Today is the U.S. Army’s 232nd birthday. Happy Birthday!
That’s right, the Army is older than our country, founded on June 14, 1775, when soldiers banded together in the Continential Army, an all-volunteer force to fight for America’s independence in the Revolutionary War.
I am especially a fan of the Army because my Dad served in the Army during Vietnam and my Great Uncle Maurice was a career Army man who served during World War II and became head of Veteran’s Services for the South Pacific under the Veteran’s Administration.

I salute all of the U.S. Armed Forces. But, today–on the Army’s birthday–I salute all of our brave Army members, especially those serving in war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan. Read about U.S. Army military history. Also, read more about the U.S. Army’s Birthday.

Happy Flag Day, America. I am republishing my post from last year’s flag day because I think it is equally appropriate, this year:

Happy Flag Day, America! Proudly, we have the most beautiful flag of any nation in the world. Our flag has been through a lot, but it is still waving strong and free.

On this Flag Day, it’s auspicious that the U.S. Senate is just ONE vote short of banning flag burning. Just ONE. Is it your U.S. Senator?
Important to point out that Nemr Ali Rahal, a Detroit-area man convicted of bank fraud (he also engaged in credit card and mortgage fraud) to fund Hezbollah, proudly displayed in his home photos of himself and a friend burning the American flag. Funny how they never burn the Saudi flag, the Palestinian Authority flag, the HAMAS flag, or the Hezbollah flag.
Here are some interesting facts about the old Red, White and Blue:
* The flag was adopted by the U.S. as our official flag on June 14, 1777 by the Second Continental Congress.
* George Washington originally wanted six-pointed stars (like the Jewish Star) on the flag. But Betsy Ross convinced him to go with the five-pointed stars, according to the Detroit Free Press.
* Wearing the flag (like this jerk) is a violation of U.S. Code, Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 8(d), which states:

The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery.

Reader & Blogger Barry A. Popik alerts me that Arnold Schwarzenegger friend, Nazi War Criminal, former Austrian President, and former U.N. Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim died today at age 88, which was not soon enough.
Waldheim lived a long life full of achievements, while the many Jews he helped murdered had their lives cut short and died brutal deaths:

While serving with the German army in World War II, his unit was guilty of war crimes.
In 1987, after Waldheim was accused of participating in the deportation and killing of tens of thousands of Jews in Yugoslavia, the U.S. barred him from entering the country following a one-year investigation.

The U.S. inquiry found Waldheim “assisted in the smooth operation of a Nazi military organization which committed numerous and direct acts of persecution against Allied nationals and civilians,” according to the investigators’ 232-page report.

CIA files confirm that Waldheim was a Nazi intelligence officer for the Wehrmacht.

He had participated in Nazi atrocities during World War II. Waldheim had always maintained that he had served in the Wehrmacht [DS: known for its many brutal atrocities] only briefly and that after being wounded early in the war, he had returned to Vienna to attend law school. In fact, Waldheim had resumed military service after recuperating from his injury and had been an intelligence officer in Germany’s Army Group E when it committed mass murder in the Kozara region of western Bosnia. (Waldheim’s name appears on the Wehrmacht’s “honor list” of those responsible for the atrocity.) In 1944, Waldheim had reviewed and approved a packet of anti-Semitic propaganda leaflets to be dropped behind Russian lines, one of which ended, “enough of the Jewish war, kill the Jews, come over.” After the war, Waldheim was wanted for war crimes by the War Crimes Commission of the United Nations, the very organization he would later head.

Despite this, Arnold Schwarzenegger remained a great friend of Waldheim and even invited him to his and Maria Shriver’s wedding. Waldheim, of course, couldn’t come because he was on the no-fly list due to his Nazi criminal past. When Schwarzenegger opened the gift Waldheim sent him, he praised Waldheim to shocked guests. (Hmmm . . . where was his liberal bride Maria in all this? Well, her mouth never opened to condemn Waldheim.)

My friends don’t want me to mention Kurt’s name, because of all the recent Nazi stuff and the U.N. controversy, but I love him and Maria does too, and so thank you, Kurt.

Today’s Wall Street Journal finance section reports that Dubai’s government investment arm, Istithmar, is finalizing a purchase of Barney’s New York, the luxury goods retailer that was founded by Jews and has locations nationwide. The paper also notes that Loehmann’s, the designer clothing discounter also founded by Jews, is partially owned by Istithmar. As I’ve noted before, Loehmann’s was previously owned by Arcapita a/k/a First Islamic Investment Bank (the Saudi-owned, Bahraini-based extremist investment company which owns Caribou Coffee and about which I’ve written extensively).

As I’ve noted on this site so many times, Dubai practices anti-Semitic apartheid. It officially and openly engages in the Arab Boycott of Israel. Israelis, those with a stamp from Israel on their passport, and most Jews cannot enter Dubai. And the governments of Dubai and its confederation–the United Arab Emirates–have openly sponsored speeches and books by Holocaust deniers and those who endorse anti-Semitic and anti-American conspiracy theories.
Just say no to Islamist hate. Just say not to anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, and anti-American hate.
And just say no to Barney’s and Loehmann’s.
Not that most of my readers shop at Barney’s anyway. I mean, who wants to spend $400 on a designer T-shirt? But Loehmann’s–which features a lot of designer bargains–should now be off-limits to your pocketbook, too.
What ever happened to the good old days . . . when the Japanese owned everything (including Barney’s)?

One word: PUH-LEEZE.

A few questions:
* Uh, what does “Barack me tonight” mean? Just curious. Does Michelle Obama–and more important, the Secret Service detail–know about this woman? What would it mean if she sang, “You can Hussein me tonight?” (Beatings, rape, and torture, likely.)
* This video, created by [insert ethnicity here] American Princess, Leah Kauffman (she calls herself “Obama Girl”)–a 21-year-old Temple University student–is very slickly produced. The star is a model–Amber Lee (high quality stripper name) Ettinger–lip-synching to professionally sung lead and background vocals. (Background about this video here.)
So who paid for this, and how much did they pay? Yes, how much did Daddy Kauffman pay for this, and was it listed–as required–as an in-kind contribution to B. Hussein Obama’s campaign? Sure looks like it exceeds the $3,400 federal limit.
* So, can we look forward to Republicans doing this? Thankfully, no. Somehow, I don’t think the “Sluts for McCain” or “Sluts for Giuliani” tack would work.
Methinks Ms. Kauffman and her Daddy forgot about the gender gap–that women are the ones pushing Hillary to the top of Democratic polls. This video–complete with B. Hussein Obama Blow-Up Doll–ain’t gonna help change that.

It’s not exactly the . And it’s not exactly the U.S. beating Japan in World War II.
But, today, America can take solace that we’ve retaken the Nathan’s hot dog eating contest from Japan. On June 2, America’s Joey Chestnut set a new world hot dog eating record of 59.5 hot dogs consumed in 12 minutes defeating Japan’s Takeru Kobayashi, who held the previous world record 53.75 hot dogs in 12 minutes (last year). That’s almost 5 hot dogs per minute. Kobayashi wasn’t competing in this particular contest. But a record’s a record. And Chestnut beat his.

Why are we losing in Iraq and Afghanistan? Because we don’t want to win. Don’t believe me. Read this vomit-inducer by columnist David Ignatius from Sunday’s Washington Post (thanks to Dissecting Leftism):

Improvised Explosive Defeat?
The photographs gathered by The Post each month in a gallery called Faces of the Fallen are haunting. The soldiers are so young, enlisted men and women mostly, usually dressed in the uniforms they wore in Iraq and Afghanistan. What’s striking is that most of them were killed by roadside bombs known as improvised explosive devices, or IEDs. . . .

The insurgents who kill our young soldiers are ruthless, but we have sometimes been cautious in our response. Take the question of targeting bomb makers: There may be an unlimited supply of explosives in Iraq, but there is not an unlimited supply of people who know how to wire the detonators. In 2004, CIA operatives in Iraq believed that they had identified the signatures of 11 bomb makers. They proposed a diabolical — but potentially effective — sabotage program that would have flooded Iraq with booby-trapped detonators designed to explode in the bomb makers’ hands. But the CIA general counsel’s office said no. The lawyers claimed that the agency lacked authority for such an operation, one source recalled.
There are technologies that would allow us to detonate every roadside bomb in Iraq by heating the wires in the detonators to the point that they triggered an explosion. But these systems could severely harm civilians nearby, so we’re not using them, either.

And David Ignatius, the author of this, is a liberal, NOT a conservative.
If this was our attitude going in, we should have stayed home.

Details of a foiled double suicide attack in Netanya and Tel Aviv were released for publication Wednesday afternoon. Two Palestinian women were arrested last month at the Erez Crossing. They admitted to have planned to carry out a double suicide attack in Netanya and Tel Aviv. Both women are mothers of children and one of them is also pregnant.
The Islamic Jihad is the organization that sent the two women to commit the attacks in a restaurant, a wedding hall or a location with a concentration of IDF soldiers.

* Article Two:

The Shin Bet security service announced Wednesday that it had successfully foiled a double suicide attack on Tel Aviv and Netanya, planned by the Islamic Jihad.
The Shin Bet said they had arrested two women from the Gaza Strip, who were slated to carry out the attacks.
The two women, both mothers to young children, were arrested at the Erez crossing from Gaza into Israel on May 20 as they were trying to enter Israel.
Fatma Yunes Hassan Zak, 39, a resident of Gaza, mother of eight children and pregnant with her ninth, had been responsible for an Islamic Jihad Gaza women’s labor office for four years. She had been in contact with Islamic Jihad terrorists and coordinated contacts on their behalf with women who had volunteered to be suicide bombers.
Approximately three months ago, her niece, Ruda Ibrahim Yunes Haviv, 30, a resident of Gaza and mother of four children, sought her assistance in perpetrating a suicide attack. Zak, who decided to participate in the attack as well, contacted her Islamic Jihad liaison, who aided the two women in putting their plan into operation.
Haviv requested the Israeli authorities’ permission to travel to Ramallah, falsely claiming she needed to undergo medical tests. Zak was supposed to accompany her to the fabricated treatment in Ramallah.
The Shin Bet maintains that the two were due to meet with an Islamic Jihad militant in Ramallah, who was supposed to give them explosive belts and take them to the the locations of the planned attacks.

Conservative columnist Robert Novak–long referred to as the “Prince of Darkness” in the Washington press corps–cited Julie L. Myers a/k/a “The ICE Princess” in his weekly nationally syndicated column as the symbol of why President Bush has lost prestige and respect among his dwindling Republican base:

Republican insiders who complain about Bush filling mid-level government vacancies with “children” cite a classic case. The President in September 2005 named Julie L. Myers, then 36 years old, to head U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She has never been confirmed, amid bipartisan agreement that she lacks the five years of management experience required by statute.
Myers is serving on a recess appointment.

For the record, I’m no fan of Bob Novak. While he is usually on target regarding domestic and social issues, he is a self-hating former Jew who is such a supporter of extremist Muslims that he once said on CNN’s “Crossfire” (which he then hosted) that he is a HAMAS supporter.
But regarding The ICE Princess, The Prince of Darkness is right on. As is the rest of his column, this week. I guess it takes a fake Prince to call out a self-anointed Princess.
Julie Myers is the symbol of Bush incompetence and worse. She is the poster child for why we have lost respect for this man. No, the symbol of how this man has squandered any respect he had. 20 million illegal aliens in our midst and counting.
The ICE Princess is the symbol of a lot that is wrong with this Administration. 18 months to go–counting down the minutes.
