Who released noxious fumes into a Spokane, Washington mall in January, injuring at least 36 people?
That’s what authorities are investigating. But I’m sure the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force–which is looking into it–will tell us there’s no reason to think it’s terrorism (even though internally, they believe that it is). Right–maybe someone just farts more powerfully than the rest of us.
Sending poisonous chemicals through the HVAC systems of a shopping mall has been a plot point in both FOX’s “24” and Showtime’s “Sleeper Cell,” among other shows focusing on Islamic terrorism in America.

More details from Associated Press and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer:

SPOKANE, Wash. — A February incident in which noxious fumes were released in the region’s largest shopping mall is being investigated by the FBI as a possible incident of domestic terrorism.
The fumes prompted the evacuation of NorthTown Mall in February, and at least 36 people sought medical care.
The case was forwarded to the FBI’s Inland Northwest Joint Terrorism Task Force by Spokane police, police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer DeRuwe said. Officials wouldn’t say specifically why they believe terrorism might have been involved.
Shoppers were evacuated Feb. 11 after some suffered symptoms consistent with being exposed to pepper spray or Mace, DeRuwe said. Reactions included coughing, watery eyes and noses, and scratchy throats.
No one suffered long term health damage, DeRuwe said.
Norman C. Brown, the FBI task force supervisor, said the incident “could be anything from a prank to an intentional act against a targeted store.”
Another possible objective may have been to test the emergency-response system, Brown said.
“If these individuals were sophisticated, it would give them an idea of the type of response and a time frame in which they can operate safely.”
NorthTown Mall marketing director Leslea Warnick declined to comment.
A surveillance video showed a man running from JC Penney inside the mall, where the incident was centered, DeRuwe said. However, they do not know who the man is or if he was involved, she said.
“We have no suspects at this time,” Brown said.
The Inland Northwest Joint Terrorism Task Force investigates cases in Eastern Washington and northern Idaho, including domestic and international terrorism. The task force is made up of federal, state and local law enforcement, and is funded through the FBI’s budget.
Domestic terrorists are U.S. residents “who commit acts of terrorism on our own soil,” Brown said.
When two Hummers were damaged in 2005 at the George Gee Auto Dealership in Liberty Lake, the joint terrorism task force determined it was domestic terrorism. The case is different from the NorthTown Mall incident because “an individual claiming to be affiliated with the Environmental Liberation Front claimed responsibility,” Brown said.

So what has the FBI done to prevent this from happening again? Have they or DHS put out mandated safety and security precautions for shopping malls and other places attracting large populations? Have they mandated what kind of security locks and safeguards there must be to prevent terrorists from infiltrating HVAC systems?

A $300 million national document fraud ring that provides all types of fake ID to illegal aliens, criminals, terrorists, and sundry other malefactors, is gearing up to create fraudulent documents that meet requirements for a Z-Visa under the Immigration Amnesty Bill.
Members of the Mexican organization–based in and around Chicago’s Little Village Discount Mall Little Village–were indicted in United States v. Julio Leija-Sanchez, et al., unsealed in late April. The violent ring engages in various kinds of fraud and theft in addition to the fake documents and has operations in 28 states, including Michigan and Indiana. That’s in addition to murder of competitor document fraud rings.

Members of the ring said they are preparing phony documents to establish residency in America as of January 2007, a requirement of the Z-Visa immigration amnesty under the bill currently under U.S. Senate consideration. This would likely lead to millions of fraudulent instant citizens under the new immigration bill. And don’t expect Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to investigate and enforce against this document fraud any better than they are currently doing, under the status quo. In fact many top ICE officials have allowed affiliates of the fraud ring to continue operation unfettered.
Although Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Julio Leija-Sanchez, the alleged Chicago cell leader, ICE has been unable to arrest Gerardo Salazar-Rodriguez, a fugitive believed to be in Mexico. And top ICE officials, such as Michigan/Ohio Special Agent in Charge Brian Moskowitz a/k/a “Abu Moskowitz,” have been aware of branches of the operation in their jurisdictions, but have done nothing to shut them down. Moskowitz was made aware a couple of years ago of the Michigan branch of the fraud ring–whose members would gladly sell fake ID to terrorists. But he has sent no agents to shut it down or even to investigate it. Your tax dollars (not) at work.
A woman involved in the ring admits that they are looking forward to the passage of the Immigration Amnesty Bill, as it provides a new market to provide fake documentation that an alien has resided in the U.S. as of January 2007.
An April Justice Department Press Release states:

According to the complaint affidavit, the fraudulent document organization originated in Mexico and is affiliated with a Mexican family named Castorena-Ibarra. ICE agents around the country believe that the organization produces false documents in several U.S. cities, including Denver, Los Angeles and Chicago. Information developed during the investigation indicates that the organization generates millions of dollars in illegal proceeds each year in Chicago alone. Julio Leija-Sanchez allegedly assumed control of the organization in Chicago after his brother, Manuel Leija- Sanchez, 40, who also is among the 22 charged, was deported in May 2006. Manuel Leija-Sanchez allegedly still exercises leadership of the organization from Mexico.
The organization allegedly recruits illegal aliens to come to Chicago and sell false documents on street corners in the Little Village neighborhood, where individuals solicit business for the organization overtly. These individuals sell all sorts of false identification documents – such as driver’s licenses purportedly issued by a variety of states, immigration documents such as Resident Alien Cards (Green Cards), and other purportedly government-issued documents. In just one location in the area of Albany and 26th Street alone, there are as many as 15 to 20 illegal aliens at any one time selling false documents, the charges allege. When these sellers locate a customer, they obtain a photograph and personal information, such as name and address that the customer wants on a particular card. Once these sellers have accumulated such information from enough customers, one of the sellers will send that information to a document production facility where the false documents are made.
Members of the organization are primarily of Mexican descent, but the ethnicity of their customers varies, including American, Polish, Indian, Algerian, Arab, Mexican, Nigerian, Canadian, Haitian, Pakistani, and Asian. Law enforcement is unaware of any occasion in which the organization declined selling fraudulent identification documents to a customer who had sufficient money to purchase the documents, the complaint states. . . .
The complaint alleges that the organization is also involved in the smuggling of illegal aliens into the United States from Mexico. Once these individuals arrive in Chicago, the organization provides them false identification, and they then pay off their debt to those who smuggled them here by working for the organization. . . .
Based on undercover purchases and information obtained from cooperating sources, law enforcement believes the organization sells as many as 50 to 100 sets of fraudulent identification documents each day, charging customers approximately $200 to $300 cash per “set.” A set consists of a Social Security card and either an Immigration “green card” or a State driver’s license. Each vendor in the organization is obligated to provide approximately $140 cash per set of documents to the organization and keeps the remaining profit, the charges allege. According to an intercepted call from Julio Leija-Sanchez in February, he said: “I’m telling you, we’ve been here for 20 years, and a couple of times they have caught people. Not us.”

If you expect this to change or get anything other than worse, with the immigration bill, then I have a bridge–no, make that some fake documents–to sell you.

Uh, there is a “Palestinian unit” training in Jordan? The only Palestinian “units” training in Jordan are terrorists in terrorist training camps.
And, FYI, there’s no doubt Israel will let them in. How dumb is this? VERY dumb. Off the deep end.

I went to last night’s screening of Bruce Willis’ “Live Free or Die Hard” expecting to hate it. And I was pleasantly–shockingly–surprised. I loved this movie (which hits theaters, today).
It’s hard to believe this is the third sequel to 1988’s “Die Hard”. The movie is the best movie of the summer, so far, and it makes my Top Ten movies of the year at this point, half way through 2007. I loved it. It’s pure non-stop action, filled with excellent special effects, great lines, lots of humor, and a very viable terrorist threat that can very easily be perpetrated on America, thanks to the do-nothing Departments of Homeland Security and Energy and the FBI. And it’s patriotic and enlightening.

This is what summer action thrillers are supposed to be about. And this is a great prelude to the Fourth of July. The audience clapped at the end, and when you see it, you’ll no why. A great return to the Hollywood action thriller. I expect I’ll only like as much as this one.
This time, Bruce Willis’ NYPD Detective John McClane teams up with Keanu Reeves lookalike Justin Long, a hacker who helps Willis stop cyber-terrorist Timothy Olyphant, who plays a former high-ranking government cyber-security official, who was ruined by the federal government, after he exposed and complained about holes in America’s national security post-9/11. (I personally know people who’ve complained about similar security post-9/11 and have had their reputations pillaged by the feds, so that’s legit.)
Olyphant conducts a “fire sale”–where the entire country, all of its infrastructure, is systematically attacked taken off the grid: All computer, electricity, and everything that operates on a cyber basis is taken out of commission. That means traffic lights, utilities, everything is undone. And the whole country is put into chaos. It’s called a fire sale because “everything must go.”
And as in real-life–where then-Bush Energy Secretary and did nothing after the Blackout of 2003 to ensure it doesn’t happen again (and he’s now a )–America remains vulnerable to attack.
A “fire sale” attack could definitely be perpetrated upon America in real life. As we know from testimony in the past week, there have been 800 hacking attacks into Homeland Security computers at the highest levels. What has Michael Chertoff done about it? Nada. Zippo. Osama Bin Laden took credit for the 2003 Blackout, and even if he wasn’t responsible, it’s very conceivable a cyber-terrorist attack on a fire-sale scale could certainly happen. Islamofascists are very tech savvy, even as they hate the Westerners who created it.
As readers know, I’ve been for a number of reasons and . I remain steadfast in that reservation and note that this movie would have been even more fabulous if they were. The identity and motivations of the terrorists in this one are harder to buy into. And, yes, some of the death-defying scenes in the movie are too incredible to be believed, especially with 52-year-old Willis (though he’s in better shape than many 40-year-olds).
Still, it’s a great movie. And I recommend it highly. Guys, you will love this. It’s a man’s man’s man’s movie in the tradition of some of the great action thrillers of the 1980’s and early ’90s with much updated technology. Think mixed with “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” It’s not for young kids though. This one is very bloody and violent and lots of people are killed, though usually they are bad guys knocked off by the good guys.
Another bonus: This movie shows how incompetent the FBI, DHS, and NSA are when it comes to cybersecurity. Aside from the Congressional testimony about DHS hackers and the repeated FBI loss of computers containing classified info, we know that in many of the important terrorist cases, NYPD officials–like John McClane–have stopped attacks (), where the FBI has been impotent.
This isn’t a spoiler, but I loved it at the end of the movie when the FBI agents finally show up and rappel down from helicopters, after John McClane and his allies have already saved the day and themselves from impending death. America knows this ain’t fiction, as evidenced by the audience (with whom I saw this flick), who booed the FBI agents.
“Would you go home, FBI?! You’re too late. Too late.” That’s what a moviegoer behind me shouted to lots of applause. If only that were strictly fiction and not–as it is far too many times–fact.
Just ask Special Agent (see also).
Go see this. You’ll thank me.

The Off-Her-Rocker-Fatty posts this photo on her blog, today, of her blonde-haired, blue-eyed White kid (one of the ones she did not reject and return to the adoption agency), Vivi O’Donnell in training for the jihad. It’s a very serious form of child abuse. And a strong confirmation that Umm Rosie is a very sick person who can’t be trusted with children.

What price would you put on being Black? On varying degrees of likely or possible racism? How much would you demand in compensation to undergo the experience? How much would you ask to be paid if you also knew that you would be part of an elite group that receives all sorts of preferential treatment, even if you experienced little harm?
A study co-authored by Harvard and Ohio State University professors said that White Americans generally said they’d charge less than $10,000 to live the rest of their lives as Blacks.
But Mahzarin Banaji, a Harvard social ethics professor, and Philip Mazzoco, an Ohio State assistant professor of psychology–who conducted the study–are upset at these findings. I wondered why they would conduct such a study, the results of which appear in the current issue of Harvard’s Du Bois Review, published by the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research, Harvard University.

And they’ve given insight in press interviews. They believe that this offers insight as to why about 90% of White Americans object to reparations. They also say that there really are higher costs associated with being Black, like lower income and wealth, higher poverty levels, and shorter lifespans than Blacks. In a press release, they say Whites “underestimate the cost of being Black.”
On the other hand, the study does not examine the “pay” Blacks and minorities already get for being members of their ethnic groups: affirmative action admissions in college and graduate schools, affirmative action in hiring, minority set asides in government contracting. All of these are forms of compensation that exert racism and costs on non-minorities (ie., Whites). Maybe that’s why Whites would ask for less than $10,000 to live out their lives as Blacks. Those things don’t exist in a vacuum, and they’re part of the price . . . or rather, the “business transaction.”
Obviously skin color is different from ethnicity, and it’s generally difficult to hide from. And no-one should have to hide from that identity. As a known Jew, however, I endure more than my fair share of anti-Semitism. Death threats from several Muslims have let to huge impingements on my lifestyle, which I’ve had to take as security precautions, and which–for that reason–I can’t go into here.
Yet, as readers of this site know, I’m very proud of my heritage, and I’d never demand pay for it. It’s not a negative or something I’d ever describe as “the cost of being Jewish.” Only self-haters and bigots describe it that way. It’s part of my identity that is a positive influence on who I am. That White Americans also would see being Black in the same way, and therefore, wouldn’t ask for a lot of money to live out their lives as Blacks, should be greeted as a very positive result. It shows the respondents don’t see being Black as a bad thing–that they aren’t racist.
Those who would demand large pay are the ones we should be worried about. And it’s good news that there aren’t many of those in White America, according to this study. If only there were similar results in Black America.
It’s sad that academics, including those from the over-rated Harvard, don’t see it from that point of view. And they are the ones teaching America’s future leaders and civic-minded citizens.
They’re bummed that, unlike Bill Clinton, most Americans don’t feign the “I feel your pain” biz and don’t value race-based shakedowns the way the titans of the industry–Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton–do.
Those Blacks who speak of “the cost of being Black” are really no different than those in the Klan who have similar feelings about them. And it’s very disturbing.

Aside from moral reasons and my opposition to the attempt to alter the definition of marriage, one of the biggest reasons I’m against legalized gay marriage is the hardly-mentioned increased marriage fraud problems it would spur in the immigration arena.
We already know that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials–including an ICE Special Agent in Charge in Texas–have ordered agents in various cities not to investigate sham marriages. Imagine the increased marriage fraud activities, were this country to recognize gay marriage.
The Seattle Times reports various sob stories on 36,000 gays and lesbians in “partnerships” with foreign aliens. Gays call them “love exiles.” I call them potential fraud marriage perpetrators who badly want U.S. citizenship.

Imagine the system getting even more swamped with phony marriages, were gay marriage to be recognized. There would be no way to determine that these were legit couples. It’s not exactly like Citizenship and Immigration Services adjudicators are going to give the couples a “test drive” to determine they are really gay and in a relationship. There is a huge potential for .
And FYI, the Immigration Amnesty Bill makes no mention of how these people will be treated, should gay marriage ever become legal in the 50 States. That’s a potential black hole of immigration fraud.
Oh, and by the way, those gays in these relationships with foreign aliens support the Illegal Alien Amnesty Bill. Gee, I wonder why.
(Canada recognizes gay marriage and gives foreign alien gay “spouses” visas and citizenship. Do we want to be like Canada, where every terrorist gets a golden ticket of entry?)

Can you imagine even Amnesty Prez George W. Bush saying that? Can you imagine him saying, I will release 250 vioent Hezbollah terrorists to show my goodwill to Hezbollah against Al-Qaeda?
Well, that’s exactly what incompetent Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is doing of both his own accord and under U.S. pressure. He announced he will free 250 Palestinian terrorists as a “sign of goodwill” toward Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas.
Why is this man–Olmert–still in office? He has an approval rating even lower than that of President Bush–17%. He blew the war against Hezbollah. And he blew every other thing. And he’s the Vice Architect of the withdrawal from Gaza a/k/a HAMASastan. Well past time for his departure.
Beside being yet another incredibly obtuse Olmert movie, there is actually no way to determine that these are actually Fatah loyalists or those who might sympathize with and commit terrorism for HAMAS, once they get out.
Complete absurdity. Who ever said we–the United States–and Israel don’t negotiate with terrorists, is a liar. Both countries do, and this past week’s giant gladhanding of Fatah terrorists and their leader Holocaust-denier Mahmoud Abbas is proof positive of that.
The terrorist in the black headband (usually Fatah) is better than the terrorist in the green headband (usually HAMAS). Go figure. If ever there were a time for color blindness and common sense, this is it.
Almost 6 years ago, President Bush said “You’re either on our side or the terrorists’ side.” How quickly that pronouncement was thrown out the window.
In Hebrew, there is a word: “Shtut” (pronounced “shtoot”)or “Shtus” (pronounced “shtoos”). It has several similar meanings: madness, foolishness, silliness, stupidity.
But I have another definition: Israeli releases of terrorist prisoners. They are constant. They are one-sided. And they are Shtut.
Oh, and by the way, how did Palestinian Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas respond to this Shtut-esque show of “goodwill”? He responded:

We are still determined to work relentlessly to achieve the independence and the freedom of our people.

When a terrorist leader says that–even an arbitratily-designated “good” or “preferred” terrorist–you know what that means: more terrorism. “Relentless” is not a word generally used in conjunction with peace.

Is there a correlation? You’d better believe it. The airline bends over backward to please Muslims who broke the rules and whined about it. But when it comes to the rest of us who are good customers–and who, for now, still make up the majority of the dysfunctional airline’s customer base–fuhgedaboutit.

It’s not such friendly skies you’re flying when you’re on Northwest . . . unless you’re Muslim. No surprise that most of us stuck in a Northwest hub city call the airlines by its more appropriate name: NorthWORST.

For the first time ever, the U.S. dominates the top spots in the national draft for a major sports league, with U.S. born-and-raised athletes being drafted Numbers One and Two.
Unfortunately, it’s the least popular of the major sports with a dwindling fan base and ratings. Just ask FOX and ESPN, which dumped it, and NBC and OLN/Versus, which picked it up.
Still, Congrats Patrick Kane and James vanRiemsdyk. U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A!
