Yesterday, President Bush announced the nomination of U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy III a/k/a “Abu Porno” to a Federal Judgeship in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
I’ve repeatedly detailed on this site how Murphy allowed Hezbollah financiers from the Hammoud and Chahine families to leave the country, then indicted them once they were conveniently out of reach. I’ve written about how Murphy has the worst record of prosecuting terrorists of any U.S. Attorney in the country. I told you how his tight friendship with Islamic terrorism financiers is so tight that, last month, he had to recuse himself and his entire office from the prosecution of Saddam spy Muthanna Al-Hanooti of HAMAS/Al-Qaeda charity, LIFE for Relief and Development, with whose officers Murphy is close.
I’ve also detailed how Murphy repeatedly praised Ayatollah Khomeini’s former Navy imam, and clapped vigorously when the Imam said, “What’s going on in the South of Lebanon [Hezbollah], that’s not terrorism. That’s legitimate resistance.” At the same gathering, Murphy stated he was unsure why Hezbollah was on the State Department Terrorist List and that it was merely a “humanitarian group that builds hospitals and orphanages.”
Murphy stated that he came to this conclusion about Hezbollah while lunching with his good friend, Osama Siblani, publisher and owner of the Arab American News. As I’ve noted on this site, Siblani was identified as an American agent of Hezbollah by the Kuwaiti newspaper, Al-Seyassah.
But last month was a new low for Siblani and his paper (which is believed to be subsidized by Hezbollah). The paper–which practices Arafatian deception in publishing one set of “moderate” articles in English and another set of pro-terrorist ones in Arabic–published a glowing, Arabic tribute, pictured below, to Ahmad Al-Balboul, head of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade terrorist group and the man who planned the shooting murder of eight kids at the Yeshivat Merkaz HaRav school in Jerusalem. Al-Balboul was killed in March by Israeli counterterrorism agents.
Siblani was asked to and did post this tribute to terrorist leader Al-Balboul by his terrorist family. So, you see, Siblani uses his newspaper as a messenger for Islamic terrorist groups all over, not just his own Hezbollah. And this terrorist messenger–encouraging terrorists to keep on keepin’ on–is the confidant of Bush’s latest federal bench nominee. Splendid.
Here is the English language translation of what Siblani–future Judge Murphy’s friend–wrote in his newspaper:

Their martyrdom affects all the Arab and Islamic Nations and condolences came from Lebanon and other Arabic countries to the families of the murdered.
To all our innocent martyrs and to all Lebanon martyrs and to all the people of Islamic and Arabic nations forever glory.

This is the “work” of Osama Siblani, friend of Bush’s current U.S. Attorney and choice for federal judge.

The men pictured, above, with a smiling Murphy are (from left) Murphy’s close personal friends Siblani, publisher of the openly pro-homicide bomber Arab American News (which proudly supports, HAMAS, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, and Louis Farrakhan). The taller man standing in the back is Shereef Akeel, a lawyer for Islamic terrorist groups and charities. Beneath him and to Murphy’s right is “former” Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist Imad Hamad. To Murphy’s left is Noel Saleh, who openly stated that he gave money to Hezbollah. Saleh is an ACLU attorney who filed the lawsuits challenging the Patriot Act and NSA wiretapping. The are pictured at their monthly love-fest at Murphy’s office.
Write and call the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to tell them what you think of President Bush’s “stellar” choice for the Federal Bench.
Remember how they told us the reason to vote for Bush was his judicial nominees? They lied.

I am glad you are keeping the lights on this idiot, Mr. Siblani. How this man gets taken seriously as a legitimate “news” publisher of the “Arab American News” is mind blowing. Last week I caught on their web site a story posted as an anti-Israel op ed–it seemed like total BS. I checked the source and sure enough, the woman cited as the author of a current op ed story had died 8 years ago. Siblani will reach for any bottom of the barrel thing he can to defame Israel and to advance Hizbollah and Hamas terrorists as though they are legitimate. It is shameful and he is shameless.
As you point out–he and Mr. Murphy are a match made in hell.
