Terrorist Widow, Co-Conspirator Katherine Tsarnaev “Will Remain Muslim,” Did Shopping for Bomb Components
I really hate using People Magazine as a source for stuff like this. But the magazine’s August 5th issue has a long article about Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, widow and apparent co-conspirator of Boston Islamic terrorist, Tamerlan Tsarnaev. The story makes a ton of excuses for Ms. Russell Tsarnaev. But, in it, there are a few interesting tidbits (assuming you can believe a single thing in People, and I’m not so sure), including these:
* “A relative” says that Russell Tsarnaev refuses to give up Islam.
The relative tells People that Russell is listening to rock music and watching movies again, activities once forbidden by her husband. But there’s one concession she refuses to make. “She has made it clear to her entire family that she is a Muslim and will remain a Muslim,” says the relative. “That’s non-negotiable. The family respects that.”
Yup, the family goes along with that. And that’s exactly the problem. If they had zero tolerance for Islam, she’d give it up. But, being rich liberals, her parents accept that, and this is why their daughter ended up buying bomb components for an Islamic terrorist to maim nearly 300 Bostoners and murder several others.
* She was allegedly interested in Islam before she met her terrorist hubby.
While friends believe Russell was introduced to Islam by her husband, a person who knew her when she was a high school student working in a doughnut shop owned by practicing Muslims tells People, “Katie was interested in Islam before she met that man.
* She clearly helped the terrorists and still isn’t really cooperating with the FBI.
FBI agents are trying to crack several mysteries that have surrounded Russell since the bombing. Although they know there was a phone call between Katherine and Tamerlan after he was identified as a suspect, they still need to learn what was said. Authorities say that the investigation remains “open and ongoing” as they develop an intriguing profile of Katherine. “A Working theory is she is not so much of a possible active coconspirator [DS: sic] as an an abused enabler,” says a law-enforcement source. Among investigators’ questions: Did Katherine shop for bomb components, not knowing what they were for?
PUH-LEEZE. She not only knew what she was doing, but she was an active co-conspirator. You don’t go buying assorted chemicals and several pressure cookers “just ‘cuz.” This “abused enabler” line is just BS. Nice try, but no cigar. That excuse doesn’t usually work as a defense in court. (And I don’t believe that People actually has a law enforcement source that is working on the case.) Sadly, looks like the feds are buying everything she says, since she’s skated so far.

I find it hard to believe that a real Muslim would be listening to rock music. I think people mag is just trying to present Islam as mainstream. You know, the “they’re just like us” BS routine. I can’t believe she “knew nothing”.
