Spurred by Schlussel Readers, Jimmy Carter’s Fake “Apology” to Israel, Jews to Aid Grandson’s Ambitions

By Debbie Schlussel

**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****

Recently, I told you about Jimmy Carter’s grandson, Jason Carter, and his plans to run for the Georgia Legislature from a State Senate district with a significant Jewish population.  I also wrote about how he refused to answer questions regarding Israel and HAMAS–his grandfather’s pan-Islamist politics–claiming those issues aren’t relevant to his race.  But, as I noted, they are relevant, because now is the time to stop him before he runs for federal office and becomes as friendly with HAMAS as his annoying grandfather.

Crocodile Tears:

HAMAS’ Jimmuh Issues Fake Israel Apology to Help Grandson Jason Carter

Some DebbieSchlussel.com readers who live in DeKalb County, Georgia and are potential future constituents of his contacted Jason Carter, at my suggestion, and asked him about his view on HAMAS and Israel.  I told the readers, though, that I don’t believe his response, no matter what it is, because his grandfather, Jimmuh, was extremely pro-Israel when he ran for President against Gerald Ford.  In fact, he ran to the right of Ford on many issues, domestic and foreign, including Israel.

Well, apparently, the news has gotten to his crotchety old HAMAS- and Hezbollah-lovin’ granddaddy, because Jimmy Carter issued an obviously fake apology to the Jews and Israel that is not only phony, but nothing less than sheer politics designed to help rescue his grandson’s political ambitions. Carter now says–after years of Israel-hatred and propagandizing–that he wants our forgiveness.  Sorry, Jimmuh, only G-d can forgive you.  And, sad for you, sometimes the sins of the fathers are visited on their descendants.

I had planned to found something called No Peanuts PAC to  oppose Jason Carter.  I was looking into Georgia campaign finance law and whether there are restrictions on non-Georgia political donations in the case of state elective offices.  And I may still pursue this.

Rest assured, though, Jimmy Carter’s fake apology was spurred on by you, dear readers, who contacted (grand) Son of Jimmuh.  And it’s as real as crocodile tears.

You can trust “Jasuh” as much as I trust Jimmuh.  As in, not at all.  I neither believe, nor accept, Jimmy Carter’s “apology.”  And you shouldn’t either.

Reader “I Am Me” adds:

Carter is lying, I cannot determine if his lie is funny (laughing at him) or pathetic.  This sort of reminds me of when the first President Bush, after realizing his re-election chances were doomed, tried to apologize for his “one little man” comment regarding then-Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir and the loan guarantees.

Exactly.

Timing is everything.  And this apology is all about grandsonny’s future career.  Not any change of heart on Israel.  You don’t write a gazillion anti-Israel, lie-filled books and engage in propaganda meetings and strategy with top HAMAS and Hezbollah terrorist leaders, and then say “Oh, I made a mistake.”  Not with any sincerity.

And there’s none here.

It’s a trite saying, but I’ll say it anyway:  He can take it and shove it.  Save your fertilizer for someone’s peanut farm or Hezbollah pot field, Jimmuh.  It won’t make anything grow here.

**** UPDATE: Reader “Common Sense” writes:

I have one comment regarding Carter’s alleged “apology”: If he’s really sincere, then he should do the following:

1. Publically admit that his book Palestine: Peace not Apartheid is a propagandistic screed, filled with inaccuracies and falsehoods, intended to vilify Israel and support the Palestinian cause.

2. As a consequence of #1, Carter should repudiate this book and send all profits resulting from its sales to Israeli charities which help the victims of Palestinian attacks, both military (e.g. rockets launched into Israel from Gaza, Lebanon, etc.) and personal (e.g suicide bomber activity).

3. He should apologize for all his past and present efforts to legitimize terrorist entities such as Hamas, and acknowledge that to regard Hamas as a prospective “peace partner” is an absurdity.

I would demand even more, but I know that Carter will do none of the above, so what’s the point?

His grandson, Jason, on the other hand, should be subjected to relentless questioning concerning his views on Israel and other geopolitical issues despite his objections. Voters have a right to ask such questions, as one may reasonably assume that the younger Carter is likely to have political aspirations that would propel him into the House or Senate sometime in the future. It would be good to have his views on record now, for future reference. If he continues to dodge such questioning, this, too, should be noted, and made public should he seek such office at a later date.

Amen. Right on target.

ANY time anyone say words to the effect, “IF I did ANYTHING that MAY have offended you…” that is not a sincere apology. It is a hedge and as the Catholics say, mental reservation. He appears to be caring and concerned without taking any responsibility for the pain and suffering and therefore cannot be held liable. Lots of Jews in DeKalb but it’s where a good part of the most Orthodox live in Atlanta. I used to be one of them.

mk750 on December 23, 2009 at 5:44 pm

Sadly, it will probably work, since more than 3/4 of Jewish voters supported Obama. From my contacts with Jewish voters, not many of them regret their vote. They’re all hepped up about health care and global warming.

Little Al on December 23, 2009 at 6:11 pm

I totally agree with your position on this Debbie.

VHI on December 23, 2009 at 6:22 pm

I’ll accept his apology when he’s six feet under and burning in hell.

perception of truth on December 23, 2009 at 6:26 pm

Whats next Chelsea Clinton for President?

seahawker on December 23, 2009 at 6:40 pm

Agree with Debbie that Carter is, once again, lying. But I also agree with Little Al regarding his lie’s viability. The Jewish vote in this nation continues to be an utter disgrace.

Debbie…Keep up the good work. Saints preserve us from another Carter “malignancy” in our body politic.

joesixpack31 on December 23, 2009 at 7:06 pm

We have never nor will we ever do or say anything at all which offends or in any way compromises a long standing relationship, which we will forever endure until liberalism collapses wholesale, which we anticipate will happen very shortly…

Official Carter Apologist on December 23, 2009 at 7:49 pm

From the JTA I read Carter’s letter. Sooo, where was “the apology”? He began nearly every sentence with “I hope.” And his “hoping” was as ambiguously worded as anything one reads from HAMAS or Hezbollah — that is, “we condemn the taking of innocent lives” (which translates to: “We condemn Israel for killing our Jihadist Terrorist Leaders.”) What Carter does not do is express contrition or any remorse. He just “hopes”. Yeah, well, words are cheap, and imo, he hasn’t even touched on all the damage he has wrought. And, as Debbie points out, it’s transparently obvious why he’s suddenly so “hopeful” — that’s to get the Jewish vote for his grandson. How pathetic.

Another excellent post, Debbie. 🙂

Lairs lie to achieve their goal(s). Jimmy Carter lies when he needs to do so. Sure, he offered an apology…another lie! This is when we could use a case of beer to take to Plains and have a little sit down with his late brother Billy. After about two six packs Billy should be able to tell us what we need to confirm.

RJ on December 23, 2009 at 9:02 pm

don’t need to take it with us, RJ. Billuh had his own beer, remember? Probably a warehouse of the undrinkable stuff down there someplace.

    mk750 on December 23, 2009 at 10:23 pm

I doubt there’s much Billy Beer left down there.

But you can bid for some on EBay.

Warning: do not try tasting decades old beer. You’ll be sorry!

Shy Guy on December 24, 2009 at 12:03 am

Why don’t those fools realize that if he were sincere, he would not just apologize to them, but go public with his change of heart and start taking positive constructive ACTION to reverse the damage he’s done? …because just saying you are sorry isn’t enough, especially when one continues to act in a bad way. Alas, we are often our own worst enemy.

Shy Guy on December 24, 2009 at 12:03 am

Maybe we could use it for target practice? It would be a sin to waste drinkable beer for that, but I would have no problem shooting at his yellow snow.

yonason on December 24, 2009 at 12:32 am

President Carter has spent most of his life pretending to be what he really wasn’t.

    Worry01 on December 24, 2009 at 1:00 am

What exactly was he “apologizing” for? For what he said/did or that someone’s feelings got hurt? Because if it’s the latter – and I believe it is – then he’s not admitting that he said/did anything wrong, only that someone’s feelings got hurt. “Your daughter is ugly.” A.) I apologize for calling your daughter ugly; she’s not. Or, B.) I apologize for calling your daughter ugly. That made her feel bad and I shouldn’t have said it . . . but she really is ugly.

Fortunately, no one in America except the media cares about Jimmy Carter at all. I only dread the day when he dies and there’ll be this national media fawning and mourning. We saw it in the hosannas to the fat, drunken, misogynist, murderous Ted Kennedy.

I’d like to apologize for that last comment.

gmartinz on December 24, 2009 at 1:32 am

Money Whore. Watch Obama for the same. Cut of the same cloth.

pat on December 24, 2009 at 1:38 am

Good job, Debbie. These neo-lib anti-Semitic freaks make me sick.

DS_ROCKS! on December 24, 2009 at 3:33 am

I agree with the author that Carter’s apology is weak at best.

On the other hand, his past criticism of Israel is almost as weak. It only stands out because so few in the US are willing to say the obvious truth: Israel is a nation that kills to steal land, and the vast majority of its citizens participate in that killing, even if they are not trigger pullers.

RichP on December 24, 2009 at 5:33 am

Richie: Go the the Religion of Peace website. You are wrong, idiot.

    Occam's Tool on July 28, 2011 at 4:57 pm

1st> if jimmuh carters grandson was not running no “apology would ever be made”
2nd> hopefully the voters in dekalb county realize this and do not vote for him unfortunately knowing the way the jewish votes go all you have to do is say your sorry and they will vote for him thats what jimmuh is hoping for.
3> richp kiss my ass all israelis want is to live in peace they have given up so much land and all they want is to be recognize and be able to which no one in that area will do. i can c an idiot like u voting for carter.

slickwilliejihad on December 24, 2009 at 9:45 am

doesn’t the grandson remind you of Howdy Doody?

sam on December 24, 2009 at 9:54 am

RichP, that was a lotta rich pee in your post. Indeed.

Shy Guy on December 24, 2009 at 10:21 am

Carter’s financial lifeline has been hooked to muslim middle east interests for decades. As Jimmy’s lifelong book of deeds comes to a close, these enemy philanthropists will require another political hack for their nefarious interests. Grandson Carter’s political launch is going to cost some bucks in addition to his unfortunate name recognition . . .Follow the money and smell the shawarma.

wtd on December 24, 2009 at 12:24 pm

RichP, you are an anal orifice if you expect Israelis to commit national suicide just to give you and your ilk a wet dream. Israelis will do what they perceive as necessary, in order to survive. If you and your habibi don’t like that, kindly note the mistletoe on my coattail.

Susuu on December 24, 2009 at 2:15 pm

[Sesuu – If you and your habibi don’t like that, kindly note the mistletoe on my coattail.]

What a line!!!!!!

I_AM_ME on December 24, 2009 at 2:45 pm

Do RichP, Carter and their type ever aware that killing Jews is mandated by the blood-crazed Allah?

Sahih Bukhari Hadith Volume 4, Book 52, Number 176: Narrated by ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar: Allah’s Apostle said, “You (i.e. Muslims) will fight with the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will (betray them) saying, ‘O ‘Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.'”

You are dealing with muslim robots who believe everything they supposed is coming from their blood thirsty Allah including killing infidel Jews.

RichP and Carter are imbalanced idiots who close their eyes on every killing and rampages Muslim robots did, but condemned every actions of Israel including a self defense. If I am Jew and have any power, I would make Gaza inhabitable for many many years to come. With that you don’t have to deal with another barrage of rockets or another Shalid Gilat case. Human right only apply when you are dealing with sane human whose reasoning is still working. For those robots animal in human form who believe killing Jews is the highest form of Allah worship, you are an idiot to play by human right rule.

That said, I am aware that there’s peace loving muslims, but have we ever heard them condemn their throat slitting muslim brothers?

Dear Debbie:

I thought Jimmy Carter’s apology was so weak that it hardly resembled an apology.

His actual apology states:

“As I would have noted at Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, but which is appropriate at any time of the year, I offer an Al Het for any words or deeds of mine that may have done so,”

MAY have done so? That’s not an admission of guilt. Moreover, it appears that Jimmy Carter hasn’t listened to his critics, some of who were supporters of his Presidential campaigns and colleagues in both his White House and other endeavors.

To make matters worse, Jimmy Carter prefaces his apology with this:

“We must recognize Israel’s achievements under difficult circumstances, even as we strive in a positive way to help Israel continue to improve its relations with its Arab populations, but we must not permit criticisms for improvement to stigmatize Israel,”

Who the heck is “WE”! Who is the “we” he says “strive in a positive way to help Israel continue to improve its relations with its Arab populations”? Jimmy Carter didn’t try to help Israel. He knowingly aided and assisted those who seek Israel’s destruction. He kowingly aided and assisted those here in America who seek to alienate, marginalize, demonize and disenfranchise American citizens (Jewish and otherwise) who support Israel. Moreover, he knows it; yet failed to mention it.

I once asked Alex Safian (Sr. Reserarcher for CAMERA): “Why does CAMERA’s documentary ‘The Case for Israel’ spend so much time on Jimmy Carter?” Alex replied: “Because every time Jimmy Carter writes a book demonizing Israel, it makes the New York Times bestseller list.”

I find this so-called apology too weak to accept. And frankly, this kind of apology led me to believe that Jimmy Carter may have been recently informed that his days on this earth are numbered. Your thesis that he’s trying to cover for a grandchild entering politics is quite viable. That would explain why the apology lacked any substantial admission of guilt.

There is NO Santa Claus on December 25, 2009 at 2:20 pm

Carter is a twisted parasitic worm. The Carters of the world insult us, abuse us, hurt us, and then smile and expect us to forgive them and help them do more of the same. It is so sad to see Jews STILL falling for such transparent lies after all these millenia. I used to wonder when reading about the behavior of Jewish traitors and/or fools of the past, thinking “How could anyone behave like that?” I didn’t think it was very realistic. Hah! Silly me.

yonason on December 27, 2009 at 9:18 pm

You are insane if you think Jimmy should apologize. His facts were correct and backed up by history. If you were offended, then you are misinformed or don’t want to admit the truth. For years, Israeli leaders that have not agreed with the majority have been condemning the actions of the majority. Information from Israeli leaders that were in the minority was the basis for many of the facts in his book. Instead of generalizing about the incorrect information in the book, please do some research and “show” Jimmy where he was wrong.
