Detroit Teachers on 9/11: “Kids Need to Know Why the World Hates Us”

By Debbie Schlussel

We already know that kids all over the U.S. are ignoramuses spouting idiocy about 9/11 because they’ve been taught political correctness, NOT the truth about what happened on 9/11 and–more importantly–WHO DID IT.  I’ve already noted that even the kids of 9/11 victims (or, rather, the ones NBC chose to promote) are lecturing us about “innocent Muslims” and other bullcrap.  Because that’s what their parents and their schools and teachers have taught them–revisionist history.

Today’s Detroit Newsistan and its ignorant, pan-Muslim “reporter,” Michael H. Hodges (who has a record of lying and whitewashing when it comes to Muslims) tells us about Detroit-area students and what their teachers plan to teach them about what happened ten years ago Sunday.  Sadly, it’s not just about pandering to Muslims and whitewashing their and their religion’s role in the 9/11 attacks.  It’s about hating America–yes, the usual tripe about how our  foreign policy in the Middle East and other crap made us “deserve it.”

Take Scott Kuschel, head of the social studies department at swanky private Catholic boys high school, Brother Rice.  And teacher Gregory Evans from the Detroit Publick Skoolz’ Bates Academy.  They are apparently getting their lesson plans from Al-Jazeera . . . or the crappy Bin Laden mansion in Pakistan.

At Brother Rice, Kuschel — who teaches history and government — will focus on what the attacks did to American society and constitutional freedoms. “It’s important to understand who did this to us and why. Kids want to know why we’re resented abroad.”

Kuschel said he’ll look for a good, short video for students to watch, and then have them write responses to questions he poses online. Having had to focus their thoughts, those answers will provide the grist for in-class discussions.

Gregory Evans teaches seventh-grade geography at Bates Academy in the Detroit Public Schools. Since his students are younger — and because Evans remembers his own fears during the Cold War — he doesn’t want to alarm them. But he does think it’s important they understand how American policies affect people overseas, “and how our good intentions aren’t always perceived as good.”

Yes, apologists like these two jerks populate schools across America, poisoning your kids’ and grandkids’ minds and blaiming America.

Ten years later, it’s amazing we still have people spouting this “here’s why they hate us” BS.  What we need to be asking is “why don’t we hate them” yet.  3,000 Americans, the Fort Hood massacre, the Underwear and Times Square bombers, multiple other failed attempts that might have succeeded. All done by Muslims. And these “teachers” are still using the same old excuses for it all.

Until we learn to hate our enemies and treat them in kind, we will continue to lose the battle.  Not just on the involuntary battlefields like the twin towers and the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field.  But willingly and insidiously throughout our culture and our society.

We are already losing that battle and have for ten years.

Seventy years ago we weren’t wasting times and minds asking and telling kids why the Nazis hated us. We spent the time hating and defeating them.

And that’s why we’ll never defeat these jihadists or their sister and brother Muslims who pose an equally sinister Islamic threat.

If we are so hated, how come so many Arab scum and hundreds of millions of others try to get here? In fact, why don’t millions clammer to get into Saudi Arabia? Egypt? Lebanon? Pakistan?

Mr. Rogers: Today’s word is “Horseshit?” Kids, do you know what that means? That is what a left wing radical spouts to poison your minds against America, and your culture.

Jonathan E. Grant on September 9, 2011 at 5:23 pm

Jonathan, the primary reason is M O N E Y. There are plenty of immigrants who don’t like Americans, but they love our MONEY.

Remember, money not only buys Islamists a nice lifestyle, it also affords them the opportunity to “send money home” to terrorists. Where do you think a lot of the money comes from to pay for all the weapons Hamas,Hezbollah, etc. has?

Immigration both illegal and legal is out of control. Many immigrants besides Muslims don’t like Americans. Have you been to a surly Korean grocer lately?

Scott on September 9, 2011 at 6:05 pm

“Kuschel said he’ll look for a good, short video for students to watch, and then have them write responses to questions he poses online.”

How about they show the kids the movie “Flight 93″ and speak to/ask questions of those who lost loved ones on 9/11/2001? In fact, if they want to show a short video to the students, why don’t they show the video of what happened to the twin towers on that day and what was happening down on the ground… unedited. That would be a novel idea.

“Kids want to know why we’re resented abroad.”

Want to know why? We don’t nor have we had a true leader/president like President Ronald Wilson Reagan in the White House since he left office. Conservatives need to start focusing on the real threat we have in the next coming election and not on pandering to the democrat/”independent vote”. Reagan didn’t and he won by a landslide. The libs do not care about this country, its citizenry, or the US Constitution… just like the jihadists they pander to.

Pats on September 9, 2011 at 5:36 pm

Correction: The film suggestion should have been “United 93” and not “Flight 93”.

Pats on September 11, 2011 at 9:51 am

We should think about this when we review the Obama “jobs” bill, which seeks to hire more teachers and spend more construction money on “educational” facilities. We’d be better off if these teachers were laid off.

It took centuries to distort the traditions of Columbus Day, a couple of decades to distort MLK Day, and less than a decade to distort the meaning of 9/11. The pace of PC is accelerating.

Little Al on September 9, 2011 at 6:14 pm

If we’re hated, like Israel is hated. It’s because both nations represent a beacon of freedom. Our freedoms showcase the utter damnation of the despotic governments of the so-called ‘Muslim’ nations.

P. Aaron on September 9, 2011 at 6:44 pm

Explaining why Al-Qaeda hates America is not the same thing as saying that “America deserved it”. Educators should address all angles of this event rather than just the politically correct angles.

MC: Really? Then, I guess you believe that giving excuses for why a woman was raped isn’t the same as saying, “She deserved it.” Sorry, but it is the same. Exactly the same. DS

We’re apologizing for the perpetrators. And to my regret, a vicious anti-Semite is already doing it for them!

The worst Republican Presidential candidate, Ron Paul, feels that this is all our fault. Where we lost our pride I’ll never know.

      Occam's Tool on September 10, 2011 at 2:39 pm

Debbie, your rape analogy doesn’t accurately represent my argument. Perhaps I should have been clearer about what I mean. Analyzing the motive behind a crime is not the same as making excuses for the crime or justifying it.

Matthew Cole on September 15, 2011 at 12:02 pm

I’d say that it’s a good thing if we’re hated by people who believe in “honor” killings, beheadings, the chopping off of limbs for stealing, believing that death is preferable to life, have no problem with sending people (including children) into discos and pizza parlors as suicide bombers, and want everyone to live the way people did in the 6th Century. In fact, I’d be worried if we were liked by people like that. These “teachers” who are filling the brains of these children with perverse garbage should be dismissed. Maybe they can be provided with one of the “shovel-ready” jobs that Obama has promised.

Jeff on September 9, 2011 at 8:07 pm

It comes out as resenting or hating us but really it is envy. Even our “homeless” have it better here than most of the people living over there in huts/shacks with out running water or AC. When our poorest have cell phones and all the other free goodies just handed to them it does tend to upset some people.

I just can’t believe they still listen to their imams and leaders while living in shit. They catch a tv show like “cribs” and see just how well being the infidel has worked out for us must drive them crazy.

Ender on September 9, 2011 at 11:15 pm

I am confused…Debbie and her followers acknowledge that Muslims hate us. These teachers and their students are also acknowledging this hate, and are addressing it on a high school (private) and middle school (public) level, accordingly. Nowhere in the reporting above does it actually discuss a syllabus or any curriculum, so no one actually knows what the focus will be on.

And yet, these people are being blasted because DS and her followers know that the teachers and the students are not going to come up with the only answer DS and her followers will accept: that they hate us because they are blood thirsty savage Muslims incapable of anything other than hatred and breeding (and, I guess, breeding hatred).

I just find it absolutely fascinating that you all hate these teachers because they will never come to your conclusion, as expressed above.

EricG on September 9, 2011 at 11:40 pm

A school teacher (I’m a former one) should never be teaching, let alone touting, any philosophy; other than perhaps that of his/her own culture, as a means of conveying certain understandings of how to live or function within it.
An enemy, regardless of circumstance and the right or wrong of it, should never be given the consideration of being understood – only vanquished. Does that allay your ‘confusion’ somewhat?

shegundala on September 10, 2011 at 9:50 am

Contrarianism. If muslims were the majority here, the PCers would hate them, too. At the root of it all is a twisted self-hatred, a desire to tear down whatever is normal and mainstream.

David Lanham on September 10, 2011 at 2:56 am

The Detroit teachers, stupid as they are, either do not realize or do not care that this attitude of blaming ourselves for 9/11 also has an anti-semitic aspect to it.

Think about it — if we are responsible that the world hates us, isn’t Israel similarly responsible that the world hates them even more? The teachers, the media and the rest of them won’t come out and say it, but this is the clear inference.

Try to take your shots at a man like me you putz instead of being a cyber-bully and picking on a woman like the coward you really are.

Either stick to the topic or STFU and get lost for good! And more likely you’re one of these friggin muslims in this country who doesn’t want to name islam as the main culprit for the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks on 3,000 people in this country! And since you cursed my beautiful country, I would like to buy yourself a one way ticket and GET THE F**K out of my country you pathetic dumbass. Go back to the middle east where you came from and live under the ass-backwardness of sharia law where non-muslims are oppressed and treated as second to third class citizens, etc. And don’t get me started on how you assholes treat you’re own women and children in muslim states in the middle east!

    Warlord1958 on September 11, 2011 at 9:30 pm

They hate us because we are ‘kuffars’ – unbelievers in the psychopathic pedophile conman Mohammed.

“Islam is the only religion which is more obsessed with unbelievers than it is with its own followers. Muslims define their own identity solely in opposition to the Kuffar. Islamic accomplishments are so negligible that they have no positive cultural features with which they can identify. Hence the unceasing and implacable aggression toward civilized peoples and envy of their accomplishments. The development and deliberate cultivation of hatred is such a central feature of Islam that there is nothing that we Kuffars can do, or not do, that would make our univited guests hate us any less or any more.

Rage is so intrinsic to Islam that external events are irrelevant. Hatred of non-Moslems is the pivot of Islamic existence. Muslims are bound together by a shared and carefully nurtured animosity to ‘The Other’ developed from earliest childhood, which ignites a permanent fire of tension between Moslems and non-Moslems. Ever since Jihadists started immigrating into the West, we have become all too familiar with concepts such as ‘Killing the unbelievers wherever you find them’ and the tribal polarities of Dar al-Harb versus Dar al-Islam , Ummah versus Kuffar etc.”

Very little of the Koran is devoted to how to be a Muslim, the religion of Islam. Instead, the majority of the Koran is about kafirs, non-Muslims. Kafirs are the worst of the creation. Allah hates kafirs and plots against them. Kafirs can be tortured, murdered, robbed, raped and enslaved. The Koran is fixated on kafirs, as was Mohammed.” More …

Crombouke on September 10, 2011 at 11:33 am

My test of how far we’ve sunk is to apply a diametrical opposite curve to these kind of statements.

Hence if we applied this obvious barometer of a level playing field we could easily come up with an official posture of ‘9/11 kids need to know why we hate Muslims’.

Imagine that? The outcry. CAIR, ISNA and all the rest piling in with the wailing and whining desperately trying to beat the world record of how times ‘racist’ or ‘islamophobic’ will fit into one single paragraph.

Then the law suits. The palpable anger. The Obama intervention.

And so it goes. Not a bang. Not even the fabled whimper. Just come on in, the halal, shariah compliant water is just fine.

logdon on September 10, 2011 at 11:55 am

Dear Debbie,

I do not know what is happenning to the Roman Catholic Church. They are now spewing a lot of Mia Culpa about the Crusades and the that America did not take care of the poor Arabs. They must have gone crazy.

The problem with Arabs is that they are lazy and gangsters Mam.
They want to sit back and have women to F—. Do not do any work and fantacise about having a paradise which is virtually a brothel. This is the extent of their intellect. The Holy is going to open for them a brothel in Paradise when it would have been a lot easier if he have a casino for them in Las Vegas where you win sex instead of money.

The funniest part of this nonsense is that they believe this hallucination. The sad part about it is the shallowness of the American mentality in probing the Islamic culture.

Listen to this; Moslems have a firm belief that the Quoran contains the extract of wisdom and knowledge. So do not need need any other knowledge and what they have is more than enough. That is what Umar Ibn El-khattab said when they asked him about the Library of Alexandria. “If its contents are congruent with what we have in the Quoran then the Quoran is enough for us. If its contents are not congruent with the Quoran then we have no need for it.” And the contents of one of the most famous libraries in the world was used as fuel to heat water for the Arabs to bath in. After all the Arab was washed twice in his whole life; once when he is born and once when he dies as a ritual of burial. Then with their capacity to spew lies they claim that it was the Romans who burned down the Library. When will the Catholics and the Americans wake up only God knoes.

I’m reading a book on the Muslim land war that the US won decisively, and that should be the approach we are using today—the Phillipine Moro War, 1902-1913. It should be noted that the harem women were indecently dressed in public in the Phillipines, by the way.

But, here’s how the song went:

“Damn, damn, damn the Moros!
Cut throat khaki ladrones!
Underneath the starry flag,
Civilize them with a Krag,
And return us to our beloved home.”

This song was first noted by me in the great Tom Kratman’s Caliphate, a story of the 22nd Century, in which the US is locked in mortal combat with the Caliphate in a war which has lasted over a hundred years. Tom’s book is well worth reading, and no, I’m not Tom.

A: The radical Muslims want to kill us and the
moderate Muslims want the radical Muslims to

“Q: What’s the difference between a radical Muslim and a moderate Muslim?

A: The radical Muslims want to kill us and the moderate Muslims want the radical Muslims to kill us.”

That’s an interesting analogy bro, I was thinking, that if the moderate-muslims do speak out and condemn hamas, hezbollah, al-quida, etc. they would be called every stupid and childish word under the sun from CAIR and other muslim front groups/pressure groups in this country. I believe that’s a fact, but you bought up another point, it can also be that some of the moderate-muslims are encouraging the fanatics amongst them and that makes them more dangerous than the militant muslims. As I said a few weeks ago on another thread, if I was a muslim, I would be very vigilant amongst my fellow co-religionist and if Debbie Schlussel herself was a muslim, she to would be vigilant amongst her co-religionist!

‘Why don’t they like us’ for the same reason they’re killing Christians, Hindus and Jews in other parts of the world.

It would be interesting to hear the teacher’s comments on the following:
* If they don’t like the Americans why did they bomb the British on 7/7, don’t they like them either
* If they don’t like the Americans why did they bomb the Spanish, don’t they like them either
* If they don’t like the Americans why did they bomb Mumbai, don’t they like them either
*If they don’t like the Americans why do they continue to fire rockets at Israel and kill their children, don’t they like them either
*If they don’t like the Americans why was Van Gogh and Pim Fortuyn murdered in Holland, don’t they like them either
*If they don’t like the Americans why was the Danish artist, Kurt Westergaard’s life threatened because of a cartoon, don’t they like him either
*If they don’t like the Americans, why did the British author, Salman Rushdie have a fatwa on his head, don’t they like him either
*If they don’t like the Americans, why did the Somali/Dutch politician Aaayan Hirsi Magan Ali, take refuge in the USA, don’t they like her either
*If they don’t like the Americans why do they bomb their own people in mosques in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, doesn’t make sense does it
*If they don’t like the Americans why has the culture of terrorism invaded the private parts of people’s anatomy at airports, we don’t like that either
* One last question teacher, if they like their children why do they encourage suicide bombers, don’t they love them either

The educational service would be well served to have a frank and open debate on the contents of the Koran. It should be essential learning and no pussy-footing around with innuendos. Logic and reasoning should be at the fore front of education.

So teacher can you explain the meaning of Human Rights and Freedom of Speech, here and in the Middle East, no they won’t like that either.

Teacher, last week you told us ‘to love our neighbours as ourselves’, this is repeated 8 times in the Bible. Quite frankly I’m going to give this a miss. Our dog goes mad when he sees our neighbours dressed in black, moving like ghosts, and it’s not even Halloween.

We live in the nu-age of the absurd.

Great roll call Eyes! Your list made me ask myself what happened to that Molly woman who had to change her name and identity because she dared to orchestrate “Let’s All Draw Mohammed Day”.

She deeply regrets it. It is regretful she did not have DS’ knowledge before she toyed with the Mooooooslims.

When you have to practically be licensed in Islam 101 to do the dozens with them, that should tell you how deathly serious it is. And some serious knowledge must be known before one even tries.

That news stations keep the 9/11 footage under lock and key (except this time of year) and even now, they make the shows that request the footage explain how they are gonna use it.

PATS: I am wondering if anyone here remembers why that movie “Flight 93” was edited before it was shown and Hillary Clinton’s role in that.

You know, kids of America, why the world hates you and your country? It because of the American response after the september 11 attacks. It’s because of Iraq, Afghanistan, and earlier: because of Argentine, because of Vietnam. It’s because of your support of dictators such as Pinochet, or Mubarak. It’s because of the way America acts in the world like America owns the world. It’s because of American arrogance and studidity, and their blind belief that they know what is best for everyone, everywhere. It’s, mostly, an attitude problem.

Very interesting new study of “emerging adults.” Basically, it’s a train wreck.

They have absolutely no idea of moral and immoral, right and wrong. They are unable or unwilling to judge anyone, murderers included. For them, moral and individual relativism are the guiding principles. This is the result of educational indoctrination and parental apathy.

adam on September 11, 2011 at 11:51 am

Simone, some of our policies I do not agree with either, however, not a perfect world we live in. I would love to save the taxes I am paying to support Palestinians, Pakistanis, etc. who seek our destruction. If it were up to me, we would leave the middle east to its own devices, get ourselves energy independent (yesterday), and cut off all financial aid to muslim lands. I would make sure our immigration system were revamped, only letting in those who could improve our nation instead of sucking the funds and culture out of it, and continue to feed the starving in this world which we have done for decades. If only we could cut off the funding. You did not address why Spain, England, India, etc. have been bombed… Care to comment?

CJ on September 12, 2011 at 2:32 pm

Fifteen years ago I studied education. Back then, the books for teachers about teaching were all based on marxism. One day, I stood outside a classroom door and heard the teacher teaching hatered for America. I protested this education at the school and at the school board. Goals 2000, ilegally sponsered by the government sought promoters of Goals 2000 and the PTA members were to collect the names of those parents who opposed it.
I could see the future this would all bring and here we are today…everything I saw is now happening….I tried to inform people, but alas, no one wanted to hear about it….they all said I was crazy. It was back then that one of the many books I had read said that Hillary Clinton would win the Presidency in 2012. Now, rumblings of her running are surfacing.
The Republic is in grave danger.
