Detroit Newsistan: Happy 4th of July From Iran/Hezbollah’s American Agent; Compares Our Troops to Palestinians

By

Lest we forget that The Detroit Newsistan–one of Detroit’s two major newspapers–is Islamist-occupied territory, the Newsistan reminds us. In its pre-4th of July edition, and his feminine assistant Richard Burr give us a summer advice column by , who worked for the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini before he worked for them.

Hezbollah Spiritual Leader Sheikh Mohammed Fadlallah & Imam Mohammed Ali Elahi
Imam Mohammed Ali Elahi & Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini
I’ve –an accolyte of Hezbollah spiritual leader Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah–and how the Newsistan and the feds pander to this man whose mosque was apparently financed by Hezbollah’s chief American financier, . But today, Imam Elahi is not counseling the “fugitive” Chahine (the feds allowed him to flee the country). Nope he’s counseling us on how to behave. Uh, sorry, but we don’t need advice from a terrorism conduit and the agent of a terrorist state to give us etiquette lessons.

Writes Elahi in the Newsistan:

Imam Ali said, “He whose two days are alike is a sure loser!” Yes, that’s the ticket.

A homicide bomber spends one day planning the building of his explosive and the next day planning how to infiltrate Glasgow International Airport or Tel Aviv’s Mike’s Bar. No loser is he. But you silly Americans, Jews, Westerners, Christians spend five or more days a week working at the same job, supporting your families, and trying to live in peace. You losers! Haha on you. Your silly Fourth of July, the same every year . . . except when our Hecham Mohammed Hedayet made a little “fireworks” at the LAX El-Al counter. You losers.
Then there’s this gem:

In the last four years since the invasion of Iraq, our troops have had no summer vacation. No only our soldiers but also millions of innocent Iraqis, Lebanese, Palestinians, Afghanis and others are victims of carelessness and injustice of our political leaders.

In case you wondered, he’s not talking about their political leaders, like Hezbollah, HAMAS, and the assorted other terrorists groups these “innocent . . . victims” have chosen and staunchly support. Nope. He’s talking about American political leaders, the ones who pander to him and who’ve allowed this Iranian agent to remain on U.S. soil.

Uh, here’s a clue, Imam Elahi. Our soldiers are NOT like the Palestinians who throw each other off of buildings and kill each other at random, who cheer on homicide bombings on innocent non-Muslims. Our soldiers are NOT like the Lebanese who support your precious, cowardly Hezbollah who blew up 300 of our soldiers and other American civilians while they slept and almost a hundred others in a Buenos Aires Jewish Community Center and an Israeli Embassy there, who whose only crime was he wouldn’t denounce America, and who are building explosives to blow up our troops in Iraq. Our soldiers are NOT like the Iraqis who kill each other every day and who won’t let Christians live in peace in that country.

So quit comparing two things that are as alike as apples and car bombs.
If only the spineless “editors” at the Newsistan would finally get some cojones and stop allowing you on the kitty litter liner they “edit”. Maybe they will in the afterlife . . . if they actually earn one.

Oh, and Happy Fourth of July, America’s Mr. Hezbollah. The Fourth is not just a day to celebrate the past years of this country, but the future defeat of its enemies . . . including your Islamist buddies.

I don’t have any advice for you in return, except to ask: Do you pray to Allah five times a day, every single day? Even two days in a row? Do you preach jihad and defend Hezbollah every day? Two days in a row? Bingo. Apparently, according to Imam Ali’s logic, that means you’re a loser.

My only advice is strictly for my fellow Americans:

Wake up and smell the jihad.

The Hypocritical Summer of Ted Nugent

By

**** UPDATE More Important Info on Ted Nugent: ****

Am I the only one who’s sick and tired of the hypocritical ventings and lecturings of Ted Nugent? Am I the only one who sees through this rocker-with-no-clothing? Are conservatives so desperate for a D-list celebrity that they will overlook all to embrace Ted Nugent? Apparently so.
Today’s Wall Street Journal features an op-ed piece by Nugent, who likes to refer to himself as “Uncle Ted.” The piece, “The Summer of Drugs,” is three columns of Nugent bloviation and braggadocio about how he never did drugs on the rock scene in the ’60s and ’70s (a point a lot of bigger name rockers who toured with him dispute) and what a great moral guy he is because he was not like the rest of the ’60s generation.

Ted Nugent: Portrait of a Hypocrite

All fiction, since Nugent–a Draft Dodger–divorced his wife, used his rock star money to gain sole custody of the kids, lived with a teen groupie who raised the kids (he was too busy touring), cheated on his second wife, Shemane, and had a kid outside of wedlock with Karen Gutowski of New Hampshire, with whom he fought against paying child support for years.

**** UPDATE, 02/17/09: That’s in addition to the two other kids Ted Nugent had out of wedlock with two other different women by the time he turned 21. That’s right. Ted Nugent fathered SEVEN kids with FIVE different women, to which only two of whom he was married. ****

It’s hilarious to read “Uncle Ted” Nugent moralizing to us in the Journal, including these passages, since he’s not exactly the ideal utterer of them:

Turned off by the work ethic and productive American Dream values of their parents, hippies instead opted for a cowardly, irresponsible lifestyle of random sex, life-destroying drugs and mostly soulless rock music that flourished in San Francisco. . . .
A quick study of social statistics before and after the 1960s is quite telling. The rising rates of divorce, high school drop outs, drug use, abortion, sexual diseases and crime, not to mention the exponential expansion of government and taxes, is dramatic. The “if it feels good, do it” lifestyle born of the 1960s has proved to be destructive and deadly.

I agree with all of these things, but can’t hear them coming from Ted Nugent. From him it sounds more like “The Nudge,” instead of another one of his favorite self-monikers, “The Nuge.” It’s too much Nugent saying, “Do as I say, not as I do,” especially since his battle to avoid paying for his illegitimate kid was just two years ago. (Everyone falls for his phony act, though, since Nugent was once named “Father of the Year,” by some ignorant group.)
And here’s how he got out of serving in Vietnam, where many of his fans died fighting. From a July 15, 1990 Detroit Free Press Sunday Magazine profile:

And he is equally proud that the Michigan Legislature this year proclaimed him a “wholesome, traditional” man of “honesty, integrity, loyalty and patriotism.”

But Nugent wanted no part of Vietnam. He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days, he ingested nothing but Vienna sausages and Pepsi; and a week before his physical, he stopped using bathrooms altogether, virtually living inside pants caked with his own excrement, stained by his urine.

That spectacle won Nugent a deferment, he says, although the Free Press was unable to verify his draft status.
“The men who went should be applauded, but if I would have gone over there, I’d have been killed, or I’d have killed all the hippies in the foxholes . . . I would have killed everybody.” [DS: In other words, let them do the job for me, while I rock and lounge over here in safety. Whatever, Ted.]

WITH HIS WORRIES ABOUT THE draft out of the way — “I never heard from them again” — Nugent focused on his band.

And don’t forget this from the New York Post in 2004:

Courtney Love phoned into The Howard Stern Show on Monday (March 22) before eventually coming into the studio where she made the shocking allegation that one of the first times she had oral sex was with Ted Nugent. She said she was young and she didn’t want to say exactly how old she was, but eventually confessed she was 12-year-old – which would have made Nugent approximately 28 years old at the time. The New York Post attempted to contact Nugent for a response but was unsuccessful. Moderators at Nugent’s official forum deleted the only thread asking about the topic as evidenced by the forum’s search giving a file not found error for the matched thread. She added it was a long time ago and she didn’t even have breasts yet.

Ted Nugent also likes to call himself “the Motor City Madman” (he has a lot of bloated, self-important nicknames). But Ted Nugent moralizing to the rest of America as if he’s the opponent–instead of the embodiment–of ’60s morality doesn’t have a thing to do with the Motor City. It’s just plain Mad.

(Given all this, it’s notable that likes him so much and features him so much on his cable and radio show. Well, at least, I know this is one thing I’ve written that Vannity won’t be plagiarizing anytime soon.)

Update on the Medical Doctors & Terrorism: Our Homegrown Version

By
Regarding —-a insightful friend in the know reminds me of a few Muslim doctors with ties to terrorism, about whom I’ve written in the past but forgot on my list:

The quotation from the Koran you cited in your most recent posting [DS: it’s part of the Muslim Doctors’ Oath] was also cited by Osama Bin Laden as justification for jihad. When he cited it he considered American presence in Saudi Arabia as “mischief in the land.” [DS: And I’ve heard Muslims cite it against Jews and Christians at many Muslim events and charity fundraisers I’ve attended undercover.]

Muslims demand excellence at being an obedient Muslim, everything else is secondary. They often do well in medical school as far as marks are concerned because they concentrate on book learning and have, other than their faith, very few diversions.
Please be reminded of another group of doctors – those who work with KinderUSA (son of the Holy Land Foundation), specifically of Laila Al Marayati and Riad Abdelkarim. The latter went to Palestine in May or so of 2002 with Dr. Dallel Mohammed (not an MD). They took monies collected at an April 2002 fundraiser and were caught by Israeli security handing over the funds to a Hamas operative. They were detained in an Israeli jail, and a large orgy of publicity ensued. The two came back martyrs and deceptively claimed they had faced down Israeli officials. Why the Israeli authorities did not try them in light of the evidence, who knows? – probably because they were American citizens. They used their experience for fundraising efforts.

I Told You So: The Muslim Doctor Terrorists Are No Surprise; Revealing Muslim Doctors’ Oath

By
**** OFFICIAL MATERIAL ****
It’s the doctors, stupid!
I’m not sure why everyone is so shocked that all eight suspects in the attempted British terrorist attacks of last week are Medical Doctors (and that ALL eight suspects are tied to the British national healthcare system, the NHS). Readers of this site aren’t surprised by the doctor terrorists.

First, Do Harm

As you’ll recall, in my mid-May column, I wrote about many of the doctors who’ve been top-ranking terrorists and involved in terrorist plots. Also, of note, I’ve complained about the special visas available for foreign alien MDs and other medical personnel to practice in America in small towns and at universities. I’ve written about how this makes it easy for Islamic doctor terrorists to get in and stay in, without much of a background check. (Like America doesn’t already have enough medical doctors.)
I did not mention something else I know about, which is a past FBI investigation into Syrian and other Arab Muslim Medical Doctors in the Detroit area who were holding fundraisers for HAMAS. The investigation was mostly conducted by counterterrorism agents in Chicago, as it was tied to a bigger scheme. But nothing ever happened to the doctors because, hey, post-9/11, we must be nice to the Muslims, no matter how extremist they are or how nefarious their activities are.
To refresh your memory, here is , though I’ve added one, who has since been convicted, Dr. Rafiq Sabir, and I’m also adding the British Terror Suspect Docs:

* Dr. Ayman Al-Zawahiri–Al-Qaeda mastermind and number two man, reportedly a surgeon and/or psychiatrist;
* Dr. Mohammad Rabi Al-Zawahiri–Ayman’s father and a Muslim Brotherhood enthusiast, pharmacologist and professor at Ain Shams Medical School;
* Dr. “Abu Hafiza”–Al-Qaeda master planner who was the brains and commander of the Moroccan cell that provided logistics for the 9/11 attacks, and he recruited Qaeda insurgents for battles in Fallujah, Moroccan psychiatrist;
* Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Rantisi–Late HAMAS leader, pediatrician;
* Dr. Mahmoud Al-Zahar–HAMAS co-founder and leader, surgeon and lecturer at the Islamic University in Gaza;
* Dr. Fathi Abd Al-Aziz Shiqaqi–Late founder of Islamic Jihad and active in Fatah, physician;
* Dr. George Habash–Founder and chief of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), pediatrician (which is interesting since he rocketed a school bus full of children in Avivim, Israel;
* Dr. Wadih Haddad–2nd in command of the PFLP, with Dr. Habash, and the mastermind of all of its armed terrorist operations. The strategy of terrorist hijacking as a way of attracting media attention was conceived by Haddad in 1967, according to an interview with the late Carlos “The Jackal”, who worked with Habash, Haddad, and PFLP to perpetrate hijackings and other terrorist attacks. The 1968 hijack of an El Al flight was Haddad’s baby. Haddad also planned the executions of the Arab world’s oil ministers, begininng with the Saudi Oil Minister. The Jackal also said:

Dr. Wadih Haddad is the historical initiator of armed revolutionary operations across borders.

* Dr. Bashar Assad–President of Terror-sponsor state Syria, welcoming home to every Islamic terrorist group imaginable, ophthalmologist;
* Dr. Rafiq Sabir–Boca Raton emergency room physician convicted in Al-Qaeda terrorist plot, pledging to treat and train terrorists, along with a New York martial arts expert;
* –A University of Texas medical doctor in the Galveston/Dickonson, Texas area, he sat in his vehicle, last summer, and shot several times at a random, 22-year-old infidel bicyclist. The male bike-rider, shot in his chest and shoulder, was in critical condition. Dr. Fadhli awaits trial, now scheduled for July 30th;
* Drs. Laila Al-Marayati and Riad Abdelkarim–Both work with and/or are top officials of KinderUSA (son of the Holy Land Foundation), which Al-Marayati voluntarily shutdown before the FBI did, as it was openly funding HAMAS “martyrs.” Abdelkarim went to “Palestine” in May or so of 2002 with Dr. Dallel Mohammed (not an MD). They took monies collected at an April 2002 fundraiser and were caught by Israeli security handing over the funds to a HAMAS operative. They were detained in an Israeli jail, and a large orgy of publicity ensued. The two came back to the U.S. as Muslim “martyrs” used it to raise money for more;
* –a Palestinian Medical Doctor of Gates Mills, Ohio. In 2005, he poisoned his pregnant 38-year-old wife, Rosemarie, with cyanide. She crashed her car and died. Dr. Essa fled to Lebanon and then traveled to Cyprus, where he was arrested, last October. Currently fighting extradition to the U.S.;
* –The Muslim Medical Doctor from Syria, who lives in the Detroit area, has a history of support of terrorist groups in his capacities and head of the now-defunct American Muslim Council (whose founder and Chairman sits in federal prison for terrorist activities and a plot to murder the Saudi King) and the American Muslim Alliance. Unfortunately, President Bush and the Michigan Republican Party remain close to Dr. Basha, even accepting free rental of office space from him. An FDA inspection of his nearby facility revealed “serious compromise in the quality of the mammography services offered.”
* Dr. Azizul Islam–Detroit area Muslim Medical Doctor from Asia murdered and dismembered his non-Muslim wife, convicted in 1999;
* Dr. Mohammed Jamil Abdelqader Asha–a 26-year-old neurologist who was arrested and is in custody as a suspect in the attempted London bombings, foiled Friday. He was born in Saudi Arabia, is of Palestinian origin, and has a Jordanian passport. His 27-year-old wife, a medical assistant, was also arrested for the foiled bombings;
* Dr. Bilal Talal Abdul Samad Abdulla–an Iraqi from Baghdad who was also arrested and is in custody as a suspect in the attempted Glasgow International Airport bombing, foiled Saturday. He was reportedly in the Jeep that drove into the airport, and is suffering from third-degree burns;
* Dr. Mohammed Haneef–an Indian Muslim arrested in Australia on Monday night in custody as a suspect in the attempted British terrorist bombing plots of last week;and
* The rest of the EIGHT Muslim Doctor(s) arrested as suspects in the British bombing plots of last week.

In that column, I wrote about Muslim doctor, , who deliberately let Jewish patient Joseph Applebaum die, by neglecting to ever see him in over 12 hours under his care in an emergency room at a Chicago hospital, Rush North Shore Medical Center.
Also of note, I wrote about then-New Jersey , a Muslim Arab resident, severed and stole the hand of a cadaver as a gift for a stripper. He got a slap on the hand and, oddly, is now employed at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
And don’t forget Dr. Jouhaina Maleh, an obstetrician, whose Dearbornistan offices were raided by the FBI in 2002, for suspected involvement in Medicaid fraud, in the case of masses of Muslim foreign aliens getting fraudulent Medicaid coverage for delivery of their babies–and, of course, U.S. citizenship for them.
Why are their cases tied to those of Muslim terrorist doctors listed above them? Well, because Muslim doctors have such little respect for Infidel human life. That’s not just my speculation. It’s in the text of the oath Muslim doctors take. This analysis on the site, Who Killed J.A.? (about the murder of Joseph Applebaum by his Muslim doctor), is enlightening:

The Islamic Medical Association of North America (“IMANA”) makes the Oath of a Muslim Physician available to the world. It can be accessed from the IMANA Website. According to IMANA, this oath “was officially adopted by I.M.A. in 1977.” (IMA is presumably the Islamic Medical Association.) This Oath ends with the following words:

Hereby we take this oath in Thy name, the Creator of all the Heavens and the earth and follow Thy counsel as Thou has revealed to Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).
“Whoever killeth a human being, not in liew [sic] of another human being nor because of mischief on earth, it is as if he hath killed all mankind. And if he saveth a human life, he hath saved the life of all mankind.” (Qur’an V/35)

[DS: This is flat-out stolen from the Jewish Torah (specifically from the Sanhedrin portion of the Talmud), which preceded it, though Jews don’t interpret it to allow Jihad as Muslims do, and it is not an “oath” for Jewish doctors.]
Compared to the other Oaths and Declarations, the Oath of a Muslim Physician appears to be unique in its possibly more conditional nature. The phrase, “not in liew of another human being nor because of mischief on earth,” suggests, licenses, allows or can certainly be interpreted or misinterpreted as to give understanding to a physician taking this Oath and who “killeth a human being,” that the killing is okay as long as it is “in liew of another human being” or “because of mischief on earth.”
“Mischief on earth” has also been translated as “corruption” on earth.
So who are the corruptors and mischief-makers?
We have guidance from some apparent experts:
“Non-Muslims ‘cannot be called human beings but are animals who roam the earth and engage in corruption.’ said Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati last week at a ceremony in north-eastern Iran to commemorate the ‘martyrs’ of the Revolutionary Guards and the war against Iraq (1980-88).”
“The non-Muslims are [like] those animals that graze, chew their cud, and cause corruption.”
[DS: And there are numerous other well-known Islamic precepts and statements against non-Muslims, particularly Jews and Christians. For brevity’s sake, I’ve omitted them here.]
Also unlike the other Oaths and Declarations, the Oath of a Muslim Physician contains the added dimension of religious quotation. As with all religious writings, there is opening to interpretation. The quoted Sura, V/35, appears in the Arberry Koran as:

. . . whoso slays a soul not to retaliate for a soul slain, nor for corruption done in the land, shall be as if he had slain mankind altogether.

This interpretation of the Koran, hailed by Wilfred Cantwell Smith of Harvard University as ” . . . the one that comes closest to conveying the impression made on Muslims by the original,” provides some insight as to an understanding of this Sura.
The terrorist physicians (as some may interpret their actions) killing or harming others or causing others to be killed or harmed may believe that it is permitted by Oath for the purposes of “retaliation” or perceived “corruption in the land.” As an example, the historically physician-led Hamas organization frequently justifies its attacks by proclaiming that its assaults are in “retaliation.”
Some might argue that certain physicians provided this quality of care well before the adoption of the Oath in 1977. Or, even those who have not taken the Oath, may be in agreement with it.
As IMANA [DS: The Muslim medical society identified above] states, “This medical oath [which] is a composite from the historical and contemporary writings of physicians of (the) Islamic World.” The Oath would appear to be merely a reduction to writing while the concepts comprised by it were in play well before 1977 and wider spread in the Muslim world thereby providing justification for a sick care outcome different from that a patient might desire.

Also important is that the first part of the oath–used to deny treatment of non-Muslim patients and even to kill them–has been prominently uttered by Osama Bin Laden to justify jihad.
And there’s much more. Read the whole thing.
In any event, we should not be surprised one iota that Medical Doctors–successful, wealthy ones with a great deal of education–are terrorists. The phony paradigm that terrorism is a function of poverty and desperation is just that–phony. It’s all about one thing that spans the various strata of wealth and poverty: Islam’s goal of domination . . . and the use of jihad to get there.
A Medical Degree isn’t a prophylactic to that. It’s just another very valuable tool to help bring the jihad about.
**** UPDATE: Read about more . ****

Early Week Box Office: Awesome Sci-Fi; Dreadful “Beaches” II

By
Out of the new movies out for the 4th, here’s the one I’ve seen, and a couple other recent releases I haven’t reviewed until now:
* “Transformers“: Definitely director Michael Bay’s most awesome movie, thus far, and a great investment for the hurting General Motors, as the transformers in this movie are GM cars and trucks and this movie is a great 2.5 hour commercial for them. If only the cars could transform like that. Very cool special effects like you’ve likely never seen.
This movie is chock-full of sci-fi effects, FOX co-stars from series like “24” and “Prison Break”–and even a few bigger names like Josh Duhamel and Jon Voight (he’s Secretary of Defense)–and a good moral fight of good versus evil.

Bad transformers from outer space come to earth and attack the mainframe of the U.S. military in the Pentagon by trying to download and destroy everything on it in Qatar. The transformers attack the soldiers in Qatar, too. The Secretary of Defense calls an emergency session. A gorgeous teen analyst-ette with a foreign accent (Rachael Taylor) working amidst the Pentagon top secret high-tech gaggle figures it the inhuman threat and warns the Secretary. She uses her ghetto gamer loser friend to break the code.
Meanwhile, summer clean-up actor (he’s cleaning up at the box office) Shia LeBeouf stars as Sam Witwicky, a teen who wants a car, wants to pick up his dream babe, Mikaela (Megan Fox) from high school (who doesn’t give him a second look), and is trying to sell junk left over from his misunderstood great-grandfather, Captain Archibald Witwicky, who discovered the frozen, evil Megatron, one of the evil transformers from outer space, out to destroy the human race.
The good transformers, headed by Optimus Prime pursue young Sam, and as it turns out, even his faulty Trans-Am (Camaro?) turns out to be a transformer, which steals itself away, etc. They need Sam and the formula embedded on his ancestor Captain Archibald’s glasses to find the cube, which will save them or–if Megatron and the bad tranformers get it–will destroy them and ultimately, humans and planet earth. Together, Sam, the girl, and the good transformers fight the evil ones to save the human race. There is an extended final showdown on the streets of a major U.S. big city between the good and evil transformers. (If you notice Detroit, Toronto, L.A., and Boston in the background, you’re correct. All–including Detroit’s largely abandoned Fort Street, and the McNamara Federal Building are onscreen.)
There’s a lot at play here amidst the awesome special effects (the movie’s worth seeing for those alone): Outer space alien machines versus humans without machine high-tech abilities and strengths; foreigners versus English speakers (the bad transformers are speaking Chinese or Japanese); U.S. Military versus Machines (at the beginning, the bad transformers attack the U.S. military in Qatar and nearly download and eliminate the Pentagon’s entire computer system).
Three bad things about this otherwise fantastic adventure:
1) A movie that would and should appeal to kids is populated with a ton of four-letter words, lots of sexual references, and an extended discussion of masturbation. Filmmakers apparently wanted a PG-13 rating and older teens to flock to it. But, instead, they’ve mixed garbage with treasure in what could have been a perfect summer flick for kids of all ages. And the sex stuff just was out of place in a movie about transformers.
2) At almost 2.5 hours, this movie is Way. Too. Long. At least a 1/2 hour, if not an hour could have been cut from it.
3) There were too many characters and plots goin on and the whole thing was a little confusing.
Still, the fight between the machines who would kill man versus the good ones who save him are a worthwhile message. And who knew a movie about an old toy from at least a decade ago would be so exciting and entertaining? And different.
* “Evening“: Hated the melodramatic, anti-male uber-chick flick, “Beaches”? This is like this decade’s “Beaches,” but a whole lot more dreadful and depressing. Plus, it stars blatant anti-Semite Vanessa Redgrave, who at 70, looks every day of 92. If this movie was meant to dispel the notion that most high-society females are self-absorbed, ugly, and inbred, it fails miserably. Meryl Streep’s daughter, who looks just like her, sounds every bit like her name, Mamie Gummer.
Here’s the story: A woman, Ann, is at the end of her life, dying of a terminal illness, and will soon be dead. She murmurs the name “Harris” and says confusing things while her 30- or 40-something daughters watch over her in her home. She drifts in and out of sleep dreaming and remembering her wealthy friend, Lila, whose wedding she is attending. Lila is marrying Carl, but she is really in love with Harris, a man on whom she’s had a crush her whole life. But Harris is not in love with her. Lila’s brother, Buddy, is in love with Ann, on whom he’s had a long-term crush. But Ann is not in love with him. She falls for Harris. After discovering this, Buddy cries, gets drunk, and gets hit by a car going to find Ann and Harris. He dies. We learn that Ann never ended up with Harris. They both married others But we never learn why or what happened in the ensuing years, since it’s clear they still loved each other. A lot of regret.
During the whole telling of this story, we also see Ann’s grown daughters, one married with kids and settled, and the other a “commitophobe,” as she calls herself, and a drifter. Will she settle down, in the wake of her mother’s impending death? Yes, we find out. She doesn’t want to make her mother’s mistake, when she eventually learns from the older Lila who Harris was. The end.
Guys, if your female significant others want to see this, run . . . fast. Yuck. And way too long (two hours).

* “Paris Je T’aime”: 20 directors make short, mostly bizarre films about falling in love in different neighborhoods of Paris–with many well-known American, French, and other actors. None of the stories really gets a chance to develop and most are stupid and a waste of time. Especially loved how since this is the Capital of ever-growing Muslim-dominated France, we are also shown a beautiful girl in a hijab and how kind she and her grandfather are to a nice non-Muslim French boy who falls in love with her while defending her honor. I bet it’s that way with all of the rioters. Right?
The best of the shorts is the one in which tourist Steve Buscemi is reading a tour guide in the Tuileries subway stop, while he is taunted by a girl and her boyfriend across the track. He doesn’t speak a word, but his expressions are priceless. Also good was the vampire short, starring Elijah Wood, who also utters no words.
Way too long. Could have been far more interesting. Instead, it was mostly dull and boring.

Joel Siegel, Z ” L*: Movie Critic Stood Up Against Depravity

By
As you probably know by now, ABC’s “Good Morning America” film critic Joel Siegel died on Friday at the age of 63 of colon cancer.
Although I did not know Joel, nor did I always agree with his movie reviews, he seemed like a very decent and classy guy. And I had a very positive exchange with him over our movie reviews, last year. He walked out of the screening of the sequel to Clerks, “Clerks II” because it was so disgusting. I wrote a review column on the movie, entitled, Joel walked out of the movie when characters talked about paying a woman to perform oral sex on a donkey (they sanitized this outrage with the PC term “interspecies erotica”). I wish I’d walked out at that point, too. I admired this multi-talented, bright former Martin Luther King organizer, RFK joke-writer, and creator of Baskin-Robbins flavor names, for having the good sense and the morals to speak out against depravity–something you don’t see much in today’s movie critics who accept it as the norm and thus legitimize it.

Joel Siegel, Z”L

I sent Joel the column and he responded. He asked me to keep his e-mail private. But since he, sadly, is no longer with us, and since it is a positive manifestation of his moral compass, I reprint it, below:

—– Original Message —–

Subject: RE: Clerks II – Debbie Schlussel
thanks. i’m kind of proud of myself.
i heard that dialogue, figured there’s no way i’m reviewing this on morning tv. and no way i want to stick around to see if they
actually do these things.

Another thing I liked about Joel was his brashness and forthrightness. Like me, he was not afraid to offend Hollywood’s big names, even atop the ABC movie review perch. Siegel once said he could not understand the appeal of Matthew McConaughey (I agree):

The appeal of Matthew McConaughey has long evaded me both as a pinup and as an actor. His constant ticks, bad hair and strained syntax as a coach fumble what should have been the tragic and inspirational story of the rebuilding of Marshall University’s football team after a devastating plane crash [in last year’s “We Are Marshall.”]”

The moustachioed Siegel was relatively very young, and his colon cancer could have been eradicated completely, had he been screened for it and gotten the test when he was 50, instead of 53. He wanted others to get their colonoscopies younger than he did, and since my grandfather died of the same at an even younger age, I think that’s sound advice. And if you do one thing to remember Joel Siegel, do that–get your colonoscopy regularly, once you reach the required age. After Siegel finally got his, he bought himself another ten years of life, even if they were sometimes painful (as he said on TV).
Read Harry Shearer’s and Roger Ebert’s touching remembrances of Joel Siegel.

DUMB to the Nth: FBI Imitates “Transformers” Movie, Gives Teens Top Secret Clearance

By
In one of the dumber life-imitates-art moves in federal law enforcement, the FBI is imitating part of the “Transformers” movie, in theaters tomorrow (my review coming later today).
The FBI is giving teens as young as age 16 top-secret clearance in a summer program for inner-city high school students from Washington, DC. Like way totally cool, dude. NOT. Hello? Hello? Hello . . . ?

Famous But Incompetent: FBI Asst. Director Joseph Persichini is Mastermind of Top Secret Clearance for Inner City Teens

In an agency that missed 9/11, refused to listen to (see also, ) after 70 memos and begging sessions about Zacarias Moussaoui, gave away info to the Russians for 15 years via Robert Hanssen, and engaged in other assorted “Desperate But Not Serious” screw-ups, this one ranks up there with the completely boneheaded.
It’s never a good idea to give someone not completely yet out of the doldrums of puberty, zits, dating, and the prom, access to our nation’s highest secrets. . . let alone, teens from the crime-ridden inner city. It’s only a good idea when it’s part of a fictional movie, as it is in “Transformers,” and even there, though the hot teenage analyst helps save the day, she violates protocol and shares top secret info with her gamer slacker friend in the ghetto.
I can just see one of these 16-year-old, geeky FBI summer camp guy who is probably nerdy-looking as all get out and can’t get arrested. And some slutty woman sent by Muslim terrorists or other criminals seduces him in exchange for his passwords. Don’t think it could happen with these vulnerable kids from the inner city? It happens all the time. Just ask , the then-high-level Homeland Security Official who thought he was talking online to a 14-year-old teen and offered her all kinds of restricted access.
We’re lucky he was actually talking to sheriffs in Polk County, Florida. Oh, and yes, he was not a teenager. But, FYI, they have even less judgment. Why do you think they get into the most auto accidents and pay the highest rate for auto insurance? And from the inner city? Even more likely to violate the conditions of their top-secret level clearance. I mean, don’t you think the high crime rates in inner cities should be a clue? I thought it was the Federal Bureau of INVESTIGATION.
Here’s a hint for the Famous But Incompetent FBI: It has something to do with teen’s prudence . . . or, rather, lack of it.
So who dreamed up this magnet for problems move? Why, none other than FBI Assistant Director Joseph Persichini. Whoever said the cream rises to the top at the FBI? (Someone without a clue, if anyone.)
Call this what it is: extremely stupid affirmative action at the expense of national security.
More on this latest Keystone Koppery from our friends at the FBI:

WASHINGTON – Despite past high-profile security breaches, the FBI is providing top-secret clearances to 50 District of Columbia students this summer. The move is part of a recruiting effort to identify future agents and analysts for the fast-growing bureau.
The program, in its second year, is the only one of its kind in the federal government that grants such access to students, some as young as 16, for paid research and clerical positions, said Joseph Persichini, the assistant director of the FBI who also developed the program for inner-city teens.
A top-secret clearance provides access to guarded government information.
It is the same clearance level granted to select state and local police officials for their increased dealings with the bureau in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks.
In recent years, some of that information has fallen out of the bureau’s control in the form of lost laptops or because of the actions of the bureau’s own agents. . . .
Persichini said the bureau “wouldn’t involve them in overly sensitive issues.”
He said all of the recruits, ages 16 to 21, are required to pass personal background and polygraph examinations before they are admitted.
“Our goal is to start a pipeline,” the assistant director said, referring to an early recruitment process that would ensure a steady stream of qualified future applicants from varied backgrounds.
“Some don’t make it,” Persichini said of the background checks. “We still ask the drug (use) question.
“What we’re providing here is a glimpse of an opportunity. But you have to show some confidence (in the students) or that opportunity will fade away.” . . .
University of Toledo law professor David Harris, who analyzes law enforcement ethics, questioned whether the investment of such responsibility in very young candidates is worth the risk.
“I’m all for reaching out and getting kids interested in law enforcement at a young age,” Harris said. “But some kids that age can exhibit terrible judgment.”

Criminal Justice Policy Foundation President Eric Sterling acknowledged that while there may be some risk in providing such access, it was perhaps “more valuable for them to be entrusted with the responsibility.”
“It’s laudable that the FBI is reaching out to unusual kinds of constituencies,” said Sterling, whose organization analyzes drug policy and various other criminal justice issues. [DS: “outreach” ad absurdum.] . . .
Half of the students, whose $8-per-hour salaries are being paid by the District of Columbia, will be assigned to the bureau’s Washington field office and the others to FBI headquarters across town, said FBI spokesman Debbie Weierman.
All of them will be detailed to units involved in a range of investigations, from bank robbery to public corruption cases, where they will assist with research, data entry, filing and other tasks.
“This is our chance to provide opportunity to the youth of our city,” Persichini said.

Like I said, I’ve heard of affirmative action. But this is ridiculous.

Sad Sign of the Times: Environmentalists/PETA Beat Down Patriots, History

By
Need a sign that enviro-nazis and People for the Unethical Treatment of Animals and humans (PUTAh) are winning . . . and that Americans are dumbing down our sense of history, honor and patriotism?
As we near the celebration of our nation’s birth, the Fourth of July, the Center for Civic Innovatoin at the Manhattan Institute reports that fewer and fewer schools are taking their names from Presidents and other American historical figures, and more and more of them are being named for bodies of water, trees, and animals. It’s about the influence of lesser topics over important ones like history and the founding of our country. But it’s also about PC-culture–no-one wants to upset anyone by picking a “dead White man.”

Nature Beating Out the Founders

Still, if you are one of those Black militants who doesn’t care for schools being named for “dead white men,” this is your issue, too. Not only are fewer schools being named for Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, but fewer schools are being named for George Washington Carver and Martin Luther King, Jr., also.
More of this sad story, which is stark evidence of the Granola-ing of America causing its dumbing down:

Public schools across the USA are increasingly more likely to be named after bodies of water, trees and animals than historical figures, a study reports today.
The shift toward names such as Skyline High and Owl Creek Elementary represents a decline in the civic mission of school names, suggesting schools are not taking advantage of a key teaching opportunity, an author of the study says.
“It’s a reflection of what our priorities are,” says Brian Kisida, a research associate at the University of Arkansas. “Clearly, we can’t change all the school names to honor leaders and expect everyone to rush out and start voting. But the name provides an opportunity to teach about values . . . and create effective citizens.
“I attended Eisenhower Elementary School in Davenport, Iowa,” he adds. “If I hadn’t had a reason to know who Eisenhower was, I probably still wouldn’t know. But my school used its namesake to give us something to think about.”
The study, published by the Center for Civic Innovation at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, analyzes school names in Arizona, Florida, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio and Wisconsin.
* Less than 5% of schools nationwide are named after presidents.
* Five public schools in Florida are named after George Washington, while 11 are named after manatees.
* In Arizona, public schools are 50% more likely to be named after a natural object, such as a mesa or cactus, than a current or former leader.

Up next: Jerry Garcia Junior High? Maybe. And in that case, the “high” is a double entendre. And a double cultural downer.

OUTRAGE: DHS Gives Muslim Groups Plans for Increased Security in Special Conference Call

By
Question: Immediately after the Pearl Harbor attack, what did the President do to protect the American people?
Answer: He had his Homeland Security Civil Rights officer, Daniel Sutherland, host a conference call with the German-American Bund, the Japanese concentration camp inmates, and Nazi and Japan supporters all over America to give them the full scoop on any extra security measures and plans of attack he was formulating.
Well, no, he actually didn’t do that because there was no falsely-named Homeland Security Department, and no guy whose full-time job it was to pander to Nazi and Japan allies in America. Nope, in that time in America, we actually defended America and fought its enemies. Today, it’s the other way around.

(Thanks to David Lunde/Lundesigns for Technical Assistance w/this image)

And that’s why, yesterday, one of Michael “Serpenthead” Chertoff’s top officials, Daniel Sutherland, held a conference call, telling Muslims things that the rest of us will never get to hear. Read this outrage and extremely stupid exercise in America’s bend-overness (bend over backward, bend over forward, etc.):

Washington, DC | July 2, 2007 | www.adc.org | Yesterday, July 1, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) joined Muslim, Sikh and South Asian American organizations in a conference call with US Departments of Homeland Security (DHS), State, Justice, Treasury, and Health and Human Services officials to discuss unclassified information and respond to concerns following the terrorist incidents in London and Glasgow in the previous 48 hours.
Daniel Sutherland, Director of the Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties at the US Department of Homeland Security, convened a call of the DHS Incident Management Team with the American Arab, Muslim, Sikh, and South Asian American communities. Briefings were provided by an operations official of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and by Dr. Akbar Ahmed of the American University, who is in the UK meeting with members of Parliament and leaders of the British Muslim community.
During the conference call, government officials pledged to continue their work to protect all communities and uphold civil rights and civil liberties. Federal officials pledged to continue to be active in prosecuting hate crimes, acts of employment discrimination, and upholding the free exercise of religion by all communities.
Community and government leaders discussed in-depth actions the communities and the Federal government can take together. [DS: Like, the federal government bends over first and reaches for the ankles, and then . . . .] ADC and the other organizations representing these communities have been actively tackling these issues since 9/11 and are active members of the DHS Incident Management Team. The community organizations re-stated that they are serious about developing best practices that will combat extremism and radicalization while protecting civil rights and civil liberties.
Specific steps that were discussed included:
* At least two significant conferences with youth from these communities will be held in Washington, D.C. this summer. These conferences will enable senior government officials and community leaders understand the thoughts and hopes of young people from these communities. In turn, they will also help young people from these communities better engage with their government;
* Major national conferences hosted by Muslim American organizations will include a focus on developing tools to connect communities to federal, state and local government, with the goal of ensuring that America’s religious, ethnic and racial minority communities are engaged with and not isolated from their governments;
* Both government and community leaders reiterated their commitment to a robust discussion of policy at community roundtables across the country; and
* ADC and other community leaders re-stated strongly their willingness to improve upon their work with communities in the UK and across Europe to identify best practices for decreasing isolation and extremism; government leaders pledged to identify ways to support these efforts.
ADC acknowledges the DHS’ efforts in spearheading the Incident Management Team and discussing these details over the weekend. ADC emphasizes the need for continued dialog and cooperation with law enforcement and other government agencies in order to combat negative misconceptions and the stereotyping of entire communities based on the actions of a few individuals.
The federal officials assured ADC and the other organizations that there is no evidence suggesting the terrorist incidents in the UK have any relation to the United States. The officials also stated that these incidents are not and should not be reflective of any specific religion or communities and should not be taken as such by members of the media or the general population.
Further, ADC reminds members of the media to be mindful of using terminology that would associate these terrorist incidents with any specific religion as a whole or any particular ethnic or racial communities. Rather, as the officials clearly indicated, these are the deplorable actions of extremist individuals.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS ADVISORY
Due to the recent developments in the UK, ADC is releasing the following advisory statement to members of the Arab, Muslim, South Asian, and Sikh American communities. ADC feels it prudent to issue this advisory statement due to the potential of a backlash against these communities and given the historically documented acts of hate-motivated violence including vandalism against these communities.
ADC would like to emphasize that it is issuing this advisory based on experiences in the community in recent years, and purely as a precautionary measure. ADC presents these suggestions for the consideration of the Arab, Muslim, South Asian, and Sikh American communities, to be evaluated by each family and individual according to their own best judgment and in the context of their own situation and relationship with their local community. ADC urges everyone to exercise common sense and rely on their own best judgment, but offers the following as suggestions should the need arise:
1) IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW IS PLACED IN PHYSICAL DANGER BECAUSE OF YOUR ETHNICITY, RELIGION, OR NATIONAL ORIGIN . . . .
ADC would like to emphasize that it is issuing this advisory based on experiences in the community in recent years, and purely as a precautionary measure. ADC presents these suggestions for the consideration of the Arab, Muslim, South Asian, and Sikh American communities, to be evaluated by each family and individual according to their own best judgment and in the context of their own situation and relationship with their local community. . . .
[BLAH, BLAH, BLAH . . . .]

Fricking ridiculous. Muslims attack innocent people. Muslims get empowered by spineless, clueless, PC law-enforcement types. Muslims let their fellow Muslims know how to game the pandering law enforcement with a “know your rights for terrorists” notice. We’ve seen it over and over and over again. This is just the latest example. When will these people at Homeland Security learn? You keep pandering to these people every time they whine, they keep whining. Just like a spoiled child.
And interesting that Dr. Akbar Ahmed–who denied, on Oprah, that Islam has anything to do with honor killings of women–is their emissary.
So, which Homeland Security officials will be pandering at the halal falafel buffet at the Muslim “youth conferences,” this summer?
Will it be Serpenthead, himself? A good bet.
Oh, and by the way, I love how these Muslims at ADC are offering to work with Muslims in the UK to help “decrease extremism.” Like the great job they’ve done here, where their kids are even way more radical than they are, with a third supporting homicide bombers in polls? Or how they’ve worked here opposing every single law proposed in Congress to crack down on terrorists? And how they’ve repeatedly attacked law enforcement and prosecutors each and every time a Muslim is arrested and prosecuted?
Yes, please send them to Europe . . . on a one-way ticket.
Notice they didn’t say they will work to help stop terrorism in Europer. They simply don’t want it to stop. Then, the conference calls and their power will stop with it. Ditto for their jihad.

Question for Michael “Serpenthead” Chertoff

By
Watching Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff a/k/a “Mr. Burns” on “FOX News Sunday,” yesterday, I couldn’t help but notice that in the ever-changing spectrum of Chertoff facial hair, his face now resembles a serpenthead (in stiff competition with Democratic strategist James Carville). And I had a question for him.
The DHS Serpent-in-Chief told host Chris Wallace that he’s most concerned with European Muslims who are indoctrinated in Europe or trained in the Mid-East for jihad, entering the U.S.
So my question, Mr. DHS Serpenthead is this:

Michael “Serpenthead” Chertoff is Starting to Resemble . . .

James “Serpenthead” Carville

If you’re so worried about Muslims from Europe entering the U.S., why the heck are you seeking to make their entry easier by ? As , the Visa Waiver program is a nightmare because it gives waivers to those seeking Visas from waiver countries and doesn’t force them to endure interviews or extensive background checks. The program assumes that citizens of friendly, allied countries, like Britain, are also, themselves, friendly and allied people who will do no harm to America. I think we’ve seen that idea blown up by the bombs that failed and the many before that were successful. And by the Hamburg Cell. The Spanish cell. The Frenchman, Zacarias Moussaoui. Etc., etc., etc., ad nauseam.
So, Snakeman, if you’re so worried about these Muslims from Europe, what are you doing to stop them from coming here? Funny, I never heard Chertoff call for an end to the Visa Waiver program (he supports its expansion). Also “funny,” in the last months and weeks, we’ve only heard Chertoff lament the lack of passing Illegal Alien Amnesty to let a lot of these Jihadi Muslims become instant Z-Visa citizens.
What he didn’t call for was stricter borders. Let’s see what he does and says when conservatives try to pass an enforcement-only bill.
And don’t hold your breath for him. He’s too busy molting and eating his young.
