HUH? Rihanna Glamorizes Muslim Niqab/Burka on SNL – VIDEO

By Debbie Schlussel

I’m hesitant to criticize Rihanna, who refused to give in to Muslim jihadists and their boycott against Israel, and performed in the Jewish State. On the other hand, I couldn’t believe my eyes on Saturday Night, when she performed on “Saturday Night Live” and glamorized the full-ninja Muslim head-covering for women known as a niqab or burqa (in some parts of the Muslim world, the burqa includes a full long dress, whereas in others, it is merely the name for the full face veil). As you’ll note in the video below of her live performance of the song, “Where Have You Been,” her sexy dancers are all wearing niqabs (though their arms and midriffs are not covered). It looks like an attempt to sex-up Muslim clothing for women that is completely backward and anything but sexy. It’s the garb of female oppression.

Rihanna & Her Bizarre Harem in Full Ninja Muslim Face Veils

What was she thinking? More like she wasn’t thinking, which is the problem. Perhaps she’s trying to portray herself as the man with a harem of niqab-encrusted female sex slaves . . . or something. Whatever the message, it stinks. One minute, she’s disrobing on some UK farmer’s land, and now this. Check out the video:

You’re wrong Debbie, the video is about as pro Burka, Pro Muslim as a pig farm in a Church. She’s an entertainer, she’s a promotor of her own brand, there is no ‘message’ in the video at all apart from ‘Buy my Music’.
The song has an Eastern feel and the dress is the same, of sorts anyway. I’m sure most Muslims wouldn’t find this consistant with their beliefs about female attire at all, how could they, the girls are showing flesh and dancing around in an overtely sexual way. It’s entertainment.
Do you see a message in everything ? Do you dream about Muslims slithering through the drain pipes and the sewerage system with their foldable swords in hand ready to garrot your fish whilst sleeping peacefully in their tanks ?
Look, I’m on your side but sometimes you take it too far and negate the good work you do by screaming at the wrong people. It only serves to push people away from you rather than pull them closer to your cause.

Sure, the harems in the Muslim World are like in that video.

Since its SNL, its undoubtedly a satire. I fail to see anything glamorous in the ubiquitous garment of Islamic female slavery.

Then again, that’s not what they watch in the Islamic World. They’re more into porn than fully bedecked babes.

Rihanna points out seeing ain’t necessarily believing. Let’s hear it for Islamic modesty!

It’s probably just a trite production that, as Debbie points out, doesn’t work on any level.

Was she the one who got beaten by Bobby Brown?

DS_ROCKS! on May 7, 2012 at 7:55 pm

She was the one who got beaten by CHRIS Brown. It amuses me that the public are more outraged by her beating that she is. She has been “hooking up” with him ever since and has recorded TWO songs with him AFTER the beating.

Me, I like that she likes Chris Brown because it proves how sick some dumb women are and that it is not ALWAYS the guys fault when he brutally beats a woman. Any women with brains would NEVER go near Chris Brown but it hasn’t stopped Rihanna and she even antagonizes his CURRENT girlfriend on twitter because she still “hooks up” with Chris Brown and wants to win the war against his current foolish girlfriend. Is winning Chris Brown really a prize? Only for sadists in a game of fools! Talk about a pyrrhic victory! YUCK!

Meanwhile, her fan-base are so outraged and I say why care for a moron more than she cares about herself?

There are many, many true REAL victims in life and they could use some tea and sympathy.

Rihanna is a very pretty skank who has almost NOTHING rolling around in her head these days except how to please her vagina. The British rags almost everyday have stories on her tweeting her body or flaunting the men and women she sleeps with. She would have ZERO interest on the threat of Islam these days unless that threat was somehow connected to her sex life and flaunting her body. I am disgusted at how cheaply she sells herself.

Saunders, you’re the joke. I laugh at idiots like you who accuse DS of crying fire in a theatre when everyday there are news items of theatres being torched and burned down. EVERYDAY.

Put your bona fides up on the table to counter what DS has to say or STFU. You show yourself to be a raging fool otherwise.

I’ll be honest with you, I’ve heard of this “Rhianna” character when I came onto this blog a few years ago when DS wrote articles similar to this one, I don’t know who this person, nor I don’t listen to her music.

Here’s my question, why did she let her dancers where the female islamic garb? Is this singer pandering to SNL’s muslim audience and/or dhimmi audience or something?

As for you Billy Saunders, NO Debbie is NOT going after the wrong people my friend, whenever she and all of us see’s something fishy, sketchy, etc. she and the rest of us call’s them out the way we all see it! And let me get this straight Billy, telling the whole truth and being honest pushes people away from you? Are you friggin kidding me man, WTF do you want, Debbie and all of us to start to lie and sugar-coat everything so folks like you can feel good and feel comfortable? My friend, don’t you realize at times the truth hurts no matter what!

I’m not a fan of Rihanna, but I do appreciate a nice rendition of Rihannon – a song that was my introduction to Fleetwood Mac back in the day.

Apropos SNL, reports are that they were slated to put on a skit last week satirizing Obama’s “grab the credit, spike the football” trope on the anniversary of the hit on Bin Laden, but the skit was pulled.

Raymond in DC on May 7, 2012 at 9:07 pm

Raymond is correct on both the Fleetwood Mac song and the scrubbing of the Obama skit on SNL.

I’d link the story but it’s from the bow-tied bum-kisser’s site.

Debbie I haven’t seen SNL since Ed Koch left office. Is Steve Martin still singing that funny Egyptian banjo song? Please meet me at The Shul Thursday night. We’ll ring in Lag Baomer together and then name the baby Akiva ben A1.

She’s and entertainer with one objective and that objective is to make money by putting herself and keeping herself in the public limelight. Because of that I cannot put too much credence in what any entertainer does. Same goes for politicians.

myother on May 8, 2012 at 10:32 am

With all respect due, Debbie, but chill for once.

We all know that there is a fine line between entertainment and indoctrination – thank Goebbels for actually erasing that during the 30s and 40s – but what put me off the Rihanna music number was not the “Harem” theme but the fact that I coundn’t FEEL the performance.

I don’t mind Vegas schmaltz and minstrel (read: Hip-Hop) shows, but to music aficionados like me, it’s like the occasional sugary treat to diabetics like me – too much can be very bad.

If the Harem theme promotes Islamism/Arabism, you might as well say that Oktoberfest promotes National Socialism and that Easter is inherently Anti-Semitic. The best I can do for that routine is say “meh” rather than “feh”.

(Speaking of which – who’s up for a “Yeah / Meh / Feh” list of cultural memes – I suggested that to Debbie via Twit. Can we start here?)

That said. I agree with “myother”. Sometimes entertainers do take risks to make money. Going to Israel doesn’t make one a hero or pro-Israel or anti-Jihadist – it just indicates that the person knows where they make more shekels. Just a thought.

Redundant….

A Black popular music artist, believing every fantasy they’ve been brainwashed with, regarding muslims, and putting on a show full of such fantasies? In spite of decades of evidence?

Redundant.

Michael Jackson whitened up for his largely white audience so whats the difference and you have to admit she did more for Israel than Obama has done lately.
It would be interesting to check the reaction of her fans in Dearborn, especially the editor of the “Arab News”.

Ron Wolf aka "Columbo" on May 8, 2012 at 12:43 pm

I’m not sure there was a message—she’s also got a song called S&M, for which she dressed up in fetish wear. Basically, she’s an apolitical slut selling trashy records.

But she knows this, and also knows that Muslims won’t buy her records while Israelis will.

I doubt Elvis Costello’s move got him many Arabic sales.

Occam's Tool on May 8, 2012 at 1:27 pm

Boy do I miss Barbara Eden as Jeannie! That was a sexy lady from an innocent time. And those “women” may be men in Arab drag. Is it just me, but Rhianna voice is one big whine sound. What a scam artist.

andrea405 on May 8, 2012 at 9:53 pm

I have to disagree with your point on the burqa being the epitome of female oppression. Sure, if I was FORCED to wear it, I’d be oppressed, but most Muslim women choose to wear it to free themselves from the wandering and judging eyes of men. So in a way, it’s worn to free themselves of being objectified.

Also, I don’t think Rihanna is glamourising the burqa. I’m pretty sure it’s just so the song has an Eastern feel to it.
