More US Mag BS About the Not-So-Down-To-Earth “Keepin’ It Real” Obamas

By Debbie Schlussel
It gets tiresome. Not only will we continue to see a steady diet of Obama family covers on celeb magazines, we’ll continue to get a steady diet of PR BS about them.
I already told you about the recent US Magazine cover featuring ridiculous romance “secrets” and extremely obvious, sappy marriage advice from the Obamas. Now, the latest US cover–in addition to featuring “Jumbo Jessica” (their and the NYPost’s name, not mine) Simpson’s weight gain features baloney about how down to earth the Obamas’ tastes and lifestyle are. “MICHELLE OBAMA’S keeping it real,” screams the headline. We’re told there’s no nanny, that they use pottery barn decor and J. Crew fashion.

But it’s complete fertilizer. I already told you how the Obamas are spending $55,000 per year to send their kids to one of America’s most prestigious private schools and how their kids eat organic tartlets, cheese and crackers, and roasted Atlantic salmon for lunch. Even before moving into the White House, the Obamas have had their own private gourmet chef for the last two years. Hey, US Magazine, this is “keeping it real”?
As for the alleged “Pottery Barn decor,” I already told you how Michelle Obama is wasting $100,000 of taxpayer money on one of America’s most exclusive interior decorators to redo the White House residence, which was just redone four years ago. Sorry, but that ain’t Pottery Barn decor. And as for the J. Crew fashions, I’ve already told you and you’ve no doubt learned on your own about Mrs. Obama’s gazillion dollar haute couture from Narciso Rodriguez and Isabel Toledo. She occasionally wears J. Crew as a pretense to make her seem like one of the people. It’s rare.
Even her kids–for one time wardrobed in J. Crew coats–have special buyers who buy high-styled designer clothes for them at exclusive boutiques, such as a purple silk tunic Malia, the older Obama daughter, wore to a pre-Inaugural youth event featuring the Jonas Brothers. Again, NOT keepin’ it real.
The Obamas are entitled to spend their money as they please (and apparently a whole lot of your money, too, unfortunately). But, please, quit telling us how down to earth and what regular Joneses they are.
They live like Rockefellers, not Smiths. They are not “just like us.” They are elites.

The new first lady is not good looking in my opinion. The media is determined exploit her every move but she is no Jackie Kennedy and never will be. I wonder how long it will take “average america” to become fedup with the obamas? Probably as soon as it is realized he only spews hot air and has no leadership qualities. We have just seen the first of many gaffs that are sure to follow.

Black people voted for Hussein because they said that he is “one of them,” he knows “their problems,” will “relieve” them “from poverty” and will “enslave White people” just like they “enslaved them in the past.”
The only thing Black people didn’t think about:
Hussein ran for president for himself, for his own “glory,” not for anybody else.
He wanted to bear the title of “First Black president of the United States” or as I correctly put it:
“First half-Black half-White, non-U.S. citizen, ineligible, dumbass Muslim president of the United Idiots of America.”
Oh yes, he is Muslim whether you like it or not.
Once Muslim, always Muslim.
In Islam there is no conversion.
Sincere conversion to Christianity or any other religion from Islam has to be proven through actions not words.
And Hussein doesn’t have to pray in a Mosque to be a Muslim. Enough watching his actions in favor of everything that is Muslim.
Hussein, as I said, wants to bear the unique title mentioned above, and he also wants to be always popular, therefore watch every move he makes, his decisions and policies will be implemented only if they increase his popularity around the world regardless whether they are harmful or not to America’s national security or whether or not they will please those who didn’t vote for him.
It is all about Him, the most powerful, the almighty, the Messiah, Allah incarnated.

Debbie, I actually agree with you on this one in a backdoor sort of way. I still don’t understand nor subscribe to this notion pushed my the media that American President should be “one of us”. Anyone with the nerve, drive, ambition and connections to run for President is definitely not “one of us” nor should they be.
The second the Obamas walked across the stage and accepted those Harvard Law degrees was the second they stopped being “just like us”. Those educational credentials opened doors and opportunities to them that most of us will never have access. It’s a game….trying to appear like the “average American” will get you elected I suppose, but at some level, most Americans have to know that most people running for President are far from the average American.
But I do recognize the lifestyle that the Obamas are living, because I saw it in my own community growing up. It is the lifestyle of the members of the Boule, the Guardsmen, the Top Ladies, the Links, the members of Jack & Jill (most Americans, including a large percentage of Black folks, are unaware that such people and organizations even exist). For these folks, the lifestyle of the Obamas is recognizable and very “real”.
So hey, I ain’t mad at them. More power to them. They chose to actually pick up some books and actually read (Black parents, are you taking notice?). They chose to go to school and work hard. They got theirs…now it’s up to me to use hard work and whatever talents I have to get mine for my family.

JibberJabber on February 3, 2009 at 8:07 pm

Keeping it “real”? Sadly, for too many Americans, it’s the need to keep it real stoopid.

spiffo on February 3, 2009 at 8:18 pm

Well, the American public certainly places form ahead of substance. The Obamas and their elite friends have succeeded in placing the discussion around things like lifestyle, instead of focussing on the political decisions that Hussein is making, like frittering away, with Republican help, trillions of our hard-earned dollars and capitulating around the world.
Harry Truman had his faults, but what a refreshing change he would be to what we’ve had now for the last few decades.

Since the Obabmas are well commented on, I just wanted to mention that Jessica Simpson looks great. I do not coment on matters like this normally, but this poor girl has been taking a beating in the press while the reality of it is that she is very attractive at her size. Real women are the best.

Both Mary Todd Lincoln and Nancy Reagan were criticized for their purchases
of White House china. Lincoln ordered lavish purple-and-gold china during
the Civil War. Reagan ordered 4,370 pieces of scarlet, cream and gold state
china at a cost of $210,399. Although the Reagan china was paid for by private
donations, the purchase raised eyebrows because it was ordered when the
nation was undergoing an economic recession.

ALL Black folk know that the Obamas are what we call “bourgie,” it’s y’all white folk who NEED to think they’re just your average Nigroes. And i agree with sjh…Jessica Simpson’s looking like a WOMAN now:)

EminemsRevenge on February 3, 2009 at 10:08 pm

Anytime you see a journalist or reporter. Just call them creeps worse than pedophiles. KING HUSSEIN COBRAMA could come out on the front lawn of the White House with a crack pipe and the reporters wouldn’t ask him what he is holding.
As for Michelle Obama keeping it real. Just watch this video. Pastor Manning speaks!!

That’s because you’re a racist.

And conservatives love conservatism but not America. Think up a new criticism of Obama that’s original and has a grain of truth to it.

You are retarded!

Norman Blitzer on February 3, 2009 at 11:18 pm

Michelle Obama “keepin’ it real”?? Well, the magazines better stop the heavy airbrushing then. I’m tired of the media telling me that Michelle is beautiful. The woman is hideous. There is nothing attractive about her. She looks like a gorilla. I’d say her looks are on par with Rosalynn Carter. All the expensive designer duds and Jimmy Choos can’t disguise the fact that she’s a beast. You can put lipstick on a gorilla but it’s still a gorilla.

lexi on February 3, 2009 at 11:42 pm

Norman Blitzer, This is your piece of sh*t president. He wants to get rid of 80% of our nuclear weapons. Iran is about to get nukes and he wants to get rid of our nukes. What a show of strength!! Jimmy Carter all over again.
He stimulus bill is so terrible, he is desperate to get Republicans to sign off because he has no faith in his own crap he is peddling. Man I thought this was a jobs, jobs, jobs bill. Nothing but useless old worn out liberal social programs that haven’t worked. What happened to bridges, highways, schools, infrastructure repair? Just plain BS. An old bill Pelosi/Reid they had on backburner. What happened to all his confidence and bravado? What happened to “Buy America”?
He needs Republicans to sign off to share blame when hollow stimulus bill fails. I hope senate gives him Zero just like the House

californiascreaming on February 3, 2009 at 11:47 pm

What is going on is idolatry. No one should ever worship a human being. Don’t believe anything you read in the MSM.

I could not agree more with your statements….she is a gorilla and all the expensive cloths and lipstick cannot hide this obvious fact. If you look at her profile one can easily see the Simian in her.

Chuck W on February 4, 2009 at 6:02 am

Norman Blitzer
Unfortunately, the truth always remains unchanged and original whether you like it or not.
What is also truly original about Hussein is being a president with this middle name, the rest of his person and personality is phony.

Independent Conservative on February 4, 2009 at 6:03 am

You can put a $500 dress/suit on an Obama and you still have an elitists affirmative action commie.

Southernops on February 4, 2009 at 9:38 am

Chuck W: Yeah, that profile! The profile shows the full extent of her gorilla-ness.
My problem isn’t that the woman is so fugly—it’s that the idiot media keeps telling me not to believe my own eyes. It’s a lefty thing: say a lie enough times and people will start to think it’s the truth.

lexi on February 4, 2009 at 10:20 am

I’ve previously commented here that the First Lady and the children are irrelevant until they have some sort of policy forming capacity. Until then, the healthiest thing for both commentators and the FL and Obama children is to ignore Ms. Obama and the children.
I grew up in and around DC. I knew a few politicians’ children at Sidwell Friends, National Cathedral and some of the other prestige prep and public schools. I thought that being a politician’s child was pretty constricting because of the media attention. And that was more than 30 years ago. It must have worsened since then.
As far as Pres. Obama and other elected officials, they’re fair game. Let’s have at ’em.

chsw on February 4, 2009 at 6:11 pm

The racism on this site is just amazing. How many times have one of you ignorant fools mention that Michelle Obama looks like an ape?
You guys continue to stay classy, and continue to wonder why you keep becoming more irrelevant each and every single year.

Independentone on February 4, 2009 at 8:41 pm

Independence, does that include Black Pastor Manning, who called her King Kong’s sister? The Black Pastor also acknowledged other Black women as beautiful. He just thinks Whoopi Goldberg would win a beauty contest against with her.
Here it is again if you didn’t see it.
As for being irrelevant, seems KING HUSSEIN COBRAMA is dying to have those irrelevant Republicans to join his stimulus bill? Cant do it himself, huh. Or afraid of his own rhetoric? Typical of liberals, no convictions.
I will stay classy while I keep listening to Pastor Manning and you can worship KING HUSSEIN COBRAMA.
I think COBRAMA listens to JayZ, this is right up his alley.

californiascreaming on February 4, 2009 at 9:21 pm

Like I said previously, Michelle Jezebel Soetero better get the camodes in the white house reinforced with 3/8 steel plate before they are all out of commission. There is no way they can wihtstand the force from her massive posterior without being shored up.
I too agree she is ugly and the Honerable James Manning had me ROTFL.
She so ugly……LOL

Mrs. Obama is not at all attractive, not because she is black: Dr. Rice is black and quite atractive, in part because her positive outlook is displayed for all to see, Mrs.Obama however has a major chip upon her shoulder and as a result she always looks angry. If you look at many of the leftist women in our Federal Gov’t you would see that they have the same sour monevolent look as Mrs. Obama. Conservatives however tend to have a much more positive outlook and it shows.
