HILARIOUS Video: Post-Oprah Oprah Even More of a Crackpot

By Debbie Schlussel

I already knew that Oprah was a selfish New Age nutjob.  But now that everything around her is failing, she’s even more nutty than ever.  A total crackpot. Her “Master Class,” renamed “Life Class,” debuted Monday on her OWN network  (Oprah Winfrey Network a/k/a Only One Watcher Network).  The ads for this pretentious, arrogant show feature Oprah telling people that she will teach them how and what to think and how to live their lives.  Yup, even a more arrogant version of her arrogant, former talk show.  In case you need to know, Eckhart Tolle is some scam artist New Age snake oil salesman that hooked Oprah for life.  And all I can say from this hilarious clip of her advice is HUHHHHHH??????  Let me get out my psychobabble decoder.

Watch the whole thing for a quick laugh . . .

You are awareness disguised as a person. Frickin’ High-larious (with an emphasis on high).

Remember that millions of American woman listened to this whack job billionairess and hung on her every word. Only in America, where that saying about the birthrate of suckers was a vast underestimate.

Thanks for the video, Debbie.

In related news, Rosie O’Donnell is having her own show on the One Watcher Network (OWN). How appropriate–another whackjob having a show that will have only one watcher on a network that has only one watcher.

OWN seems to consist of an odd array of programming with little coherence. It is hard to build a network around your ego unless you have a captive audience. I just wonder when the money will run out and the cable companies dump this paean to vapidness? Its demographic sweet spot is probably those suffering from senile dementia who are parked in front of a television set at nursing homes.

ha haaah, comedy gold. If it wasn’t so really nutjob serious that people across the country follow this kind of carp I would like to see it on SNL. But SNL has sunk to mean spirited send-ups of those they hate politically.

Why are they – Oprah and Rosie – doing these money-pit shows? “THE VIEW” doesn’t need to be cloned.

Well that settles it, we need a whole new legal & gov system that recognizes the clear cut differences between one’s ‘true self’ versus the ‘ego self.’ If only our founding fathers had known about this.

Great video Deb, but I would rather watch the amateur porn. Oh my God! Don’t tell me Oprah was staring in that also to boost ratings AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

Koeteus on October 12, 2011 at 10:53 am

Actually saw an “O” magazine cover with rosie odonnell and oprah on the cover. Guess oprah figured sharing the cover with rosie would make her look better. It didn’t.

Sounds alot like Freud and Jung put in with snake oil. Oprah is a twit period (actually some thing worse but this is a family channel) I can hardly wait until her (and Obama’s ) empire falls all the way into the pit

Friggen’ Oprah. The Dirty Beeotch. Just what this narcissistic nation needs. Another narcissistic fool and her foolishness.

I didn’t even notice the “bug” in the corner for “Amateur Porn”. That’s right Hoprah…you can’t be a narcissist without being a complete and utter hypocrite. Sell out, shell out so the Prophet can profit!

Oprah has made herself into her own God. She worships herself. It is sad that people like her refuse to recognize the true God and condemn themselves to eternal damnation, all the while leading gullible people along with her.

It’s called “metacognition,” i.e., “thinking about thinking.” And it does not mean that your metacognition – in Oprah’s words: your awareness about thinking – is your true self or your authentic self. All it means is that humans are capable of self-consciousness, of observing their own thought processes. Next up: Oprah looks in a mirror and decides that her image is her true and authentic self. After that, she will mistake an image of Gayle in her rear-view mirroe for the true Gayle!

Sorry Deb – I’m not completely on board here. Eckhart Tolle has many helpful insights that eclipse most other latter-day and even modern-day self-proclaimed gurus. Even where his work illustrates rehashings, they’re usually very well communicated, and explain many other former attempts (by “snake oil” gurus) in palatable and easy-to-understand doses. I agree that it’s unfortunate that he chose The Lady Winfrey as one of his exponents (and I wouldn’t be surprised if he regrets it as well), but, that said, I would encourage everyone too become familiar with his work, by reading at least one of his books. Unless one goes in with his/her guard up, I’m quite sure that they will be glad that they did.

Yeah, I read one of Tolle’s books a few years ago. TOTAL CRAP!!!

One book I often find myself referring back to is the Bible. Over and over again. Maybe you should become familiar with this book too.

It’s easy to laugh at Oprah and minimize her intentions. Her mistake is attempting to simplify what is apparently simple, “metacognition” as Ken calls it. But this process of shifting the awareness is not an easy or practical thing to accomplish. People don’t do it ordinarily.

Most people are functioning from their ego level of awareness, the “I” which is absolutely necessary for survival. But the ego also makes a person angry when things don’t go their way or when they don’t get what they want when they want it.

Sometimes it’s helpful to have the ability to step back and see the bigger picture — that’s what Oprah is actually talking about. We know we are more than our egoistic desires and reactions and we can develop our minds to maintain that awareness.

She’s trying to be a meditation teacher, she should stick to show business.

Lol when you can’t understand complex metaphysical philosophies, mock them? Don’t you believe in the talking snake and 700 year old people?

Scrumtrilescant on October 12, 2011 at 4:44 pm

It is heeding the story of the deceiving talking serpent in the Bible that has taught many of us to be wary of falling to prey to modern times ‘snake-oil’ salesmen like Tolle and his acolyte Oprah.

Kairn on October 12, 2011 at 5:19 pm

I thought Oprah was nuts when she wrote in her book that she was so poor and lonely as a child that she made friends with two cockroaches that lived in her house. Well, according to the Daily Rash, those cockroaches have been found alive and well in Mississippi! http://www.thedailyrash.com/oprahs-childhood-cockroach-friends-melinda-and-sandy-found-alive-in-mississippi

“…complex metaphysical philosophies.”
Didn’t know self awareness was a “complex metaphysical philosophy.”
Don’t you believe in Global Climate change and Green Energy?

BilboBaggins on October 12, 2011 at 7:45 pm

Oprah read a “New Age” book. Now she thinks she is God. Obama and Oprah… egos bigger than all outdoors.

This is my first time at this site. Looking through, I’m sure that my views are different from what this site represents.

However, I must say that I agree with the I agree that this is pure crap. Unfortunately, my bff is going for it. Hopefully, God will open her eyes and see it for what it is, bunk.

I never could understand why people follow her “teachings”. I mean she is very wealthy, but she doesn’t seem to have good personal relationships.
