Arkansas’ Democrat Guv Doesn’t Get It

By Debbie Schlussel
Although local and state politicians nationwide are finally cracking down on illegal aliens, since Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) “leadership” won’t, there are some boneheaded politicians that just don’t get it. And it will hurt them at the polls.
One of those is Arkansas’ Democrat Governor Mike Beebe, who pretends he’s tough on illegal aliens, but really isn’t. He’s opposing an important statewide ballot initiative that would get tough on illegal aliens and stop them from taking away state services from taxpaying Arkansas citizens. Dumb move:

Gov. Mike Beebe says that he “cannot support” a ballot measure that would require government agencies to verify that everbody seeking public benefits in the state is a legal U.S. resident.

Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe Opposes Crackdown on Illegal Aliens

Governor Mike Beebe says that he opposes a ballot measure that would require government agencies to verify that everbody seeking public benefits in the state is a legal U.S. resident. . . .
A group called Secure Arkansas is gathering signatures to place the proposal on the November ballot. . . .Jeannie Burlsworth, a chairwoman for Secure Arkansas, says she disagrees with the governor and believes the measure would help strengthen existing law. She said she was disappointed that Beebe was unwilling to lead on the issue of illegal immigration. She said a government agency asking for proof of citizenship is not increased bureaucracy, it’s just common sense.

I’ve already written about how cancer treatments for the indigent are in danger at certain Texas hospitals because illegal aliens are overloading the system. That will happen, in time, in Arkansas, if this measure doesn’t pass.
Similar initiatives have passed overwhelmingly in most localities where they’ve been on the ballot. And those who opposed them didn’t win election or re-election.

He, he, he should try entering and living in Mexico or another country and see what will happen to him! Whether they will allow it!

He should try entering and living in Mexico ILLEGALLY and see what will happen to him!
No country in the WORLD allows ILLEGAL settlements.
Yet, this is what is DEMANDED of the U.S.!

This seems to be a common failing among almost all our nationally elected politicians, Republican or Democrat, the media, and the rest of the elite in general. Hopefully more local initiatives like the one you describe will be implemented and withstand court challenges.

No Arkansas governor can be tough on illegal aliens. Why? Tyson Foods, that’s why.

well, of course, the Gov of our “agricultural” state will not, and does not, support any type of crackdown on illegals. He will not allow the Arkansas State Police to participate in the 287g program. Remember, Arkansas is the home of Wal-Mart, Tyson, George’s, Petit Jean meats, etc., and all of the growers that go with those that are so in favor of open-borders, for obvious reasons. Additionally, our agri-farms are large and some of our Senators family’s own large agri-farms. Look at the farm bill that Sen. Blanche Lincoln just worked so hard to pass – and will benefit from. We are a strong demorat state, except for us Yankees here in the Northwest part of the state which is strong Republican. Don’t you worry, though, we will work hard to get this initiative on the ballot and let the good people of Arkansas do what our spineless reps refuse to do so. The Arkansas media is staunchly pro-illegal – so we constantly have to fight that too.

An armed rebellion (aka 2nd American Revolution) is the only thing left to safe this nation. The politicans have NO reason to listen to the American people. We are nothing more than pawns on a game board.
