the meeting convinced that the government had not clearly demanded that the payments stop.

D’oh!: Client-9 Was Hillary Superdelegate; Advocates of “Working Women”

By Debbie Schlussel
Well, Hillary Rodham Cankles Clinton can probably cross one of her “sure bet” superdelegates off the list.
Turns out that Client Nine, Eliot Spitzer, was one of her superdelegates. Assuming he’s out of office and has stepped down from all honorary Democratic duties–including being a superdelegate, he’s out of the picture for her. But, the way things are going, perhaps that’s a big assumption.
Here are the details:

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton will be down one superdelegate. The scandal-tainted governor and his Lt. Gov. David Paterson currently are two of the roughly 800 superdelegates who will also cast ballots at the August nominating convention. Both are public backers of Clinton.

hillaryeliotspitzer.jpghooker.jpg

Cankles, Client-9: Advocates of “Working Women”

If Spitzer resigns [DS: which he just did], New York succession laws provide for Paterson to assume the role of governor until the term expires in 2010. Here’s the rub: succession law also provides for the president of the state senate to become lieutenant governor. That man is Joseph Bruno, a Republican and political enemy of Spitzer.
It is safe to say that Bruno will not be casting a ballot at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
The Democratic National Committee today confirmed that New York would lose Spitzer’s superdelegate slot. . . .
As for Clinton, she can use all the superdelegates she can get. With rival Sen. Barack Obama on track to maintain his lead in pledged delegates – those awarded based on the state’s nominating contests – the nomination fight may ultimately be decided by the votes cast by the party leaders and elected officials that make up the superdelegate count. . . .
Currently, the combined delegate count gives Obama a 1,579-1,473 lead over Clinton. Obama’s campaign announced the addition of two superdelegates on Monday: DNC member Joyce Brayboy of North Carolina and DNC member Everett Sanders of Mississippi.

Perhaps “Kristin” can replace Client-9 as a superdelegate. After all, she is apparently a “working woman,” just like Cankles claims to be in recent ads. I’m told that most of the people at that convention (and, sadly, many at the GOP National Convention, too) perform the same job as Ms. “Kristin,” anyway.
On a related note, here are a couple of video tributes–ironically by the same singing sensation–to former Governor Eliot Spitzer’s women in the work force (the first one is part of my workout music–it reminds me of many of the less-thans I write about on this site and how easily they sell out our country for a dime; myt apologies for the racial makeup of the women in the vid, but it was the only one with the studio version of the song):

Videos of the Day: Feel Old? James Taylor Turns 60

By Debbie Schlussel
Everyone gets old. And the talented James Taylor turns 60, today. I’m hardly the biggest fan of James Taylor, but this classic hit of his is one of my favorite songs, even if it is a sad song about a former girlfriend of his who died. Trite but true: Life is short. First the studio version, then the live, acoustic version–JT is one of the few who is truly a pleasure to hear “unplugged”. And–even though his politics are anathema to me–he was very hot, back in the day:

Nauseating to the Nth: Condi Clueless Gives Award to Hezbollah Official

By Debbie Schlussel
Condoleeza Rice a/k/a “Condi Clueless” is just one of the many reasons I could not bring myself to vote for Bush twice (I threw away my vote and voted Libertarian in 2004).
Our friend, the great journalist and photographer Sultan Knish, has the exclusive details on yet another one of this execrable woman’s disgusting “accomplishments”–giving an award to a Hezbollah official Nibal Thawabteh.
The 300-plus U.S. Marines and officials, William Buckley, Robert Dean Stethem, and the thousands of other victims of Hezbollah are turning over in their graves.
Read it and scream. Simply sickening. Bolshoya Spasiba [“Big Thanks” in Russian] to reader Misha for the tip.

Obama’s Endorsement of Anti-Semitic Bigot May Backfire in Pennsylvania

By Debbie Schlussel
I almost never agree with USA Today columnist DeWayne Wickham. Almost never. But this is one of those times where his column sheds some interesting light on Barack Hussein Obama, even if it wasn’t in the way he intended.
Apparently, Obama went out of his way to endorse a pan-Islamist, anti-Semitic, anti-Israel bigot and one of the most radical Members of Congress–Congressman Chaka Fattah (that his last name is the same as one of the manifestations of the PLO isn’t exactly a coincidence)– in the Democratic Primary for Mayor of Philadelphia, last year. Fattah, for example, was one of 62 Democrats voting against a House resolution in favor of Israel’s right to defend itself against Palestinian terrorism and also build a border fence to keep terrorists out.

dewaynewickham.jpg

barackobama.jpgchakafattah.jpg

DeWayne Wickham Exposes B Hussein O’s Misstep on Fattah

But Obama’s endorsement of Fattah was a political miscalculation that is now biting him in the rear end in Pennsylvania:

Early in the 2007 mayoral campaign, Nutter was thought to be a long shot candidate in the five-man race for the Democratic Party’s nomination. But shortly before the primary, Nutter pulled ahead in the polls, overtaking his four opponents, including U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah, who was once the favorite.
Fattah was a close ally of John Street, the outgoing mayor whose administration was plagued by allegations of corruption and mismanagement. A federal corruption probe resulted in 12 indictments and the conviction of a former city treasurer. Though federal investigators were caught bugging Street’s City Hall office, no charges were ever brought against the mayor. Fattah compared the investigation of Street to a “crucifixion.”
Despite all this, Obama, who launched his presidential campaign in May 2007, quickly threw his support behind Fattah in the primary. Obama then sent an e-mail to Fattah’s supporters urging them to make financial contributions to the congressman’s flagging mayoral campaign, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Despite that appeal, Nutter finished first in the primary and went on to win in the November general election. The following month, Nutter endorsed Clinton.
“I met with both Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama last year, and I made my judgment based on their experience and policy ideas. I’m going to work very hard (to help her win the Pennsylvania primary). I’m not conceding any section of the city or any constituency” to Obama, Nutter told me. . . .
There seems to be little friendship between Philadelphia’s mayor and Obama, who took time in the midst of his busy presidential campaign to try to block Nutter’s path to City Hall.
It won’t be easy for Nutter to make good on his endorsement of Clinton. If what happened in other primaries is any indication, the vast majority of Philadelphia’s blacks – who make up nearly 46% of the city’s 1.4 million residents – will vote for Obama.
But if Nutter, the man in whom Philadelphians invested their hope for a better future, can deliver 20%-25% of the black voters in Pennsylvania’s largest city to Clinton, he might succeed where Obama failed in trying to influence the outcome of an important election in the Keystone State.

If you’re not already convinced of Obama’s pan-Islamist sentiments, his endorsement of Fattah–one of the most anti-Israel, extremist Members of Congress–should be a big hint.
